Daemon Blackfyre would’ve been alright, but certainly not anywhere close to his brother Daeron Targaryen. Daeron Targaryen was arguably the second best King in Targaryen history, after Jaehaerys. Daemon Blackfyre would’ve probably been similar to Robert, a warrior-king who grows fat, drunk, and lazy without a war to fight.

On the other hand, Jaehaerys brought back the realm from the depth of h.ell and created laws and regulations along with Queen Alisanne. If only a couple of their children survived (the good ones) his line would've been secured and the dance prevented.

@merykhan97 the biggest reason why the high lords hated him is because of the high taxes he implemented on them. Aside from that, he did his best to set his children up for political marriages but he ultimately couldn't do it, which I don't think was entirely his fault...

The Lannisters, Arryns, Durrandons, Gardners, Greyjoys, Nymeros-Martell, and Starks all ruled their kingdoms for thousands of years. In comparison, the Targaryens rule just shy of 300 years. Not very impressive 😂

@Partidantendan231 you've never seen a map of Westeros then. The Starks ruled the north for 8k years, which is as large as the res combined. The Vale of Arryn, Stormsland, Westerlands, the Reach are all massive kingdoms. They also didn't just rule their house but hundreds of minor and major houses as well. And all of this they did for thousands of years without Dragons. The Targaryen rule was pathetically short and only lasted as long as they did after they lost their dragons because people had gotten used to the idea of Targaryen on the Iron Throne. They could've ousted them anytime but didn't due to traditions which had set in. They're luck that they lasted a whole 100 plus years that they did that due plot armor.
A shame you didn’t go all in on Maegor’s reign count because that man was kind for 6 years, 6 months, and 6 days😭

I really want to see Daerons invasion of Dorne, his cousins Aegon iv and Aemon (Dragon Knight) went with him. I want Aegon iv to be like Virgil from Devil may cry (Bulky and fit, but can easily get fat latter in life) and his brother to be like Griffith from Berserk(beautiful but deadly). Daeron can be like the figure shown on the painting (a young Jaime Lannister) that trio is gonna be wild

Here's an unpleasant fact. The Targaryens brought peace to Westeros. Without the there would be 7 Kingdoms that would be fighting eachother.
Actually, it is never said that the kingdoms used to fight each other before the Conquest, and some sources say there were very few wars in Westeros during the millennia of independence. During the 300 years of Targaryen rule, however, there was the Dance of Dragons, Blackfyre rebellions, Mad Kings, other wars of succession...

I don’t think Rhaenyra should be included by the fact that she is considered an usurper in the history of House Targaryen, even her son Aegon III denounced her as such when he ascended the throne.
If anything Aegon II is the usurper. And it was him who denounced her I believe. Don't remember her son doing so .

Nor did any of the Targs that succeeded him, point of the matter is, that insofar Westeros and House Targaryen is concerned Rhaenyra is seen as the usurper. It would be like saying that the Blackfyre claimants should be on the list as well.
She was still Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and Lord Protector so why not include her. It doesn't matter who denounced her
Not only is irrelevant if other monarchs denounced her, I don’t remember her son denouncing her. I believe one of the only reasons he didn’t cement her as queen in the history books is because he didn’t want to open old wounds and didn’t want to create a rift between the people who supported the greens and/or blacks.

Finally someone did what others could not, everyone knows that Rheanyra did sit and reign on the Iron throne. And just because some people do not see her as the queen but a usurper she still reign. This logic is like just because the candidate who won as president was not someone we choose does not mean he was not the president. He still won fair and square and back then that's how things were even though some people do not believe Rheanyra as queen she still won the battle against the Greens and half of the population of Westeros considered her as queen. The logic is that it was a civil war, at the start Aegon sat on it, on the end Aegon sat on it. Trystane Truefyre sat on the throne and called himself king with people actually obeying him, but he is not counted as a king.
Rheanyra sat on the throne for 6 months and was literally chased out of the capital by the smallfolk. They also killed one of her sons and her dragon.
After that she got herself captured and executed by her brother Aegon.
She didn't exactly win anything.
Is Tyrstane Truefyre also a rightful monarch of Westeros? He sat on the Iron Throne and was declared King during the Dance of Dragons. Yet I don’t see anyone arguing for him to be included as one.

Hot take, but Jaehaerys I is extremely overrated. His misogyny directly led to the Dance of the Dragons; he had multiple opportunities to avoid the problem by confirming his eldest child Daenerys as his heir or naming Rhaenys the princess of Dragonstone after his son Aemon's death. All of his best reforms were his wife's idea, including outlawing the legalized rape of peasant brides by lords (which he did reluctantly after much argument). He was a "peace bringer" because he didn't stir the pot, despite having more dragons than almost any other Targaryen king. Meanwhile, Aegon V, raised by a hedge knight and among the poor, spent his entire reign putting down rebellions against his progressive reforms (things like "the smallfolk are entitled to trials" and "a lord can't just hang anyone he doesn't like") and died trying to hatch dragons so his vassals would have to accept his decrees. He and his family died trying to achieve the power Jaehaerys was born to and did nothing with.
The dance would begin sooner if jaeherys put a woman on the throne. Dance was completely viserys' fault for naming rhaenerya over grudge.
@Will the Dance wasn't fought over a female heir per se, that was the excuse each side used or ignored at various times as it suited their political ambitions. The Dance was a power struggle over influence between different families, which was made easier by Jaehaerys continuing to muddy the succession order. There might have been a war if he hadn't called the great council, but not if he'd named Rhaenys immediately after her father's death.

She was not a ruler, who sat (as in sat on the throne and passed judgment) therefore she was not Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, the allegiances sworn to her weren’t before the throne and the fact that she had her brother killed in the show/making her a kinslayer AND kingslayer (if you go by the Targaryen right to rule in perpetuity) then she really is no queen.
