  • In this video I show a few random video recordings. Created once with the internal software of the s23 ultra. and shortly afterwards with motioncam. Also with the s23 ultra. All videos are without color processing. they were also rendered on the s23 ultra.
    Just enjoy.

Reeeeally wished you shot in 24fps.
With that out of the way you can totally tell how much chroma and luma data Samsung is tossing during post processing vs the what the RAW sensor is actually capturing.
Imho the Motion Cam RAW app is way better than the i15pro's Prores option. There's a visible leap in quality with Motion Cam app between the phone's native format container vs RAW capture then you see with iPhone native format and the Prores feature.
It reminds me of the thick look I get from my BMPCC OG, also RAW cinema DNG.
This demobstrates just how much theses manufactures cripple their tools in the name of convenience and user-friendliness.

I did a test with my S9 and S20, and the S9 looked way smoother around the edges and sharper using motion compared to the stock S20, even though the S9 is using less advanced cams.

@matthiasneumann6775 very interesting. I think it's because motion is using DSLR quality. Also, I noticed when zoomed in, every stock video has jagged edges and looks like a cartoon look, whereas zooming in on a video done with motion doesn't have these problems; they have screwed us for years. On phones's
People don't notice these problems because they aren't zooming to 100 or more. I only did that because I wanted to make sure. I have done like 20 pictures over 2 days just zooming in and comparing side by side. I actually have been using the former best app to take video, which is Opencam, and yes, that has the same problems as Stock and every other cam app. The only thing every cam app does is upgrade the bitrate from Stock.

@@cmoneytheman yes. And thats the reason, why i always jumper back to my fullframe camera. If u use once a fullframe. For pittoresken or video. U will always notice your fact.

sorry dumb question but can you pls teach me how to export the video file correctly? i use motioncam on s22 ultra, plan to edit on final cut pro on my macbook pro. i've tried exporting although my configurations do not work, when i look at the album it only displays a lot of photos. tysm.

That is ok. Raw videos are many high resolution pictures. U habe to export it through motion cam as high res or pro res. Or u use a Programm that is rdy for it. Try the software on the motiln cam side. F.e. yiu are welcome to ask more

Use hevc at 300mbps it's performs equivalent to standard proress because software incoder is not that efficient

There's something wrong with the frame rate sometimes. Dropped frames?

Because i did other stuff during rendering. Normaly the s23 ultra takes it easy.

Motion reduces the artificial and agressive sharpness that default camera applies to footages.

Zooming in on stock cam video no matter the resolution you will see like a cartoon look and jagged edges, whereas using motion these problems don't exist
