You can keep your settings 2 different ways. Open the native camera app, go to settings, then scroll down and choose "settings to keep" . You can also keep your settings in Raw. Once in raw, scroll to where you can see white balance. Just above the white balance is a little slider, toggle, looking icon. Click on that, and create your settings. Then save them.
Also, you do not have to use the timer. You can use the s-pen. If you have the Samsung Galaxy 5 pro watch you can also use your watch to take the picture.
I am very much looking forward to you making a video of how to use Lightroom on the phone.

That Auto night mode really shines when the scene is very very dark with very very minimum light (to the point where even your eyes can't see the details clearly). Expert RAW or Pro mode will give you a very dark image unless you do some post-processing, Whereas the Auto Night mode will light up the entire scene and details and it will also reduce the noise automatically.

    • @StevenDivish
      @StevenDivish  Год назад +17

Only first part is true that the auto night mode will perform better in complete darkness, however in the city its never pitch black...And its still going to be long exposure photo, so the phone does automatically what I do in the pro and expert raw modes, however if you use manual settings you also have full control over your ISO settings resulting in the cleanest and sharpest image possible

I am watching this right today that S24 is getting presented and I am watching from my S23 Ultra since...well.. I am thinking about switching to the Pixel 8 Pro honestly :D
And this video is somehow pushing me to change.
First of all, congrats! The video is very well done and you showed properly how to maximize photography out of this tech beast.
The message you are sending in the video is that this device is very good for low light pics thanks to the 200mpx and to the opportunities given by the 3x and especially by the 10x.
This is true, but there is a hidden message which is: "only if you have a tripod".
Now, I own cameras and I like shooting with them. As many amateur photographer, I do own a tripod as well...but...I mean I would never take my tripod with me to shoot with a smartphone. The purpose of the smartphone itself is completely lost.
And I believe that hardly someone may have a tripod without having a camera.
That's it, just wanted to highlight this.
I am still torn with the S23U vs P8P debate, since the S23U returns amazing result in good light with all cameras and even without tripod (I got some amazing, really high quality videos and photos out of it), but in low light it is just bad, even terrible sometimes, if used as a smartphone (hold in the hand, point, tune a bit the light and shoot) with the zoom cameras. While the P9P (that i got the chance to test), with its 5x and even with computational 10x, is an amazing point-and-shoot even in low light.
Thanks again for the video! You got a subscriber here :)

    • @brunops1

Just tested it: you can't use S-pen as shutter button on Expert-RAW, BUT you can activate shooting by voice command, thus shooting by just saying "shoot", "capture", "smile" etc. (works like a charm!) AND you can also shoot by hand gestures (like open hand palm). So, there's no need to be affraid of shaking the phone by pressing its screen shutter button.

You can actually use the S-pen as a remote control to activate shutter without timer, both in auto as pro manual mode. You will have to manually add *expert RAW* to the S-pen controls this way: go to S-Pen settings > Air Action > select *Expert Raw app* (it is a seperate app from the standard camera app) and add it in the list of apps of your S-Pen controls. || The other option is voice command!

I picked up the Ultra a few days ago and I am pleasantly surprised. The phone and and light weight tripod are easy enough to go anywhere. There is a bit of a learning curve because I am used to the tactile buttons on my DSLR for quick changes. That being said, the camera alone on this phone makes it a worthy purchase for the hobbyist photographer or as a back up unit for a professional.

Why are you using the timer when the s-pen can remotely take the photos and avoid camera movement? This feature is totally unique to the S23 and I am surprised you ignored it in this video. Also, I tend to avoid the 10x super zoom on my S23 ultra at night for hand held shots anyway, because it struggles a bit in low light. Personally, I would stick with the main camera 95% of the time as it gives much better and consistant low light results. The 10x zoom is great during the day, but even then I always switch to 3x4 aspect because the rather limited 10mp resolution starts to look suspect when viewed on my 27" 4K monitor at 9x16, due to the reduction in pixel count to achieve this aspect.

The thing I don't like about expert raw is it makes things look blotchy and unnatural with oversharpenning and noise reduction, which we can't control. Thought expert raw was only option to get computationally enhanced raw photos, but after trying a gcam app I found gcam to be much better option. It preserves all the details without oversharpening and extreme noise reduction which we can control to our liking as well in app settings.

Thanks for the detailed tips! Wondering what editing app do you use for RAW pics?
Also, if I'm at music gigs/events where I can't carry a tripod, how can I work around with night mode photography or videos?
Particularly, in PRO mode, less shutter speed makes pictures blurry (if not mounting on stable surface/ taking by hands)
    Any suggestions @StevenDivish?

@@StevenDivish I took about a hundred shots, in every mode (photo, panoramic, pro, raw pro, x3, x10, night shot, 4:3 200MP).
      1. They all came up pretty flat, especially when I screen zoomed at 100% on my computer. Granted, it was on a cloudy day, but would it affects the shots that much? My manual setting was probably way off, but even the automatic photo mode looks bland.
      2. Ultra's panoramic shots also look blotchy and washed compared to photo mode. S8 Plus seems more consistent in every shot.
      3. I'm not a photographer, so I don't know what to look from these shots. I just felt Ultra doesn't give that much more detailed shots other than larger size compared to S8 Plus.
Would you please take a closer look at my shots? I would show you the DNG files, but I have no idea where to upload such big files.

I find it easier to process a photo taken in automatic mode to the extent that it will be better than in manual mode. A flat image is good because it has a wide dynamic range. And then it's easy to add shadows and paints, and the result will be better than in manual mode.
