I've still got my Crass records from my school days.... I loved it then and love it now..... Thank you for giving me understanding and knowledge of things the schools and system would never show us......Proud to be Labelled Punk.......
Simon Robson im the same Simon I still have my punk lps and eps subhumans omega tribe flux and so on and I’m proud of the fact learnt a lot from them
I had the pleasure and honor to open for Steve Ignorant's Last Supper Tour with my band (A).P.P.L.(E). on April 20th, 2011. The gig took place in my home neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn and it was kind of wild to think that when I finally met Steve it'd be in my own backyard! What a great humble guy he is. I hope one day in the future perhaps (A).P.P.L.(E). will be invited to play on the bill with Steve again. It was a blast in 2011 and I'm so glad I finally had the chance to not only meet Steve but to play my music for him which I'm happy he liked. Cheers mate!!!!
Are you the band that has the 7" with the remake of Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
My brother made me an Apple mix tape in the 90s. I wore it out.
@@alexsandell8260 Yes! It's called "A Sensitive Fascist Is Very Rare" a 4 song Ep
My cousin is friendly with Steve he's a great person from what I know of him. It's funny there's 4 weeks difference in age between me & my cousin. We're both well in our 50's now. We only found out about 3 years ago that we both love Crass & always have done from our teens.
One of the most top people we have interviewed & one of Shell's fav interviews, sometime wished we not split it into two parts, but hey what we did back in the day.
I saw them when I was about 13 about 1979 above a pub by Putney bridge ,my mates dad ran ,It was amazing The backdrops flags military drumming stabbing guitars violent vocals And sweet vocals combined was fucking Amazing stayed with me for life , infact shaped my attitude.
Looking forward to seeing Steve play in Bristol next Thursday 😀 never got to see Crass...so this means alot had all the singles when I was young, wish I still had them.
Excellent interview. Crass had a huge affect on me growing up, I saw them live twice and was just blown away by it, they were the blueprint for the whole punk DIY ethos. Nice to see Steve is still very active and by the looks of it going back to his Suedehead days with the suit, button down, braces and loafers. Top bloke.
Thank you, part two of the interview can be found here :) ruclips.net/video/7R7zkz8tmgY/видео.html
these ones had to live forever, like charlie and all the others.
for us german "2nd-generation"-punks, these people are milestones
of humankind. i will die with that mind.
h.m.
I meet Steve once. Showed him my homemade crass tat. He was very tall and kind. Told me "nice tat" even though it's pretty sloppy. Crass opened me up to much, ty.
Hey, you really opened my eyes in so many ways. Thanks mate. I'd love to tell you face to face.
Thing is, it wasn't like "I wanna do what you do", it was like... you made me think what I wanted to do.
Besides, I think you're a nice guy. Cheers mate.
And fucking hell, that rescue thing... "a bit scary"... man, "a real grounder"... whoa.
You, Steve, are all right. Not a lot of people can really say that.
There’s nothing crass or ignorant going on here. What a sensitive lovely man! Saw them in Derby around 1980. I was 16. I’m 55 now!
Steve is total class & was a joy to interview :)
Like many i was raised on the album stations of ...still awesome
Steve is an all time legend, saw em several times with the crass in the 80's
Top bloke.
Punk legend
He is, and a true gentleman!!
Good interview, I would just like to say that Steve has always been helping rescue people from drowning in a sea of political bullshit,. Keep up the good work mate.
That's some beautiful humility Steve , about your name👍
Really like Steve. Top bloke
He was an absolute pleasure to talk with!
Great interview
love this acoustic version but where is the bass?
Never got into Crass.
Steve Ignorant is spot on though. Nice bloke.
That suit, pork pie hat, red socks. Proper :)))
Goob job! :) Keep it up!
''Big Hands'' forever.
good man
what's the first song??
Why is there no live footage of crass from back in the day
The few times i caught CRASS they always played almost in the dark & wearing black so video would not have been much use esp as it was pretty basic back then Michael.
same.. that is how I ended up here.. must be some bootlegs out there?
Because there isn't any.
Because it was pre -vhs and professional cine equipment was beyond the reach of anyone who had an interest in them .
top CRASS 👍
Crass is the most punk honestly. I'm not big on the clash. Crass is like the clash but frickin better.
I grew up in hardcore the metal core. Horrendous stuff.
Ta best
Steve .. I want you to spud me ...I met you many times :-) I like it your recollection doesnt change .. truth never does
He says Crass sounded nothing like The Clash yet Big A Little A bears a big resemblance to Capital Radio
are we listening to the same songs?
I'm sure I'm not deaf
Sleaford Mods are definitely punks.
Rather more Gordon Bennet that Tony Bennet I think.
HAHAHAHA....Tony Bennett sings Crass.....!!!!
I left my $$$$%%££ heart in San Fran ^%$% cisco!!!!
Sad to see hows hes turned out playing Crass songs with different band at so called punk festivals etc & the shit theyve been selling everything he does is 100% against everything Crass they said were about as they said themselves Punk is Dead.
Oh boo hoo
@@nasdkhan254 grow up you child
@@woody5831 Yr telling me to grow up 🤣🤣 Yr upset about an ancient punk band who split up 40 years back and one member decided to play a few gigs and is now a life boat man . Form Yr own group if you feel others break your code of ethos
Steve is far from ignorant.all right and left wing politics are utter bollox.Ste is the honest one out of crass unlike the rest of them.
I think they are all honest even if they don't agree on everything. Steve is a great guy I think. So is Penny Rimbaud. In their own way.
Chibo do caralho...vergonhoso o q fez com o site anarcho-punk.net!!
Good chap. Is he Christian?
He was actually heavily interested in Christianity whilst at school before he rejected religion altogether. There seems to be elements of Christian loving kindness incorporated into his overall philosophy.
