The countdown to the gap was hilarious. When he had him agree to tell a joke you could see on his face he was excited and couldn’t believe how great it was the guy was stupid enough to actually try
Huge respect for Richard for not only keeping the gig going but keeping it funny. He was clearly furious, as we all would be, but he managed to keep his cool. As so many comedians just repeat the same set every night, it's great to see improvisation at it's best.
What I love about this is that he's able to handle the heckler so well, without indulging in angry language -- he meets this stupidity with some really funny retorts. Kudos. Also, does anyone else get nervous just watching these things? I feel so nervous for the comedians, though in this case Herring handles himself beautifully.
breezebro Yes, been to quite a few pubs to see first hand twats getting pummeled, for no "good' reason I might add. Nothing wrong with that if the bloke is physically persistent, but when they've had too much, and just loud,...I mean, no reason to give the guy stitches&splints, take him by the collar and seat of his bloomers, and give him a toss,..nuff said, right??!!
That was priceless! I absolutely take my hat off to the comedian for handling it with such wit - When I was younger I would have liked to have done stand-up, but I didn't think I could deal with hecklers. I can't imagine being cool enough to deal with it this way.
That was brutal, but you handled it masterfully. You started out polite & gentle (despite the fact that guy was obviously loaded); then you slapped him repeatedly & w/increased severity until they dragged him out. You never appeared to lose your cool even though you had to be seething on the inside. And I liked how part way through you called the situation for what it was (i.e., a set that might've gone much better if you hadn't had to babysit a chronic disrupter). Glad I saw this. Thank you.
Never understood hecklers shaming themselves, those with them, those around them, and the audience in general. Always glaad to see them turned out. L.M.A.O. ~ Cheers, DAVEDJ
Good on Richard Herring. You can see he's pissed, but he keeps his cool, which is exactly what you need to do in these situations, and turns it on the heckler. Well done, and very funny!
The sign of a true comedian. He kept his cool and still rebuffed the "bollocks" without affecting his cool. Richard Herring is one of the best on the circuit and this is living proof .... well .. video proof anyway! Cheers to WamBamClub for showing it!
Yelling BOLLOCKS in the middle of the joke reminds me of this knock knock joke: Knock knock? Who’s there? Interrupting cow. Interrupting cow... MOOOOOOO!!!
I didn't like this one bit. It stopped being a heckle and turned into a full blown argument. Richard was clearly getting a bit upset at the shite vibes the drunk was bringing which is probably what made him retort with personal insults. I don't blame him if I'm honest...
@@PrinceAkaiVtuber it's about keeping cool, not resorting to the heckler's level. Talking about stabbing a heckler is pretty crass. Maybe I'm just old fashioned.
@@corpgov nah but it was a good joke, and I think it was warranted given how much of a prick he was being. That heckler clearly just wanted attention, and didn't really genuinely care about jokes being made about stabbings
It's great that he handled it well but jesus christ security shouldn't have to wait to be told to eject him -- they should have kicked him out way sooner. 100% of the time, the comic does NOT want to deal with hecklers, but they'll try to make it funny just because demanding someone be removed can kill the vibe. The club should do it for them, without being asked.
+Ginger Fitzgerald On some levels, I agree, however I do believe that comedians do actually like people that heckle - to an extent. This guy wasn't what I'd call a normal heckler, not because he didn't give up ruining the comedians jokes, but because he was generally raged and upset at the joke. Security also have to give people benefit of the doubt before they go as far as ejecting someone, otherwise it just makes them look bad. The comedian was in no danger what so ever, so the need for him to be dragged away instantly wasn't necessary.
just seen this for first time. a master- class on dealing with a total " sad - person " for want of a better term . Class is within , this comedian is something special.
what don't you joke about? a joke is harmless as its not meant to be taken seriously some people do im afraid. now if i was a comedian i would of said '''wow 1 person out of a few hundred heckled thats not bad for a show ive done''. id try not to do personal insults its childish. i would of said ''if you think youre better than me come up on stage''. being heckled isnt a bad thing it just makes you stronger and come up with more material.

Enormous respect to Richard Herring here. What a tense situation and he handled it like a pro
"Kids are getting stabbed left right and center" sounds like a Brass Eye line.
"...the other day 4 teenagers were stabbed at once by a mad man with a shish kebab skewer!"
The fuck security? Let that guy ruin his whole set.

"This bloke goes to work on a farm..." jokes have so much potential.
You mean the security staff handled it very well.
BOLLOCKS!

"About the Orient Express?"
😂😂😂
''I got mugged right ..''
''Shame they didn't do a better job...'''
HAHAHAHAHA BOLLOX HAHHHAHAHAAAAHA

"I got mugged, right-"
"It's a shame they didn't do a better job."
