I love Brennan as a DM because he does things like take an identify spell but elevate it and make it so much more interesting than just handing a player a card or sending them a link to the item. Obviously tons more, he's just so good.
I'll happily admit I stole Brennan's version of the spell and used it in my campaigns to great effect. The wizard loved to cast it whenever she could. I eventually started to mix up the voices of the identify spell and crafted a weird sort of IT helpline lore about the identify spell.
@@micropirate12 That's awesome. It's not too often people will get excited about getting lore with a first level spell but you did it, well played and ty Brennan for making us all better.
i love that at the beginning, everyone at the table is like "ugh this guys lame" but then buy the third or fourth "ah yes" they all love the identify spell
You can also notice that the less "in the story" and more "DM doing exposition" what he's saying is, the more the accent slips, especially in the last clip
My headcannon is that this isn't Brennan being incredibly generous with what 'identify' is capable of. I think, rather, that Adaine's talent at oracular magics was so potent that she accidentally crafted her own spell and never realized it. Should another wizard reverse engineer it, we would now have Adaine's Elucidating Eye to go with Adaine's Furious Fist.
thankyou for compiling these! I've searched high and low on youtube for an identify spell compilation and today one just hops into my lap like this! 😊praise helio!
/edit/ OMG it's you!! Chuckle Fuckle!! wowie, fancy bumping into you on Algorithm Boulevard twice in a row! I suppose I shall simply have to subscribe! :D
does anyone with music detecting software/ keen ears know what the background music ~brennan~ the post-production team uses for the identify spell is? it's not mentioned on the wiki in the music section, and on the discord one person asked years ago but never got a response, and I myself have been DYING to know for the last 2 years :'D 😢this is the first video I've found that takes an interest in the identify spell bits that brennan did as for why I wanna know what the music is? ...I just think it's neat :)
@@melman ya know what, I think you're right - instead of hoping someone else will identify the identify spell, I could make the sound myself and BE the identify spell - thankyou for the musical knowledge :D
dude...the sword of shadows was crafted by tabaxi ninjas? like a certain tabaxi rogue that only the owner of the sword of shadows, Riz Gukgak, can see????
That's literally a plot point, i don't remember if its implied Kalina made the sword or people who could see her made the sword, but it is one of those two
..Ok….the irony of Riz getting a sword crafted by Tabaxi ninja only for a year later to have *his arch-nemesis* be a plague that looks likes a Tabaxi ninja is just now hitting me.

This has been another use of the identify spell.

Ah yes, a compilation of the use of the identify spell has finally been uploaded. I am greatly pleased
I read this in the Identify voice.
I'm amazed that no-one pointed out that he's just doing a David Attenborough impression. 😃

Anytime I think about David Attenborough now I just think of 'Prehistoric Planet', which doesn't make this less funny tbh x)
Emily wondering if Johnny’s patron is her dad and then making that face when Brennan said Gorthalax’s name is so funny. No girl, you were right.

Brennan really said with that last one "let's make True Strike useful for once in it's life"
"Just sort of a mind fuck for you to walk around with" describes Brennan as a DM
THANK YOU ADAINE"S ARCANE INTELLECT IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN FANTASY HIGH
PURE DATA!
my favourite thing is in the first episode he says morals have no weight, but then gives an opinion about the morality of drinking and driving
Well it's just a fact that it's stupid and uncool to drink and drive.

it sounds like just a string sound holding a major chord with a filter sweep on it.

Honestly it reminds me of something from Spyro
It’s from dead space

HAHAHAHA I DIDNT EDIT THIS VIDEO AT ALL I JUST REALIZED
I thought to myself f "god, I wish somebody would make a compilation of every identify spell" and lo and behold.... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE
This has the same energy as the Narrator for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
"Calimoria" LMAOOOO love the tiny nod to Tolkien dwarves
