I’m doing my first wedding gig today and I was really nervous. A part of me didn’t want to do it anymore because I didn’t believe in my art and ability, but seeing this just really motivated me. Thank you sm for the advice man🌻
Coverage is sooo important! I find a lot of new videographers tend to stand in one spot and haven't discovered how much better their story could be with additional angles and coverage! Awesome tips Teppo!
Yes, planning ahead is essential! I am a solo photographer, while my husband is a solo videographer, and we have a great system going. Thank you for the video!
Alros Avellana 2 Cameras set up for ceremonies, speeches/toasts. Float around shooting b-roll the rest of the day. There’s plenty of BTS stuff on my channel which might be helpful..
@@AdamWingFilms I saw! I'm planning to start my journey as a wedding videographer and you sharing your experience and tips really helps with all my questions! thank you so much!
Changing angles and going from large, medium to tight view are genuine ideas to get great shot. Thanks. We're watching as long as the algorithm is helping us to watch.
Great Advice... Great way to explain it from a doable perspective. so many people make this a stressful experience. i shoot events (Lowrider cars, Harley Bikes/Street footage) documentary style. i will be shooting my first weeding this weekend. The groom asked me to shoot exactly how my style is, hes giving me 100% creative freedom. so this is a stress reliever. i already shoot alot of little clips because i shoot with a editors eye. im excited!!!
I'm filming/shooting my first wedding gig in less than a month and I have been watching all you wedding tip videos preparing for it. Great tips, I am positive it is going to help me a lot! Thanks!
My tip for the ceremony: multiple static cameras (bride side, back center, and groom side) and one that I move around with getting all the different angles. That way if I miss a moment or jack up a shot my static cams have it. I used to also do that with the first dance, but do it less when all I have to make is a highlight or trailer. Static cams are my friend. With them a lot of times I'll even shoot longer films solo, although I prefer having a second. A lot of people don't want to pay for a second.
Teppo! Thank you! Definitely saw this at the right moment. I happen to have my first wedding gig coming up in 4 weeks and my volunteer second shooter just dropped out. Wish me luck lol. Thanks for the extra courage.
This is very helpful Teppo. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips for shooting solo. I filmed two weddings solo with my DSLR & 2nd camera. It was exhausting! I was there the whole day for both weddings.
THIS IS AMAZING!!! Can you do a full video like your Tip #1? Maybe behind the scenes of filming solo at an actual wedding? Showing how you do it from beginning to end as a solo
Yet again awesome free tips thanks Teppo - my daughters wedding is this year and I have been trying to think how I can get some footage for this would love to be able to get someone like you to do it 😃 awesome result for Finland how will Peter & Matti react !
Shooting for just a trailer would fun, unfortunately the handful I've done, they always want full ceremonies. I end up doing full weddings and sandwitching it between mini trailers so they get what they want and I can still make use of my shorter clips. It's very difficult to do on my own though and I'm never sure how it's gonna cut together in the end.
Hi:’do you film your wedding in any specific picture profile or do you use Canon standard picture profile. My question comes due to all the work needing to color grade the footage after the wedding. Not sure how you do it!
I have a Sony a6300 and will be filming my first wedding on 25th June. What would you recommend in terms of SD card storage and batteries? How many SD cards and what storage capacity would you recommend?
i've shot weddings with my a6300 quite a few times now and honestly that thing EATS! batteries... so i bring around 10 batteries per camera with me Just incase... same with SD cards i like to have more than i ever think i'll need so i bring around 300Gb worth Per cam... try to bring a few 32 or 64gb cards though, dont put them all on just one 256GB card.. because if anything goes wrong and a card dies you'll have only lost a bit of the days footage and not the WHOLE thing...
Sweet I’ve been waiting for this great tips mon chum. No wonder you’re in great shape running all over filming like that lol. Seriously great work dude.
How did you get the grooms reaction? After you filmed them in two separate locations ...did they just come together in one location? I'm just trying to understand.
Great video! Very helpful! Unfortunately, it's about 5 days late for me. My girlfriend is a wedding photographer, and last Sunday her bride decided that she wanted me to do a trailer of the wedding... 3 hours before the ceremony started!!! The only camera I had with me was my mavic 2 pro and phone. TOTALLY ROCKED IT! It was actually a great experience, great video, and I'm thoroughly impressed with my M2P yet again! 😁 However... I really need to buy a dslr. Lol
I've been thinking about starting to shoot weddings but the fact that there's some many thing you have to be prepared to do and be very fast, and not mes up the crusial shots, kinda frightens me 😂 but I guess I just gotta watch more of your videos and then eventually just start!
If I only have one camera I sometimes shoot a med-wide shot of key moments in 4k and then crop it down in post to give me two options to work with later. Keep up the great work!
How long is your Trailer? Right now I have 4 films that I offer. Documentary, Highlight (6-8”). Short Film (2-3”) and a Teaser film that is about 1 minutes long and it’s delivered within two weeks of the wedding. My brides live all theee films. They tell me that our videographers don’t even do / offer the Doc film
Is it possible to make an internship in your team :D? or to work with u? cuz i want to travel and i would love to learn it with you together and work with you as a team!
Hey! I just noticed that huge distortion that comes in to the corners when you came into focus at the start of the video. Is it because of the lens or something done in post production? What lens is it though, looks really unique. Background almost looks green screened 😂
mostly all wedding videographers in France do it alone - because of wedding prices. It is not a fancy thing to do. Ideal Crew have to be more then one person.

3-5 minutes, usually just music with minimal dialog.
