Epic veiw of the head or heads being done, its been a blast to watch, I will be doing a Cam Swap & heads in a mint 6.1 300c SRT8 I just bought, The Jeep SRT is still amazing & Runs great! Appreciate your efforts and quality content thanks Josh.
Nice video, i always like having heads pressure tested when they come off, but i guess it makes sense since you where chasing a lifter / cam problem not a head gasket failure. Keep up the good work. someday we should do a colab.
Just bought a 2014 srt GC with 101k miles, I drove it for 3 weeks and had constant over heating issues, and finally I got a second opinion, after the dealer said the car was ok, Jeep Techs confirmed it was a blown head gasket and I towed it to the dealer I bought it from, they replaced the head gaskets and studs, which is great, but today when it was suppose to be ready, I was told that now the head cylinder is cracked, all covered under warranty, but a nightmare
@@JoshShare do you think the engine has permanent damage? It was suppose to be only the head gasket fix, but after a failed hydrocarbons test yesterday, they diagnosed it was a cracked cylinder head, and keep it mind, only 1,500 miles were put in the car since it was bought.
Welcome Back to YT. So I just got my second round of lifter failure (30K miles since that first round) even with MDS delete. I drive about 30-35k miles per year. Really debating if I should forge the internals and fully send it. or get a different motor. First world Problems :)
What lifters did you go with on your first round John? Everyone talks Compcam for the camshaft but I haven't heard much about compcam lifter use. If they make good cams then does it stand to reason they make good lifters also? Back in the day Isky had a good rep for their gear also.
@@marv9820 compcam is what I got through Texas speed. As fast as lifters they are non MDS like lifters. I was planning to get all the parts through MMX but my shop has a contract with Texas Speed. And BTW I don’t think it’s the lifters this time. We opened the oil filter and found big chunks of metal. It may be a hearing or a push rod or even a piston. Next thing is to take the oil pan out and see around the crankshaft.
@@marv9820 unfortunately it’s inevitable. These engines are designed this way. Poor oil flow design. These motors cannot be idled for long and oil changes have to be done more frequent than recommended. But who am I to talk, I drive my Jeep like I stole it 🤣😂 60k (s)miles on the motor and no regurts.
Good video...I have a 392 Hemi OEM in 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8. I will be rebuilding soon.

It’s only a nightmare if it’s not covered by warranty. It could’ve been much worse. Sorry that’s happening to you

Thanks! I’m fortunate that mine lasted this long

@@drv1776 always very interested in what people are throwing into their 392 builds. I predict the day will come when i have to do mine.

That was cool af
Can you list the parts you're going to use?
I’ll list the parts in a future video 👍🏼
Please remeber to add parts no. for cams and lifters!
I’ll add it later tonight!
How many miles did you have on it? Looking forward to the next vid.
113,000. It’s actually super clean internally for how many miles it has 👍🏼
So the intake valve steam sits higher than the exhaust one correct?
Mines just started misfiring at 80k miles I change the plugs and it got worse now I’m getting po300 and it runs like shit
That sucks I’m sorry
What exact valve springs did you use?
113,000 is not really a lot of miles, but I'm guessing for a Chrysler engine it is!?
The lifter issue usually presents itself much earlier
