My main/ first character is a mag dk, I really enjoy this class for soloing pretty much any content. I've switched between all three roles just by changing gear, skills, and cp. The only time I have sustain issues is if I'm healing at large, sustained battle in no cp Cyrodiil. I think the Breton is great for Magicka, the Nord or Orc for stamina or tanking, and the dark elf if you want to switch between the 2 or try hybrid. Really great, well made overview. Thank you! I have 5 dks on 2 platforms, but still find the information useful and helpful as always.
I'm definitely looking forward to the other classes to be covered so I can gain some more insight into them. I've been very heavily focused on my main DK tank for the longest time, only recently creating a magden toon. A few things I would add as annotations for anyone watching this though but were not DK centric or beginner related: - For mag DK, the burning spellweave set seems like a nice alternative set though less consistent than silks of the sun. It increases spell damage by 490 after using flame damage abilities instead of 400 but lasts 8 seconds and is on a 12 seconds cooldown. - For Stam DK, an alternative to Flames of Oblivion could be the Camouflaged Hunter from the fighter's guild skill line. It lacks the major prophecy from Flames of Oblivion but retains the Major Savagery for weapon critical, it also grants minor berserk (+5% damage) when dealing critical damage from the flank and adds 3% weapon damage from the fighter's guild passives. It loses out on the spell aspect of flames of oblivion but focuses more on the weapon side. - For DK Tank, definitely very situational and for more more advanced players since it requires veteran DLC dungeons to obtain but the upcoming Black Drake Villa contains a very potent monster helm set when grouped with Mag DKs since it creates an AoE that increases the flame damage enemies inside take by 5% and reduces the flame damage allies inside receive by 5% too. It's got a fairly good uptime too and a pretty sizeable radius.

Wish Dragon Knight had changes some for their current skill list. Like a poison based flame whip where if target is in a curtain distance it first pulls it to you and stuns them, then the second activation of the skill could do a power hit on the stunned target inflicting poison on hit (if target is within range does normal poison damage attack without pull but pulled-stunned or stunned targets will take bonus poison damage) Volatile spikes cause targets caught in initial blast radius to take a minor breach (lowers resistance) and inflicts them with a debuff that increases all damage over time damages, it will also return some damage taken back to melee attacker instead of increasing resistances/armour.
Bro I've been playing since the beta on XboxNa and now moving to PCNA but this has to be one of the most concise / complete break downs of a class I've ever seen. Great work easy Sub. Looking forward to the other classes. Necro next???

Go for it guys Necro both mag and Stam is great. Really quickly, corpses are generated from a lot of the Necro skills as well as anything dead on the ground. Some skills require corpses to activate. You will know when a corpse is able to be used because they will have a glow on them. I'm sure he will make one of these better explaining. But that is the basic jist of corpses.
Draw Essence can be a very useful sustain ability. Combined with a life steal enchantment on a restoration staff + 5 piece heavy armor, a magdk can solo world bosses easily with a relatively simple rotation (Draw Essence -> Heavy Attack). The key is to make sure you begin your heavy attack right after you activate draw essence; both will end at the same time, enabling you to begin the rotation again like clockwork. Also, this setup greatly benefits from the “molten armaments” ability! The reason this setup works so well is because your magicka sustain is infinitely supported by restoration heavy attacks (which synergizes with both the “revitalize” passive from the heavy armor skill line & the “cycle of life” passive in the restoration staff skill line) and the last phase of draw essence. In fact this setup works extremely well in large groups of enemies since draw essence is an A.O.E. ability that scales its magicka sustain based on the number of enemies nearby. Meanwhile, your health is infinitely sustained by the lifesteal enchantment and the first phase of draw essence. Lastly, your heavy armor protects you from taking too much damage, and its passives are all around very useful to making you immortal. Shalk’s exoskeleton can make for a decent heavy armor in this build since it quickly regenerates your ultimate (which is synonymous with sustain for dk’s), and it boosts your health, spell damage, and spell crit. Elf bane can improve your sustain by extending the length of your flame damage D.O.T abilities, which can be applied to spice up the rotation. Lastly, mythic items such as Malacath’s Band of Brutality or Ring of the Pale Order can be very useful. To this day, I find no better alternative to soloing world bosses with a magdk than this setup. While it’s not the quickest way to take down a world boss, it keeps you alive, gives you great sustain, and reduces your enemys’ health bars slow and steady. :)

I love this game because there are so many ways to build a character. I like a lot of the skills you recommend for healer, but I love the obsidian fist, it's just a fun skill. It might not be as good, but that's the fun in it right? But I get it because the DK has better defensive abilities than all the other classes. Most of the good heals come from the staff. I wish petrify did more too. It seems like it could have been a cool ability to like freeze a boss in place for quick heals or to harass the boss more as a tank. But the talons offer more CC and damage.
DK is my main Az well. I have one Tank/dps hybrid and a mag DK Also you forgot the effect of draw essence. it also heals you for a percentage of the dmg per enemy then refunds a potion of magicka. you can use it as an uh oh heal while damaging enemies. It’s great for mag DKs
I learned alot here because I'm the opposite, I've been a Stam DK main since I started this game, and I can't wrap my head around how mag Dk sustains. Also the look at the new CP helped.
I'll first say that my DK is a redguard so that impacts sustain a bit, but sometimes that can improve DPS even marginally is switching arrow barrage to endless hail since it matches the times of both noxious breath and claws. The change would certainly make the rotation easier and more static.
Wouldn’t suggest using Standard AND Destro ult. Usually one or the other on the back bar. Always Meteor on the front bar for the extra Mag. Any sustain the DK can get the better. We’re also going 7 light armor in a few weeks.

Oh boy, I choose wrongly when I started, I created an Night Blade Dunmer, It is good and all, but now I see that Dragon Knight fits Better to my style, I want to be as Versatile as Possible and I like to play Solo, and test various Fighting styles and Weapons, DK would've been a Better choice for me, also The skills its with The Dunmer, of any "Archetype" like an Assassin or Warrior, even Mage Also Dunmer is already Versatile, It would be Cool to try an Hibrid Solo build
Hey Adam quick question slightly confused around the tank build and the fighters guild passives they advise the are for slotted abiltys and the build has none slotted do I still need to invest skill points in them? Was following your older tank build guide but wanted to try the newer version.
Great stuff Adam! Glad to see you about to hit all the classes with their personal guides. I agreed with pretty much everything, especially the [ V e n o m o u s ] love. It's been my favorite set since it came out in Greymoor, even when no one used it because no one was reading the panel correctly. As soon as I did the math in my head, I was ON it. The only thing I might change from yours is the monster. I ran Selene's for over a year without changing it out. I loved it, and still do. But I would say Domihaus is nearly 1.5x as good. Not only does it have a better (1) benefit, but it also gives you +300 weapon damage *on top of* the AOE damage it does, which equals Selene's - and Selene's is only single target. So Domihaus can actually put up up to 10x the damage as Selene's in certain fights (cloudrest is one place). And 2nd fave is Velidreth because it's almost as much damage as Selene's, but hits multiple targets at the same time (with no loss in damage) and the (1) benefit is +129 Weap.Dmg which is better than the +Max.Stam. Keep up the good work! Love it!
I made DK. I'm new at the game. I was just wondering if I made the right decision picking a dark elf for race? My biggest reason was because I wanted to dual wield swords. Any feedback that you can give me on my decision and idea on my build??? And can I be a tank while dual wielding with my dark elf DK???

Sucks how they call it a "dragon knight" but it's actually a "dragon warlock". When I realized that, I created a Nightblade to be my main and am having far more fun even though I find it that it's still lacking something.
I wonder if ardent flame is the tank spec? Could you go over again which ardent flame spells you use for tank? you didnt repeat and use enough force the first 20 times.

Also, my first character ever was a DK Tank I designed based on a video you made a while ago. It's my favorite toon. On that note, what is the best Monster Set for a DK Tank? You mentioned Infernal Guardian, which I absolutely love, but folks I played with as this Tank said there were better ones (which I now forget the names of because I was brand new at the time) and recommended I get rid of the Infernal Guardian Monster set. What I like about the Infernal Guardian set is that it lobs a volley of fireballs at the farthest enemies.
This is a necro post. I'm running the standard key binds and having trouble strafing and casting abilities at the same time. I can't do weaving while moving and standing still gets me killed.
I don’t understand! I want to make a Magicka DPS build but I want to know where to spend my points and in what order? I played the game ages ago for a small amount of time. I have come back and I have 32 points to spend.
Looking forward to your take on the Warden, its my first 50+ toon but I'm not sure how I feel about it.. def has some cool animations and it feels kinda solid, but I feel like I'm steamrolled in pvp and I see other classes wasting mobs a lot faster.. so far my impression is that its okay at everything but not great at anything lol anyways.. great vid! My DK will probably be the next one I level :D
What about using harness Magicka for a solo Magicka DK? I’ve been using that a lot to help me clear content & solo WB’s but I noticed that isn’t in the general build.
two sword and boards you can't keep a crusher enchant up. Tanks will run sword and board front bar and a destro backbar. Commonly a frost for the brittle and the you put a crushing enchant on the frost staff and then you run wall of elements on your back bar and that keeps your crusher enchant up most of the time as long as you cast it fairly often. It used to be enchants worked differently so tanks could run two sword and board but that was years ago the enchants changed and now for a couple years it's been destro staff backbar for tanks. If you run 2 sword and board people won't really let you tank much vet content in hard prog content.
Wardens are so good! My favorite tank and healer, they can stam heal as well. I don't do a lot of dps but the animal companions are fun from my experience
I'm loving my dragon knight tank for my first playthrough of ESO, but I am seriously having a tough time staying alive during world boss encounters and dungeons. I'm level 21 and am wondering if that is the reason or if I am missing something crucial.
Respect for leveling as a tank. I can’t stand how slow questing is when you have no damage. Leveling as dps feels so much better than respec to tank at max lvl
@@bullit4170 so far; the grind is real. I was able to get a training set from a nice guy and that has been helping but I'm two weeks in and just hit level 38. The upside to this is that I have a group of friends I am leveling with so they are doing the majority of the damage. I think it would be absolutely painful to do solo. I would most likely level as dps and respec like you said!
Don't be afraid to put a few points into magicka bc some of the sustain abilities are magicka based I believe. Realistically as a tank, most of your points should be in health, obviously, but put enough into stam AND magicka to keep your sustain up

Stamina if you are dual wielding. Use the poison morphs of the ardent flame abilities too. Dark elf is fine, its my fav race.

Sucks how they call it a "dragon knight" but it's actually a "dragon warlock". When I realized that, I created a Nightblade to be my main and am having far more fun even though I find it that it's still lacking something.

Hmmm... I just noticed that you have containers for complete sets in your Inventory. Question: Where do you get those containers? Do you get the containers automatically once you have a complete set? Do you purchase these containers? Where can I buy them from if they can be purchased? Thanks in advance.
Also, my first character ever was a DK Tank I designed based on a video you made a while ago. It's my favorite toon. On that note, what is the best Monster Set for a DK Tank? You mentioned Infernal Guardian, which I absolutely love, but folks I played with as this Tank said there were better ones (which I now forget the names of because I was brand new at the time) and recommended I get rid of the Infernal Guardian Monster set. What I like about the Infernal Guardian set is that it lobs a volley of fireballs at the farthest enemies.

why the mage guild passive's when they rely on slotted mage guild skills (wich we dont even have in the build)?

I don’t understand! I want to make a Magicka DPS build but I want to know where to spend my points and in what order? I played the game ages ago for a small amount of time. I have come back and I have 32 points to spend.
Looking forward to your take on the Warden, its my first 50+ toon but I'm not sure how I feel about it.. def has some cool animations and it feels kinda solid, but I feel like I'm steamrolled in pvp and I see other classes wasting mobs a lot faster.. so far my impression is that its okay at everything but not great at anything lol anyways.. great vid! My DK will probably be the next one I level :D

What about using harness Magicka for a solo Magicka DK? I’ve been using that a lot to help me clear content & solo WB’s but I noticed that isn’t in the general build.
two sword and boards you can't keep a crusher enchant up. Tanks will run sword and board front bar and a destro backbar. Commonly a frost for the brittle and the you put a crushing enchant on the frost staff and then you run wall of elements on your back bar and that keeps your crusher enchant up most of the time as long as you cast it fairly often. It used to be enchants worked differently so tanks could run two sword and board but that was years ago the enchants changed and now for a couple years it's been destro staff backbar for tanks. If you run 2 sword and board people won't really let you tank much vet content in hard prog content.

Wardens are so good! My favorite tank and healer, they can stam heal as well. I don't do a lot of dps but the animal companions are fun from my experience

I'm loving my dragon knight tank for my first playthrough of ESO, but I am seriously having a tough time staying alive during world boss encounters and dungeons. I'm level 21 and am wondering if that is the reason or if I am missing something crucial.
Respect for leveling as a tank. I can’t stand how slow questing is when you have no damage. Leveling as dps feels so much better than respec to tank at max lvl
@@bullit4170 so far; the grind is real. I was able to get a training set from a nice guy and that has been helping but I'm two weeks in and just hit level 38. The upside to this is that I have a group of friends I am leveling with so they are doing the majority of the damage. I think it would be absolutely painful to do solo. I would most likely level as dps and respec like you said!

Don't be afraid to put a few points into magicka bc some of the sustain abilities are magicka based I believe. Realistically as a tank, most of your points should be in health, obviously, but put enough into stam AND magicka to keep your sustain up
But i like to play as tank and nord dragon knight but also with magika?
What is that addon that is saying dodge now etc?
