Returning to ESO this weekend for the first time in like 2 years. This video was great for catching up on updates in the game and refreshing my memory. It also got me really hype to play again. Thanks for the video
I'm actually on my 4th attempt of playing ESO, so I can relate. The first time I either didn't know a thing about ESO or even how MMORPGS and their systems work, so I got overwhelmed and dropped it. Other two attempts were because I started playthroughs with friends and they all bailed. Nearing level 20 now, which is the furthest I've been, and I'm enjoying it. So much so that I was really bummed about the server maintenance this morning lol. All I did was stop caring about what I'm "supposed" to be doing, and just started doing what I want to do which is exploring, and enjoying the story of anything I'm doing at the time in any order I want, and just learning one thing at a time so I don't stress out. Thankfully, ESO is so open-ended that doing anything I want in whatever order works in my favor. ESO and FFIV have honestly been the only mmorpgs that haven't overwhelmed me, but ZOS lets me play ESO for free like the gigachads that they are lol. Appreciate this guide video. You're doing Akatosh's work, my dude.
Played since launch and still sat and enjoyed it. I’d also say make sure to get medicinal use in the alchemy skill line so your potions last longer and will be up 100%. Also dont use the cash store to increase bag size on your character. There’s an in game merchant that will increase how many items you can hold by 10 per time by paying gold. Good video for beginners 👏
@@tyrellmoxley2425 The price increases massively each time you buy the next 10 bag spaces. Same as buying more bank space at the bank merchants. To find their locations you’re better off googling so you can see on a map.
One tip most players miss ... Is the ability to select a single target so your pets and companions only attack that one ... Most say it's done with a heavy attack but you can actually do it by holding square on PS when targeting the enemy ... it will give that enemy a nice white glow
I appreciate the video man! You summed it pretty much perfectly for me, the first three times I tried ESO I felt severely overwhelmed. Going on a fourth try though I find that I’m completely engulfed in it, and loving it. I think it took me playing WoW with my brother to truly appreciate ESO. I’m still super Noob level, but I literally don’t wanna play anything else currently.
Everyone talks about the Wood Elf passive like it helps stealth. It helps detect stealthed enemies by a few meters. Honestly a good choice if you wanna avoid gankers. Khajiit has an actual stealth detection reduction for sneaking.
Booted up ESO 7 years ago excited because of Skyrim, quit after about 2 hours. Now I’m back and have a fully developed brain so I’m ready to dedicate my life to the Scrolls!!
I have 275 hours or so in the game and still feel intimidated and overwhelmed. I can relate to it a lot. I started playing the game in Feb/March last year, and felt I could never get into it. It's daunting, even watching video's like your beginner's guide. The daily tasks I should do to develop my skills, the content, all dlc's, the things to do, the gear, levelling, crafting, etc. It's so much. Now I love The Elder Scrolls universe and have once again find the energy and motivation to get started again. Learning, getting better, getting most out of the game and such. Thanks for these kind of videos!
I just finished my fourth month playing ESO...I'm still figuring out some basic stuff...not long ago I learned that you can travel to a wayshrine in a different zone....that would have saved me a lot of frustration and time had I known sooner. I'm sure there are a lot of basic things still to learn. Appreciate your videos.
Great video. What I would give to go back to experience ESO again for the first time. This is by far the best MMO out there. Don’t believe all the negativity!
Man thank you for this. I've slowly started distancing myself from the game after a couple weeks because I was overwhelmed and felt like I was doing everything wrong and no other beginner guide really walks you through it. Buddy, you grabbed my hand and walked me through confusion. You answered every question and problem I had. Appreciate you!
You said it right off the jump about being lost and quitting. I'm giving it another shot! I'll definitely be subscribing for tips lol. It's crazy how you made it seem less overwhelming almost instantly. Thank you!
I quit my first few characters. Too much stuff to do. Well I smoked a little wacky Tobacky and realized there was just too much in the game to do and I got overwhelmed. So I just started mindlessly doing whatever quests was nearby and fell in love
you have a good teaching personality and style bro, i followed and was interested the entire time which is hard for me usually on these longer videos lol but im new and level 25 and have been running around clueless just trying to get levels. i appreciate this video man, so many more things i should be focused on!
You’ll probably never see this, but I totally agree with you about being overwhelmed in the beginning. I had no clue what I was doing and it takes time for things to sink in but I really enjoy the game now .
Awesome video! I have been playing somewhat casually for a few years and cannot tell you enough how helpful your videos are! Definitely helps make the game more fun! Also, I could be wrong, but I think if you get the most recent edition, it includes everything that came with the previous expansions. Warden and Necro were a part of past expansions, so I think they are typically included if you get the most current expansion. I started with the Greymoor expansion and both were included. Keep up the awesome work!
I first played back in 2016 and was EXACTLY the same as you. I played it for a little while but just couldn't get into it. Went back to it in 2018 and something just clicked. Since then I play ESO on and off a few times a year.
Starting playing ESO only yesterday. Having an absolute blast! Can't believe how big the game is! Only trouble I had was some bored basement dweller following me around and demanding to duel, so I took him to a place I knew was inhabitated by an NPC I couldn't kill and used him to complete an achievement.
This is so helpful! I'm returning to ESO after an extended break to find- CP points reset Skills reset And struggling to find how I had set my character up! Thanks again Brah for all your help with these videos 😊
The ESO Collection (base game+chapters) comes the dlc classes (Necromancer+Warden), but buying individual chapters on the crown store won’t give the classes for free, you need to buy them separately in there.
Thank you very much for all the work you put into this. I tried ESO when it came out and hated it. I decided to try it again this month and was definitely lost. Your video has helped me so much that I am enjoying playing at long last!
I remember playing the game when it was released... as a huge elder scrolls fan the idea of an online es universe was crazy. I have quit for years now but I still come back to watch some videos and I'll never forget that game
Installing ESO now. I did play it for a little bit a few years ago but ended up quitting because I didn't know what I was doing. Huge MMO fan but with a lack of good mmo's out these days I decided to jump into eso again. Your video has already helped out. 🍻 Heres to not wuitting this time
As someone that's coming into this game knowing some, but not a lot about it, this video has been earth shatteringly helpful! There is so much I didn't know and would've annoyed me about the game if you didn't show me what to do in this video! Thank you for this!!
No, I played ESO in Alpha, then Beta and on launch and most of the issues we reported in Alpha are still present in the game, they're what held the game back from true greatness.
this video is super clutch...looking for a new mmo and you broke it down perfectly. i bought the base game YEARS ago but never downloaded it so i really appreciate you explaining the differences between dlc's, expansions and eso plus.
This is by far the best beginner guide I’ve watched. Thank you for going through all of this, you answered so many of my questions. I’ve wanted to play this for so long but was always too intimidated by how much is in this game.
I think it would be cool one day to have a vendor that sells trial gear and arena gear as well as the weapons from those kind of like the golden in cyrodil
I literally just started playing yesterday...and yes. Overwhelming is a bit of an understatement. I'm so confused, going to watch more of your video. Thanks for making these.
quit my first time after 20 minutes of confusion. 1 year later... picked it up again couple of days ago. now at lvl 15 and now addicted. watching eso videos to help me understand more of the game. Thanks!
It's actually crazy how identical my first experience was to yours, I also made a sorcerer, played a bit, didn't enjoy, watched deltia's magicka dk build video, made a magicka dk, had the time of my life.
I quit twice over 5 years after only a few levels and just picked it back up for a third time. The videos help a ton and now I’m lvl 30. Farthest I’ve made it without stopping lol.
You can hit a sale price on the game too. For under 20 USD, I bought deluxe edition download of ESO base game plus all expansions (including Necrom). The expansions have been released annually (May-June) ever since 2017. They also release 3 DLC per year, but I did not buy those. I expect it will take me several years to chew through the 20 dollar purchase before I"m hungry for more.
I went all in from the beginning. I remember being in glenumbra so confused and in awe of so much. People running around, a dog kept following me whimpering to get my attention. @@coreybroussard5264 yeah basically. It still takes the same amount of exp, but you'll have more tools. You earn the faster progression of alts, it's in no way given to players. The more tools you acquire, the better you'll be at levelling. I treat my ESO account like it's the main character, and all the characters are tools made to help me acquire more things and progress through activities. For example I have a vampire Khajiit speed/crafting build which I used before I had multiple crafters and I still use it to steal, gather, transmute, etc. Even CP is a tool that you can immediately use on new alts. Same goes with gear, the more tools you have the more efficient you'll be able to be.
THIS ^^ What I did was create some alts as I was levelling my main and sent them gold from my main just so I could get the mount training done each day on them and when I do go to level them I will be able to get around faster and/or have a bit more inventory capacity.
Great guide! Yesterday I watched a beginner tutorial for Guild Wars 2, the guy answered none of my questions. You did the opposite. That was very informative, thank you! Only questions I have left, but I went on reddit to find answers, are can I get cool mounts and cool houses ingame without crowns. For mounts, not really it seems (5 or 6), and houses, yes, the ones that were here when the game launched. Just a suggestion if you ever do another video like this in the future. I heard a lot of bad things about the monetization and the loot boxes, so a few words about this would have been cool.
I haven't played since a little after the Warden was released. This was a great refresher and helpful to know all the newer stuff that has been added. Great video
Man, I started playing ESO again a few weeks ago after a long hiatus. Im currently at lvl 19 and havent left Southern Elsweyr once and I started in Khenarthi's Roost.
I used to play WoW, Neverwinter and FFIV. This is by far my favorite MMORPG. All the people I've met so far have been really friendly. At first I thought the Dungeons were a bit too easy. But we just had a full team wipe yesterday 😅😅😅 I love this game!
Just started playing this week and I’m so lost I’m just going around doing random quests as I see them. I figured I’ll be able to focus more on a build later on with skills being able to be reset
I have “Elder Scrolls Tamriel Unlimited” with “The Explorer’s Pack” that I started playing in 2015 with my daughter and son-in-law. I quit playing in about 2017 and am just now coming back in 2023. I also have “ES V Skyrim Special Edition” that I have not touched period. I am very bad at something’s, but ok at others. By the way I should add that I’m 71 years old and retired, but I was a database programmer and a engineering tech so I’m no dummy with computers, just new to gaming.
I need to add, I didn’t think you could play solo and get anywhere. I stayed away from dungeons because I was playing solo, but since watching you I will now do dungeons!

Wow, thank you for this extensive beginner's guide, although i am not entirely a beginner, but i quit the game back in 2016, i was a VR14 at that time, but yes, after 7 years of quitting, this kind of guide really help me refresh a little bit. I will be playing again soon after 7 long years of quitting, i just hope i won't be underwhelmed by the dozens of DLCs that have been out thorughout these years.
Great video, and nice introduction, im thinking about going into the game, former wow player Question about the scaling 1. Will dungeons ever be Hard if it just scale to you 2. Will mobs beside world boss ever be hard if it scales to you 3. Does gear upgrades even feel different when its scaling? 4 same question about raid 5. What about scaling in pvp?
I've been playing for years and I never knew that the vents would reveal the bonus loot, I thought you just had to be careful and avoid them since they'd damage the antiquity
I haven't played the game for a while and wanted to try it again - - but the game changed so much from the last time I played it, and I am a bit lost. I was trying to figure out how to use the Wayshrine and looking for my character skills. Lol! Halp!!! TIA!!! :)
I notice DLC classes tend to be good at everything, Arcanist and Necro all have a skill tree for each role, if you look at the dragon knight class, you'll see you can either be dps or tank, I know there are healing abilities on dragonknight but those usually play into sustain for tank players, same for sorcerer, it's a base class designed to do damage and not much else
I'm hoping to get it on the next sale with necrom and I'm really excited I never got to experience it and I have been replaying all my bethesda games and need to play this one already!
I'd love to be able to play ESO, but my internet connection has over 700ms of latency. 😂 My only questions are, can I be a werewolf, summon wolves in combat, and have a Dire Wolf as a mount? Liked and subscribed. Thanks for the guide.

Has to subscribe over the RuneScape shout-out. OG since 01' 🥺
Deltia is the goat. Been watching him for years at this point.
I somehow got the warden and necromancer classes shortly after buying the Blackwood Edition (not upgrade) so they might be included.
Thank you for updating me on this
Easiest subscribe ever. Thanks for all the information brother
Great video, and nice introduction, im thinking about going into the game, former wow player
Question about the scaling
1. Will dungeons ever be Hard if it just scale to you
2. Will mobs beside world boss ever be hard if it scales to you
3. Does gear upgrades even feel different when its scaling?
4 same question about raid
5. What about scaling in pvp?
Well done, just came back to this game. Going to enjoy the lvling, story and exploration
while watching this video, i started downloading the game again after 2 years. guess youve done your work brah :)
Great video. You made me to play this game again and I will definitely buy the new expansion. Keep it up. Cheers
I've been playing for years and I never knew that the vents would reveal the bonus loot, I thought you just had to be careful and avoid them since they'd damage the antiquity
So helpful. Thank you. Have been looking for this video.
Helpful.. still extremely confused. Its so much!!!
I haven't played the game for a while and wanted to try it again - - but the game changed so much from the last time I played it, and I am a bit lost. I was trying to figure out how to use the Wayshrine and looking for my character skills. Lol! Halp!!! TIA!!! :)
Good work squire! I’m approaching CP300 so this was really useful, cheers 👍
So happy I found this video.
wow nice. you really put a lot of work into this
It's about the same for other mmorpg that is years in with many mechanics over the years.
Using a guide helps
I notice DLC classes tend to be good at everything, Arcanist and Necro all have a skill tree for each role, if you look at the dragon knight class, you'll see you can either be dps or tank, I know there are healing abilities on dragonknight but those usually play into sustain for tank players, same for sorcerer, it's a base class designed to do damage and not much else
I started the same then deleted my mage so overwhelming you helped now I main tank warden and I have a wood elf assassin
OMG thank you bro. Jesus Christ i was so confused and lost..thank you100× Big respect✊🔥👑😎
Thank you! It was useful not only to complete beginners
SUPER helpful guide - thanks!!!! SOOO hooked on ESO rn too.
That was exactly my experience back when it came out... BIG THANKS to DELTIA'S GAMING for giving me direction
thank you so much for the guide .. you r a savior dude 😁
Just got a new carbon black xbox after being out of gaming for a couple of years and thinking of picking this up.
Thank you very much for this video! I’m returning and this covered a lot of my questions.
Anyway to get the old boxes back and the hot bar at the top? Inventory is a mess too, anyway to show all your inventory in one box?
That’s what I’m doing right now haha first time I quit didn’t understand a lot hoping things will be different this time haha
I'm hoping to get it on the next sale with necrom and I'm really excited I never got to experience it and I have been replaying all my bethesda games and need to play this one already!
Very handy vid after about a year and a half break
I'd love to be able to play ESO, but my internet connection has over 700ms of latency. 😂 My only questions are, can I be a werewolf, summon wolves in combat, and have a Dire Wolf as a mount? Liked and subscribed. Thanks for the guide.
Thank you for this video. Helped a lot 🎉
Your videos make my day
