There are 2 methods: 1) Release the swing relatively at the bottom of the swing arch and immediately doublejump. 2) Probably the one you're reffering to. You hit the boost button and release the swing in a very precice timing. Honestly, I'm still not sure what's the correct timing.
I always use the lowest swing speed possible for each tier. When swinging, I always hold the cimb button, seems to make the arch faster.I usually don't boost in the swing itself. I know the leap seems to have absurd speed, and you're right, that's because of the precice timing of the boost.
I give you props man. Shit takes patience. i did this exact thing sometime back in 06-07. Took me forever but got all the ultimate medals with both characters expecting to unlock Carnage or something but didn't unlock jack shit. Only thing these races gave me were nonstop panic attacks lmao.

And damn race involving jumping on beams always gets me. I can do everything else with relative ease. Any advice for jumping on beams or is it all about precise timing?
It's about knowing when to press foward when when to let go of it. You could try to cheese it be cropping from each beam and jumping to the next one from really close, but I don't know if it's possible to get ultimate medal this way. I am trying to do all the races, and at least for me it's very hard, the characters (both spidey and venom) are really hard to calibrate, they always either go too left / right / up / down. Any tips? I'm using a controller
How do you swing so fast? Even with max speed unlocked I can’t swing as fast as you can with base speed, also how do you do that really long and fast jump, like when you start on the ground and leap really far and fast
Fast swing: I hit boost (punch) right as I'm about to release the swing. The timing is quite precise, but if you do ir right, you'll get this speed boost as you've seen in the video. Fast leaps: It's called swing cancel. When you press swing on the ground, Spidey does this leap before shooting a web. You can interrupt the web by doublejumping early enough. It's very easy to do. I completed all races with at least bronze metal, I also unlocked the Peter Parker suit from the fifth Johnny Storm race but the game still tells me that I completed 59/60 races. How is it possible? I just wish to play with the Black suit...

I 100% agree. While I can assure you that this was done on the swing speed 2 (the lowest possible), I struggled a lot with easy races 9 and 12 back when I was a beginner.
That's because of bad audio mixing/programming. Whether I set the audio to stereo or mono, it sounds like the game is set to surround. If spidey isn't far from the camera or if he's looking towards it, you can hear him clearly.
How on earth do you get good enough to do the hard and insane races? Like do you just have to keep practicing the races over and over, or do you have any tips or strategies for completing these? Thanks. Some races take me more thank one try to finish with ultimate medal. I don't recall practicing any races in particular, I'd simply do them all in one sit, gradually getting more and more consistent.Except for the race in 40:11, the jumps for that race require specific movement. I'm sorry, but I find this pointless. You're already aiming to get ultimate medals in a speedrun and getting below means you're losing time, which is your punishment for not performing well. Ultimate medals also arn't necessary to complete the game 100%.

I press boost (punch) right before releasing the swing. If done correctly, the speed carries to the leap. It takes some practice to get the timing correctly. This is a trick I learned from a fellow speedrunner named Veekron. Later after making this video, I learned that you gain an even greater speed boost by immediately chaining a double jump.
You press punch and immediately let go of the swing button. The timing is really precise, so take your time to practice this until you get it right. Something I havn't done in the video (because I didn't realize this during recording), is chaining a double jump after releasing the swing, it gives an additional speed boost - regardless of whether or not you succeeded to get the swing boost.
"Easy Race 4" - on the roof where the first checkpoint is in the form of a spider circle - I have a pipe on the roof, not an empty roof like yours. wtf?
That's because you just completed the Rhino story mission. Continue the story for a while and it will disappear. It's doable with the pipe, but a bit trickier.

Hey I've noticed how you seem to fling yourself pretty fast and far when swinging, read some replies about you explaining the tech and think it's really helpful tho. Although it is precise and I've only done it by trying over and over and accidently doing, can't do it mid race to save my life. Was wondering if you could show off the tech with your inputs displayed so I could get a better idea on how fast/when you punch then release? If not maybe refer to somewhere I can find something like that? Because It's really hard to find info on this game speedwise. Either way thanks, you are awesome :)
While swinging, hold down the web trigger and press the punch button to get a small boost in speed. If you time it right, you can carry this boost of speed forward after you release the web, effectively catapulting yourself forward. Press the boost button just before you release your web and you'll boost your momentum for the next web swing.
I have done all the races inc the 5 johnny storm races but when i check my city goals it still says i have 1 more race to do idk if i messed up and did the johnny storm race before i completed all the races but it seems im doomed to never get the black suit i have everything other than the last race to do any ideas what im doing wrong?
I've never got this issue myself, but I've been asked about this too many times to just brush it off as simply missing a race. Unfortunately I don't know how to solve this. My best advice is to scout the city in hopes that you did miss a race. Good luck.

If you look at the speedrun leaderboards at speedrun.com , you'll see that all top runners exploit this to the maximum - some even do this better than me (like the aforementioned Veekron).

Yes, I used to do that all the time before I learned about the boosts. You can release the swing at the bottom of the arch and immediately chain a double jump to get a pseudo-boost. It's not as fast doing proper boosts, but it may give you enough edge to beat the races. Should I make a new video getting all ultimate medals without boosting? At the time, I was just playing the most optimally I can. I never thought it would confuse the viewers. (Note: At the time of making this video, I didn't realize that chaining double jumps is useful for boosted swings as well, so don't forget that if you ever attempt to master boosting.)

Easy Race 9 is absolutely not "easy." It's the only easy race I needed to upgrade my swing speed to get the Ultimate medal.

No. The 5th Johnny race unlocks one of the Peter Parker costumes, I don't remember which.

You can release the swing at the bottom of the arch and immediately chain a double jump to get a pseudo-boost. It's not as fast doing proper boosts, but it may give you enough edge to beat the races.
Should I make a new video getting all ultimate medals without boosting? At the time, I was just playing the most optimally I can. I never thought it would confuse the viewers.
(Note: At the time of making this video, I didn't realize that chaining double jumps is useful for boosted swings as well, so don't forget that if you ever attempt to master boosting.)

You press punch/boost right as you're about to release your swing. The timing is quite precise, so it might take a while before you nail it.
What you can also do but I didn't do in the video is to double-jump imediately to increase the boost even more.
