This was one of my favorites on the Gamecube growing up. Ultimate Spider-Man was actually made by Treyarch before anyone of us knew what Treyarch would become. The combat is fairly simple, but the movement is fun and silky smooth. The story is also excellent and plays out like an episode of the TV show. It's also a great addition to be able to play as Venom, as you get two totally different play styles. I made sure to play this on the PC to get the best graphics possible. Hope you enjoy!

YES. I think killing him off was really dumb and pointless. What's the point of bringing the story back at that point?
This game was a good majority of my childhood. Would play it everyday and get angry at the Electro chase and Carnage boss battle.
King Sheep One of the hardest thing to do in the game
I loved the venom bits. Loved surviving as venom as long as I could with SHIELD attacking. Also I thought the electro chase was relatively simple. just be wary when he stops to do his explosion thing. Otherwise it was simple manner of remembering to jump on the right buildings so you don't get left behind.
Gusto Nusto the electro chase was so annoying that I could never beat it
Ashen Paradise looking back to it it is as good as I remember
The Electro chase is really easy once you memorize his pattern and remember you can't damage him.
I eventually learned how to break Carnage in each room/phase. Carnage can be really annoying if you don't do enough damage to him in all the rooms and don't continuously combo him with your tendrils and combos like cracking his spine. If you're going to throw him throw him close to a wall so you can combo him right after before he recovers besides that keep him close and keep comboing him until he dies try not to do any claw combos as he'll easily escape.
The best Spider-Man game in my opinion...very underrated...

Yes Ultimate Spider-Man is my favorite also it's so fun and has so much to do and it's fun to screw around with Venom.

This game is incredible, the ultimate spiderman comics are fucking fantastic.
This is what Treyarch was doing before Call of Duty, one of my favorite games in that time

If they were to make it now, (or at least in 2011) it would've been about Miles Morales. But I'm totally cool with that!
@@DiamondBatToons nah they should just make a sequel about Peter. Keep the same graphic style but update the gameplay to be like the insomniac games but different enough to be its own thing. I love the whole aesthetic and feel of the ultimate universe and the way this game brought it to life. I literally felt like I was playing a comic book and that's style I think really should have been explored more even though I still like the more realistic style too. Hopefully they give the ultimate universe it's own series of games one day.

Marvel Week continues with Ultimate Spider-Man. This was one of my favorite games on the Gamecube and it was actually made by Treyarch before they made World at War or Black Ops. Hope you enjoy!

This game was amazing! The beat down that Spidey gives Venom at the end was awesome!
I swear, they put that kid balloon bit in there just so we might finally have revenge after all those annoying SOBs in the Spider-Man 2 game.

The electro chase was the hardest level I’ve ever played in a game lmao so many years of just saying fuck this and giving up 😂😂😂
I literally quit the game as a kid because of that level lol I felt so satisfied getting pass it once I played it again as I got older

Venom is supposed to feed on brain juice or something. But I think in the game he absorbed people's adrenaline or something.
EDIT: In fact now that I remember, the human torch races were the most annoying. Especially the last one where he left those fire clouds mid air to stop you.

The voice actor for Spider-Man in this game Sean Marquette sounds similar to Josh Keaton of Spectacular Spider-Man show. Ironically, Keaton played ultimate Spider-Man in shattered dimensions game.
I feel so old- this game was amazing, it was my first ever spiderman game, then i played another spiderman game on Wii (good lord that was ages ago)

This game from 2005 has a much better plot than spiderman 2 (2023). I wish I could play this again on new gen consoles… also playing as venom was awesome
I wish they would make another spiderman game. I think they should stick to this concept. maybe add destructible environments and more interior places. I think with all spiderman games the flaw is, after beating the campaign their really isn't anything to do after. They should make the villains randomly attack so your constantly busy even after the story. An with next gen they could do a gta like time clock so you can literally watch weather an time change while you play. maybe make random stuff happen like floods or earthquakes so it's not the same boring save civilians from goons. Just a thought. It would be cool I think.
Just wondering who would you want making it? For me i Wouldn't want RockSteady it be the one. I know that sounds crazy, and maybe I'm just being different from everyone else I'll explain.
See i kinda feel like another game developer needs to come step up and say hey ROCKSTEADY not the only one making 10/10 superhero games, WE GOT THIS(dashie voice lol) And RS can actually have a challenge at superhero games and maybe go back and forward. Just my take though.

I love USM. But if there was anything I could do to make it better, it would be
- unlimited wallrun
- be able to sprintcrawl like in sm2
- charge jump
- dodge like in sm2
- have more fight moves
- replayable story missions
- replayable Storm races
- replayable combat tours (before 36 completed tours)
- remove enemy blocking
- create enemy attack cues
- less goons in endgame tours
- rodeo goons with webs like in sm2
- release dev tools so usm can be modded more
* have a mode where you can select which bosses are free to roam in the city, so you can defeat them as spider-man or venom! or roam as spider-man and defeat venom and vice versa!
edit:
- have day and night cycle instead of having to switch hero
- optimize & fix on pc and have uncapped framerates
If you want the day and night cycle/weather option The Amazing Spider-Man allows you to change the time of day after beating the game. Everything else can mostly be found in Spider-Man PS4 likely.
This is to spiderman games what tobey spiderman is to spiderman movies. The GOAT.

If we get to play as Venom for even a few minutes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, I hope it to be similar to this.
I don't have a PS5, but if Venom is actually playable, or even black suit Spidey, I'm going to buy it just for that.

I still have this game on PS2 since I was 12 years old, brings me back memories looking at the cutscenes. I love the graphics to this game, it was like an animated series into a comic book together. It's to bad Blackcat wasn't in it that would've been more interesting, or doc ock as well. I still play and love this game which I consider the coolest Spider-Man game ever along with; Spider-Man 1, 2, and 2 enter electro. At 12:51 Spidey came in like a wrecking ball best part to the scene with Spider-Man vs Rhino love it. 👌🔥🔥🔥💯

@MusicAndKeyboard: I figured you could, I've seen some interesting mods for the game over the years. I just to wish someone would mod the other characters to be playable like Carnage maybe Silver Sable and Electro or some of the other bosses.
@MusicAndKeyboard: I just looked and found a few videos from a few months ago to about 9 months ago. I swear there was a Carnage mod on RUclips from about 10 years ago but I think it's been deleted. There have been some character swaps and boss replacements like I described above but it mostly seems to be pretty recent. Also just read a comment that said a team discovered a beta of the Xbox version but were being selfish with it hopefully it gets released to the public as things like that can be extremely precious as well as informative.
@MusicAndKeyboard: Yes that's pretty good wide screen I understand but personally I don't think it's necessary for every game to run in 60 frames a second. While it does look very smooth things like animations that were made to run at 30 frames may look weird or off. Personally I think the cell shading and comic book look sound effects (from objects) helps the most as almost 20 years later the game still looks beautiful.
@MusicAndKeyboard: Oof really? That sucks to hear but I'm glad to hear about now rather then never have an explanation. Yes I understand that feeling there was meant to be a sequel at some point but I don't think it ever made it into development. I have imagined things like Ultimate Doc Ock and what might happen with Ultimate Venom if the story continued what I'm most curious about is the slightly loose plot thread with Dr. Doom and his “sample” which you can see a bit in the concept art. I personally don't mind the game ending as open as it did. Another thing that ever so slightly bugs me is the fact that the model of the prison where Eddie goes to take care of Trask in the ending exists in the game out in the waters you can see it from The Place if you go far enough away from the docks but can never reach it. I've tried with Action Replay (2007 GameCube version) but as you know there are invisible walls all around that repel you if you try to pass them as well as an invisible ceiling and wall barrier a couple 10,000 meters up according to the map. At least I'm pretty sure that's where the model is stored it looks like part of it loads in the distance but not all of it.

as a kid, the carnage boss battle was so hard because of the doors, I would be abso beating my controller up, using all my focus and strength to try and get them open them.
Yeah man, I played it on my gamecube when I was like 5 and I still remember the extreme frustration and my little fingers aching so hard trying to open those stupid doors lmao

Now, the MCU should take notes from this game, this is how you manage funny scenes and serious scenes, with out being cringe, of course would'nt be as dark as this, but come on, it has great treatment

The voices in here are the voices I hear in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics. Same thing goes for The Ultimates. I hear the voice cast of Ultimate Avengers in the Ultimates comics.
