I have been to Chicago and paid for a aged and sorry, the the price is not worth it. Come to Florida and Texas, you can absolutely make a steak for less and make it taste just as good
A lot of places you pay for the ambiance and prestige. That's what good marketing can do for a place. Bragging for the customer afterwards and income for the restaurant. I'll admit I've succumbed to it more times than I can admit because a "name" means something when you want to take your woman out for a night.
The steak they showed at Tony’s of Lexington was about $58 per steak. Plus you pay individually for sides say $12 for the mac & cheese $12 for a brussels sprouts. And then of course depending on your alcohol tastes you’re probably looking at at least another $60-$100 for a bottle of wine so you’re looking at $350-$400 for the entire meal for two including tax and tip
There are high-end restaurants which charge $1000 for the meal without drinks in New York City. Moreover, you must make reservations well in advance just to get in the restaurant. A normal steakhouse will be about $100 for two people with drinks in most cases.
I have been to some fancy, expensive steakhouses. Never tasted anything that compared to Texas Roadhouse’s Dallas Filet. $25 for an 8 ounce with two sides (I pick the chili for one-maybe not a normal side for steak, but it’s delicious). Anywhere else, I’ll ask for steak sauce or a topping, but honest to God TR’s steaks are better without anything added (not even salt).
@@leslienunya3406 And, at least at the one I go to, sometimes the staff will all of a sudden gather in the aisles between tables and do a line dance for a few minutes.
For excellent steaks for considerably less $$, try any number of steak houses in either Omaha, Nebraska or Kansas City, Missouri. For the best Prime Rib try Lawry’s Prime Rib in Beverly Hills. You can get a taste of English Cuisine as they offer Yorkshire Pudding with your meal and for dessert, English Trifle. The dinner comes with 5 choices of cut ranging from $48 to $79.
What you missed about the $425 Wagyu steak at Cut was the word "sharable". And Wagyu is the most expensive steak (Kobe beef being the most expensive Wagyu). And Cut is extremely prestigious restaurant from a top celebrity chef. I just read that the average meal at Cut is $117 per person. You can get a great $30 steak in Texas. Even $20 sometimes.
Wagyu is available everywhere in the states these days. We’ve been cross breeding them with American cattle for years. We just can’t call it pure Wagyu for legal reasons.
@@Ira88881 since CUT was calling it Wagyu, then legally it must be. Also, I think they mentioned the prefecture the meat came from, but as is always a possibility, I could be wrong about that.
@@misterkite I thought it’s an issue because of the name, that only Japanese companies hold the copyright to it, and that American beef of this type is all hybrid, not pure wagyu.
If you were to go to a decent upscale steakhouse in Texas, you could expect to pay $100-$200 for two people, potentially higher at a few places. More homestyle steak meals go for as low as $15 for steak and potatoes to $50 for better sides or drinks per person. Pappas Bros Steakhouse and Del Frisco's are famous among the high-end places, and Lorena General Store is a famous homestyle place.
Bern's is amazing ,as a wine guy ,what blew me away was the wine list . It is literally hundreds of pages long . I think I spent over an hour reading through it and didn't get nearly all of the way .With so many great choices ,picking one ( or two ) is very difficult . That 600,000 bottle wine cellar makes my own 4,000 or so bottle cellar look tiny . I believe they also sell steaks , LOL.
I lived in the Tampa area for over 25 years and had the privilege of dining at Bern's nine times. The wine selection, steak menu, and desert selection make it a "not to be missed" choice. Easily one of the top 10 restaurants in North America.
@@ScrapyardApe - Well, if you are ever in the mind to again.. I would be happy to join you.. I work at USF, so its an easy leap for me.. very interesting, the meal experience.
Kabir, if you love eating lots of meat, you should try a Brazilian steakhouse. They bring the cuts of meat to the table and cut it onto your plate. Of course they would love if you fill up on their totally fantastic salad bar and cheaper cuts of meat. Make sure you don't. It's an experience.
I ate at the Columbus Ruby's a while back. Fantastic steak. We had crab legs, two steaks, her a glass of nice, me a couple fingers of Blanton's Bourbon, and a shared dessert. I think it was right around $200 before tip. Expensive, but worth it for an anniversary dinner or special occasion.
With price you have to consider location and branding behind the price besides just the product. So the $400 steak is a shareable Wagyu Tomahawk the size of your head, which is anchored by one of the most famous chefs in the world (Wolfgang Puck) and it was located in Beverly Hills which is the poshest of the posh, where you could probably find a $50+ bottle of water.
there is a steak house here where that has a buffet last time i was in there was before the covid jumped in and its $12.00 a person kids and senior citizens get a small discount you can go up to the person grilling stake and the buffet all you want to eat
Wow! Nashville made this list TWICE! I've lived here all my life and never been to either of these steakhouses. They're pretty expensive. I might have to splurge though. They looked GOOD! I work down the street from Ruth Chris and Sperry's is about two miles from where I live.
Born and raised in Tampa FL I can personally testify that Bern's Steak House in the most amazing steak restaurant. The selection of beef cuts is plentiful and the largest wine collections in the world. You can take a tour of the wine room. How expensive a meal can be is based on the cut of meat and wine you order, but it is affordable and the perfect place for celebrating any occasion or no occasion.
Don't live in Tampa but I do live in Central FL and been to Bern's many times - especially back when we had season tickets for the Bucs. Still have family there. The wine list is like the NY phone book and you NEED a sommelier to help you. Steaks are by the ounce and cut to order. If you want a 10-ounce steak, one of the steak cooks will cut the steak, put it on a scale and it will be DEAD ON 10 ounces.
@@RealTechZen Bern's is actually fairly inexpensive compared to some of the others and it is fun experience. But of course excellent steak dinners at a lower price are abundant. One of the best ever is available in my back yard.
If you're coming in the fall and you'll be here the first few weeks of October, come to Dallas. That's when the State Fair of Texas is running which is an experience all by itself but there is a college football game one of the weekends between the Universities of Texas and Oklahoma. Being Texas, you can also see entertaining high school games as well as the Dallas Cowboys. While you can go to a high-end steakhouse like Knife, there are plenty of second tier steakhouses where you will get a delicious steak and you won't be dropping $425. However, bear in mind that if you order your steak medium well, the chef will come to your table, draw his weapon, and ask you if you're sure. You will respond "I meant to say medium rare" and he will holster his weapon and go back to the kitchen and cook your steak.
Really wind the chef's clock, try asking for ketchup. Occasionally a server in upscale steakhouses will ask if I want any steak sauce. My reply is always, "if it needs steak sauce then I'm sending it back".
One of the best prime ribs I ever ate was in a small Arkansas town off Rte. 40 as my son and I were driving across the country. He found it on line, read the reviews and went there. It was amazing snd priced right-$25.00. With drinks and dessert, the whole meal was about 125.00 with tip. Obviously the high end restaurants have celebrity chefs and amazing apps, but if you just want a great piece of well cooked meat, there are plenty of great steakhouses that offer reasonably priced meals.
I recently went to a steak house for my birthday with my girlfriend and parents and between the 4 of us with 2 starters each an entrée 6 total sides 2 deserts and 2 bottles of wine we spent over $700
I went to a fundraiser last weekend (it was to support our local veteran society so very low key, outside bbq) and had some of the best steak I've had in years. It was just a couple of vets with some mean bbq skills slinging 14 oz steaks for $20 with two sides. I think one of the local farms donated the meat. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly (medium for me). Wish they did that every month. 😋
Kabir, you appeared to be surprised learning of a $400+ steak dinner. Well, this may not always be the case, but while living in L.A. many years, one of many things that I learned is that when restaurants' food items are priced this high or higher, it is most likely considered a high-end establishment. High-end restaurants are usually frequented by Celebrities and Upscale executives, business owners, and .
That 425$ tomahawk cut is 56to 58 ounces which is 1.6 to 1.8 kg and comes with your choice of starter sides and dessert and is good for 3to 4 person so basically its family style in a way or definitely NOT meant for single person. 3 friends and i did try it few years back and could not finish the steak and 3 of are are serious carnivores. We had atleast 1/4 or the meat still left with sides good enough for a full meal for one. At that time the total price was 320.00 with all sides ( 3 course), so basically with tip came to around 100$ per person. Not bad for a micheline rated 5 start restaurant . If you are a drinker then wines, beer and spirit will set your wallet back a lot more,, This is where most food establishments make money
3:25 Both Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse and Jeff Ruby's Precinct (also steak heavy/similar menu) are only about 15 to 20 minutes away from me, but I haven't eaten at either yet. I have eaten at Jeff Ruby's restaurants Carlo and Johnny, and the now defunct Waterfront (it was a barge on the river, and moved on). Very good steaks, but that tomahawk you were looking at is $115. Not outrageous for an upper end steakhouse, but a "special night" kind of meal. All but the smallest/cheapest cuts are above $50.
You can go to The Nordic Lounge is Charlestown RI for an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet, that also features prime ribs and steaks, plus tons of sides, gourmet desserts and confections & again, all the lobstah your heart desires. It ends up being like, $125 per person.
Here in the US there are numerous places that have challenges - eat a certain amount of meat in a brief period of time, & the whole dinner's free. The Big Texan, in Amarillo, TX, comes to mind. But, yeah, seriously - there are plenty of inexepensive steak joints all over. You just gotta do a bit of research & find 'em. This video is all about high-end expensive joints.
I like mine VERY rare in the middle, but VERY dark and crusty on the outside. A good sear really gives the beef fat a richer flavor. Also, don't hesitate to put real butter on a steak. The combination is something you'll never forget. Besides steaks, the variety of hamburgers across the US can be mind-blowing. An example? I stopped at a little roadside hamburger stand in Green River, Wyoming in 1986. My girlfriend and I got a half-pound burger that was 50% beef & 50% bison. Big enough that we could split it and still be satisfied, and so flavorful that neither one of us took long to plow through our half.
I like to order medium well. If I get the meat and it's not quite medium we'll, it's good anyway that way. If you stop in Phoenix, go to Rustler's Rooste. You can get a steak for $30-35 or all you can eat ribs for $25. Plus you can sit by the window and enjoy views of the city, day or night. Or if the weather is nice, see if the patio is open.
Reasonably I should say you should pay around $100-$120 for a nice steak dinner for 2. A lot of it is atmosphere at these places and the high end service. I totally agree that chain restaurants are a bit lower quality than the "one owner type places.
If you go to a very fancy steakhouse, like “Cut” - you probably will pay hundreds of dollars for a steak, but it is probably waygu, organic & will cut like butter. Those are special occasion meals, not just a regular experience. We have an old school place called, “the Bullpen” in Redondo Beach, California that does a great salad , side & steak for $50-60. I’m happy with that or grilling in the backyard.
Medium rare for me. I love this place in Iowa called the Iowa Machine Shed. It's not a steakhouse but the food is amazing. A couple years ago I took my mom there for prime rib. I had a steak and my daughter and a friend of hers also had steaks. We had potatoes and some kind of salad and sodas or milk. The total bill with tip was around $80. And mom got a free baked apple for her birthday.
@@lorisanford8515 it's in Davenport iowa.and it's called the Iowa Machine Shed. Its not a Steakhouse it's a down home country restaurant. It looks like a big barn and if I'm not mistaken the staff wear big overalls. It's the place where you are comfortable in church clothes or coming in out of the field for Sunday breakfast. It's been a few years since I've been there but I love the place.
Right! What I get is medium well. It has a little pink through the middle right!? Bone marrow flan.. oops...so I would try it I feel that it may work because of the oddity ❤️☮️😎
Im going to guess you forgot about us here in Minnesota! If you ever do come here, Murray's Steakhouse, home of the award-winning Butterknife Steak in minneapolis is a treat! You can get their 6oz luncheon sirloin steak for around $20/entree, which is much cheaper than splitting a $100. Dinner entree but equally as good, to my taste. The outside is unimpressive, looking almost like a diner, but the inside has a surprising sophistication and serene atmosphere. Their garlic bread will have you in tears, its so good and you'll find yourself wanting to stuff some in your purse for later. This is a no-joke fine restaurant with some premium steak on the menu.
Arrowhead grill in Arizona is super high-end and they sell wagyu beef. My wife and I did our 18th wedding anniversary dinner there. I did prime rid and the wife did a ribeye. With two sides a bottle of wine the bill and tip was 580$
I work a block away from Del Frisco’s and have never been there. There’s also Del Frisco’s Grille which is a little less formal but still upscale. Haven’t been there either.
As others have said, look for recommendations from the locals in each area you visit. They will point you to the best combination of great eats at affordable prices. As for me, I do straight up medium, still pink throughout but no longer bleeding. My friend, when I was a teenager, he would get the grill super hot, lay his ribeye down on it, flip it after 5 seconds, then 5 seconds later, put it on his plate. Bit too bloody for my taste.
KEENS Steakhouse best in NYC ! Est. in 1885 its old school. Loved by Babe Ruth, Albert Einstein and Teddy Rosavelt. Not far from the Empire State building . Look it up !!!
Medium rare for me. Anything more than medium is too much for me. I can see that I’m going to need to save up to visit either STK, Sperry’s or Jeff Ruby’s in Nashville. They all look amazing!! 💁🏻♀️
If I'm not mistaken the $400 steak was at Wolfgang Puck's place. I'm sure the name has everything to do with the price. No doubt you can find a good steak dinner in the U.S. for 2 for under $100. Every time you Google something like "best steaks in America" you'll always get different answers. I'd check out some steakhouse websites and read reviews.
My pocketbook can not hang with some of those heavy hitting restaurants on that list. I like the smaller local places you can go to get a real good meal with a appetizer, a entree, a dessert and even the drink for around $60. Not mad at anybody who can pay the higher prices, but I've found tender great tasting steak for well under the price the people with the Diamond budget can pay... lol! 🥩😊
Jocko's in Nipomo, California... Shaw's in Santa Maria, California... Far Western Tavern in Orcutt, California... Swiss Chalet in Santa Maria, California...Hitching Post in Casmalia, California... Mc Clintocks in Pismo Beach, California... All these places are steak houses that traditionally cook there steaks on Red Coastal Oak Coals in the Santa Maria Style way... Santa Maria, the true Beef Capital of the World!
You should try one night when you first get into town…..any town…..one of the “chain steak houses” just so you have a comparison to start with…..Texas Longhorn, Outback…etc.
Like you, my steak (on the rare occasions that I eat one) has to be medium. I don't know how anyone can eat a steak that's still bleeding. If I cut into a steak, and it says, "Moo" at me, it's not cooked enough.
I think if you look back at that, it was an entire rack of tomahawk steaks - meant to be shared. Still a chunk of change but a bit less extreme. I'm a medium rare steak lover. I can cook a good steak. I've eaten in plenty of good restaurants over the course of my life, but no one has ever made a piece of grass fed beef taste better than my mama could, with beef my dad and uncle raised together. Even up until right before she died - she was very ill for 2 years before that - she could still make a steak better than any other. I miss my mama. (For more than just her steak, but after just looking at all of that gorgeous meat, right now, I wish she were here to cook me a medium rare piece of beef!) You really ought to try to introduce your palette to a medium rare steak - so much more flavor in a med. rare steak!
Yeah, with apps, mains, dessert, and a nice/normal bottle of wine, most REALLY nice steak places will run you about $200-300, depending on where you are. Midwest, where I am, I'd say about $200-250. On the coasts or big/touristy cities, it will likely be $250-300. Don't let them pressure you into buying a too expensive bottle of wine. There's a HUGE markup at restaurants (which I'm sure you have in London as well). Just go for a lower/mid priced California Cabernet Sauvignon or a bold Italian red like Nebbiolo or Nero D'Avola if you're having steak and you'll be just fine. Any more than about $50-70 at a steakhouse for a bottle of wine is going to be teetering on too much (keep in mind, this is all relative, as I would never spend more than $20/bottle in normal life at a grocery or liquor store). And this is WITH 20% tip.
Stumbled into "Ron's Place" while downtown in Chicago. Starts like a cafeteria, but they really know how to do their steaks! Not horrid prices, but around $50-60, and you WILL NOT FINISH you meal. Just too much food, as portions are huge!
You should check out the video of the 75 ounce steak challenge if you want to see a massive chunk of meat. You can only get it cooked one of two ways, rare or medium rare. It's about 3 or 4 inches thick. Great reaction, as always
If you like your steak cooked medium, it's best to order a fatty cut, like ribeye. Leaner cuts are better cooked rare to medium rare. It's not a steakhouse, but if you ever come to San Francisco you should go to House of Prime Rib. It's a beef-lover's delight. The menu is really simple: prime rib or fish as the main course, with salad, potato (either baked or mashed), Yorkshire pudding, and creamed spinach.
You are planning to go to Texas as part as your U.S. vacation. I recommend you go to Texas during the time of the Texas State Fair, that's a food lovers heaven. Check out a few videos, one of the best is The Top 50 Fair Foods. It showcases the Minnesota and Texas State Fairs.
Okay I was blown away at how simple the Cattleman's club is. The photos so just how I like my food. I have not seen Iceberg lettuce on a plate at a restaurant in 30 years. They just stop putting it on your burgers an other stuff. I don't like any other lettuce just iceberg. $$$400.00? yeh Right. that rack looked like something Fred Flenstone would have ordered. 👍
That $425 price tag is for a monstrous Tomahawk of True Wagyu. Watch that section again, and look at the size of the Tomahawks the guy is cutting 6:13 .
I am totally a medium rare girl! When me and my hubby got married, he would never touch a steak if it were NOT well done. Over the past decade I have turned him around to the beauty of a medium rare steak!
When I was in Houston Texas I ordered a medium rare steak at this steak house I can't remember the name of it...but they came out with a stake that to me was rare !!! I could never eat a steak rare 😨 it had a little tiny bit of cooked steak on the outside of it and on the inside it was rare... Is that what a medium rare is supposed to be like?
@@purpleskiesforever yeah that's what I had to do but it seems like in Texas their medium rare is rare it's crazy I mean I've gone to other restaurants and other states that the same thing happened but not as much as in Texas 😊
$450 steak is in Beverly Hills. Of course it costs a fortune! The South Dakota place reminds of some fabulous places in Montana. You have to ask the locals where to go.
I lived in Nashville for nearly 15 years. Sperry is incredible. Now we live in Dallas. Knife is the real deal. Absolutely killer. And dude, a $425 steak? They sell $500 burgers in restaurants in NYC.
Most in the US will not have gone to these, Kabir. I would guess for the first one with dessert about $200-$250 but I could easily be wrong. Maybe 50% lower or 20% higher. 5:05 Medium rare for me. 8:12 That is upscale in NYC. Hell no I wouldn't pay that! Google whatever steak place you are thinking of for the prices. Unless it is ultra exclusive, you will find the prices somewhere.
That $425 steak was found in Beverly Hills, where most everything is pretentious, so not surprising. And the larger the city, the more expensive it’s finer restaurants. It’s probably the same way in the UK.
You can literally buy 4 lbs of A5 Wagyu for $400, but I have a Wagyu guy and we can buy it at the Supermarket in Texas - which is part of the reason I don’t really do steakhouses much anymore. The other reason is that I like Wagyu to be blue rare which restaurants won’t do… Wagyu should be fresher and if you overheat it, the fat is going to fully melt and that is the entire point of Wagyu. Other than that, I generally do NY strip medium rare when I’m out. Del Frisco’s is my favorite in Texas, so I’n sure the one in NY is great.
Tomahawks are "shareable" so it's more like $425 for 2. But these are definitely $$$-$$$$$ restaurants. There are so many delicious steakhouses where you can EASILY get 20 oz steaks for a whole lot less $$-$$$ and is still heavenly (Texas). Just ask around, best ask a country boy where the best steak is as city boys can sometimes be a bit dazzled by the "restaurant experience" instead of the taste.
I've lived about 1000yards from a Jeff Ruby steakhouse for over 10 years and I've never eaten there lol...it's crazy expensive, I think the cheapest steak is around 80$....it does smell nice outside in the evening 😳, but I usually grill my own steaks
I always ask for mine medium or even just a tad medium rare. I'd rather it be slightly undercooked than overcooked. If it's too medium rare I'll politely ask for it to get another minute or two of heat on each side. I've only ever done that two or three times in my entire life. The best steak I've ever had was a dry aged something-something sirloin (I can never remember the name of the cut!) from a nearby farm, cooked to perfection by my friend Stacie. I doubt I'll ever eat another steak as exquisite.
Onion, Bacon Jam is the Bomb! You have to try it sometime. I like my beef rare...just cooked enough so a good vet can't revive the cow. I like a high heat sear for a crispy exterior and a very rare center. Cooking it any more than that really reduces the flavor of the meat. With that said, the beef has to be well (dry) aged or it also lacks flavor in my opinion. Kobe is my favorite beef, of course but that is only for very special occasions and I will buy it and cook it myself as a rule. It is at least double the price in a restaurant. Baked potato and a fresh crispy salad on the side and I am a very happy girl. And YES, if it was a special occasion, I would definitely spend the $425 for the steak because you can bet that it will be perfect. No chef wants to have to have a do-over on a meal of that cost.
You think that for a steak. Lol when I use to deliver win in Connecticut. I would go to Greenwich (fancy people) like houses costing Millions. I had to go to one place I had a pallet of wine for one place. It was about 30 cases. It was $75000. That’s just cost not sale price. I had to Cary paperwork with me for the 6 bottle I had to have up front with me. I literally had them buckled in with the seatbelt and had two moving straps around the case and the seat. Those six bottle were worth close to 6 grand a bottle. I was so nervous driving 2 hrs with all that lol. But hey they actually gave me a nice take home meal for free.
personally me I kind of like a cross between medium and medium rare not to like red on the inside not to peek on the inside either not too cold not too hot I have it a certain way that I like it
Are they crazy $425 you could darn near buy the cow for that price 🙃🤣😂! Kabir I like my steaks 🥩 well done, no pink or blood for me! Kabir, you can get a good steak with ordinary locals at most steakhouse restaurants without using your mortgage payment to pay the bill 😂! I can get a good steak at TexasRoadhouse restaurant for $18 to $25 dollars and it’s seasoned well! Watching from Maryland 🇺🇸!
Medium rare These places aren't where you go to eat steak. They are where you go for a steak experience. $20 at a hole-in-the-wall in any Midwest town or village will get you a damn fine steak (usually). Look for the clean but worn buildings with a packed parking lot. Can't go wrong.
I prefer Peter Luger to Del Frisco’s. Smith & Wollensky is also good. But there used to be this place called Ben Benson’s that was my favorite. They closed several years ago and I miss their lobster cakes.
Idk about Tony's, but at any Jeff Ruby restaurant, two basic, let's say strip steaks with two sides, for two people is going to run about $200. Remember, this is a BASIC meal. Higher cuts of steak (same two side dishes) you"re hitting $300+. Throw in that seafood tower and you're going to hit $500-$600... for one visit. HOWEVER, there are fatcats that fly into Cincinnati from LA, Chicago, New York, Miami, Dallas, etc to go to his steakhouses. His servers ALWAYS start off as "server assistants" (i.e. busboys). Exceptions being high end servers from a comparable high-end restaurant AND they can pass the extensive written tests concerning wine pairings, meat cuts, meal prep, food sourcing, etc, etc. It generally takes around 3 years for a server assistant to pick up enough of this knowledge. Depending on patron tips, servers make around $1700-$2000/night (they then tip out their assistants).
I can't believe they don't have St. Elmos in Indianapolis IN They have been open for over 115 years and have been considered one of the best steak house in the US Definitely favorite of football players and racing fans
Typically we dry age for 28-45 days….240 days of dry aging is probably overwhelmingly intense in bleu cheese / nutty flavor. Too much for my personal preference.
Seems like more of a flex than anything. Also, you can basically charge whatever hell you want at that point because that is the only place you can get it.
I'd pay for that much to try some good steak. I like trying everything at any price range. Sometimes cheap steaks are hella good, sometimes they're trash. Same can be said for expensive cuts...
I really loved this video Kabir. I'm from California and I have never been to any of those high end steak houses. However, there are an enormous amount of medium level steakhouses all over the place and the food there is probably just as good. I don't eat that much meat anymore but when I did I loved a good medium prepared porterhouse or ribeye. Every big city in the US probably has some noteworthy steak houses. Raising cattle and providing great quality beef has been a part of this country since the beginning. There are some great steakhouses in Denver and Chicago that didn't even make the list. Wealthy people would think nothing of spending $425 or even $1000 for a meal. Our concept of what's expensive is nothing like theirs. I took a flight from LA to Manila, Philippines and paid $1200 for an economy class seat. A first class seat cost on that flight cost over $4000. (And every seat was occupied.) What makes a flight worth the difference in price?? The leg room, service, food??? I believe that even if I were a multi-millionaire, I wouldn't spend money on needlessly expensive things. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Remember I got you covered on a steak or bbq dinner ($100 patreon donation) when you come to America.
California native, myself, and we have a bunch of incredible "old-school" steakhouses here. I haven't explored too many outside my bubble, but around here, SF has House of Prime Rib , 5A5, Harris, and Osso, and SJ has The Grill on Alley and Rok. When I visit my grandparents outside Sacramento, we try to stop at Echo & Rig. The US truly is a steak treasure trove. :D
@@mikelafaille I couldn't agree more. Just moments I ago I arrived back from a night out to a new Sushi restaurant here in the Seattle area. I hate the feeling of being stuffed after a meal and Sushi hits me just right. I did have a little bit of steak tho. The Japanese also know how to do steak. 🍴

Totally. The best steaks to be had in Houston are in locally-owned and operated.
Agreed. Locals will ALWAYS have the best advice for food and LOVE to show off/recommend any type of food, no matter where you are in the States.

💯 Texas Road House has never let me down Their filet is excellent and so affordable. Highly recommended.
@@Ira88881 There are no laws in the US regarding Wagyu or Kobe naming. They can call anything Wagyu.
@@misterkite I thought it’s an issue because of the name, that only Japanese companies hold the copyright to it, and that American beef of this type is all hybrid, not pure wagyu.
@@Ira88881 this part. I notice a lot of ppl don’t realize the importance of what type of cow their steak came from. Angus/Wagyu make great steaks.
You must be in Tampa.. or near it.. Me too!

They're expensive but you totally get your money's worth. So good!
I love how much you upload. I’m sure it’s not easy work. Just wanted to say thanks :)
there is a steak house here where that has a buffet last time i was in there was before the covid jumped in and its $12.00 a person kids and senior citizens get a small discount you can go up to the person grilling stake and the buffet all you want to eat
Buy the steak, not the sizzle.
I recently went to a steak house for my birthday with my girlfriend and parents and between the 4 of us with 2 starters each an entrée 6 total sides 2 deserts and 2 bottles of wine we spent over $700
And this isn't even the most expensive steak house near me
I went to a fundraiser last weekend (it was to support our local veteran society so very low key, outside bbq) and had some of the best steak I've had in years.
You described my perfect steak. Between medium - medium/well ( I like a little pink )
Now that's more like it, Where is that steakhouse and what's the name?😊
No way Smith & wollensky or Peter Lugers.
You should try a Steak at Risky's at Fort Worth's Stockade area (Texas)
Not mad at anybody who can pay the higher prices, but I've found tender great tasting steak for well under the price the people with the Diamond budget can pay... lol! 🥩😊
I think better ambience too!
I google map these locations. As you scroll you caan get gheir menu. The first one filet mignon $76. 200-300 for two
Hungry? 😂 Yeah, me too. Great reaction. 👍🏼
Flemings Steakhouse and Rays in Atlanta and Alpharetta GA
You can get a top notch steak dinner for 2 (minus alcohol) for $120 ➕ ➖ a bit.
Medium-rare. Just a little closer to medium. Bearnaise Sauce. And with thick pub style chips.
With a good/great beer. Not wine.
If you go to NYC try Palm 2, you won't be disappointed. It's at the upper end of expensive. For 3 of us or was over $500
You are planning to go to Texas as part as your U.S. vacation. I recommend you go to Texas during the time of the Texas State Fair, that's a food lovers heaven. Check out a few videos, one of the best is The Top 50 Fair Foods. It showcases the Minnesota and Texas State Fairs.
Medium rare. I’m from Pierre, SD that place is amazing along with Bobs steakhouse.
Part of that $400 price tag is because it’s in Beverly Hills and has the Wolfgang Puck name on the restaurant.
I think they said it was 50 ounces of Tomahawk.
Peter lagers in Brooklyn NY also been there for years since 1887
Bern's is worth the expense. I've dined there numerous times and they have ALWAYS exceeded my expectations.
I could never eat a steak rare 😨
it had a little tiny bit of cooked steak on the outside of it and on the inside it was rare... Is that what a medium rare is supposed to be like?
@@lorisanford8515 you can always ask the server to have it cooked a little longer. I had to do that once and they were happy to do it.

I'm taking notes about the steakhouses in Kentucky. I've heard there's a great one in Bardstown though.
Definitely a medium to medium-well person too
Just under medium rare unless it's prime rib which I want rare. I like my food cooked properly and still mooing is proper.
Jeff ruby 6-8 oz kobe beef ranges from $155-$165
You can literally buy 4 lbs of A5 Wagyu for $400, but I have a Wagyu guy and we can buy it at the Supermarket in Texas - which is part of the reason I don’t really do steakhouses much anymore.
I work in a bar b q restaurant

You cant go wrong with an end piece of PRIME RIB.
Medium rare
These places aren't where you go to eat steak.
Elmos in Indianapolis IN They have been open for over 115 years and have been considered one of the best steak house in the US
Definitely favorite of football players and racing fans
Typically we dry age for 28-45 days….240 days of dry aging is probably overwhelmingly intense in bleu cheese / nutty flavor. Too much for my personal preference.
Seems like more of a flex than anything. Also, you can basically charge whatever hell you want at that point because that is the only place you can get it.
Medium rare - rare. I’d never utter the words “well done”. 😝
If it doesn't moo, it's overcooked.
I always ask for medium rare. That way if it’s a bit overcooked a medium steak is almost as good for me
I'd pay for that much to try some good steak. I like trying everything at any price range. Sometimes cheap steaks are hella good, sometimes they're trash. Same can be said for expensive cuts...
Live & was born in Tampa, Florida. Can't afford Burn's Steak House either! LOL
If ever in Minneapolis you can't go wrong with the iconic Manny's.
