Same I woke up this morning and thought "Nah can't be real just another Mrbossftw type thing" but then I watched a couple clips and Now I Think it is real

They got this through a Slack Account and the devs were just none the wiser. This was a hack, it's not like they accidentally posted something and the perpetrator happened to find it.

I'd honestly be sympathetic towards Rockstar if they were the passion driven game company they were years ago. Considering they cut support for Red Dead Online, sued highly passionate modders instead of offering them jobs instead, while refusing to fix things like the security of GTA players' IPs, they gotten what's coming for them with these leaks. There's many many other issues with both T2 and Rockstar, but I'm sure Pro will cover them in his future video.

yeah i feel bad for them because getting your game leaked sucks but at the same time they are a shitty, scummy, money hungry, disgusting, soulless company so I don't really care for them
From a business standpoint this could be even worse for Rockstar as having information leaked, possibly having to delay a heavily anticipated product and possibly having to reform the company at worst and all. This could affect their stockprice heavily and no company wants that.

Sure it’s bad for rockstar and take two but maybe this will be a wake up call for them to get there shit together and finally do something instead of cutting RDO an giving us GTA+.

I have mixed feelings. One hand, it sucks for Rockstar that this happened, especially since it shows how far along they’ve been going into the game as it looks pretty good for the most part. On the other hand, the way they just care about GTA Online only and not any other games that they’ve got out or anything of the sort kinda has me not feel as bad due to how they only want GTA Online money and really nothing more at this point it seems.

This is truly one of the biggest leaks in gaming history. I do feel bad for the Rockstar devs and the people who have worked hard on this game but in my opinion I think the Rockstar corporation deserved this. Constantly screwing the fans over, treating them like shit. Well deserved in my eyes. I am sad for the delays though also.
In any case, people are absolutely liking the leaks. This is nothing but good publicity for all involved.

For this little selfish enjoyment of yours that " oh I like the leak" yeah will you also like a 5 year delay to GTA 6 because of source code leaks? this guy will probably hold it ransom for like 5 mil or some shit, these ppl are scum. He is also the confirmed hacker of Uber, I hope he gets caught and brought to justice. Rockstar is a saint compared to other corporations, barely treated their fans like trash, you were not obligated to buy Gta Online Shark cards or the Definitive Edition.
I feel awful for the Rockstar developers, I can't imagine how bad they must be feeling right now. I'm seeing a lot of developers from other studios commenting on this. If the source code is out there then the project might even get rebooted completely which means another 6 years minimum of work. This will go down in video game history forever. Nobody wins from this.

Hard to feel bad for the company that treats it's customers terrible, haven't touched GTA V in years. GTA 6 is just gonna be just like V where they abandon single player after a year or two for just online
I'm willing to bet the story will be so bare bones and small and all focus and steam ahead for the online to be ready at launch. They made WAYYY too much money over the years from gta online alone to not go after that again. Plus we all know how Rockstar loves to asset flip stuff that's already in the game for online and call it " new" instead of story dlc. But the story characters look boring as hell.

Single player is the last thing i’d be worried about.

With all the negligence on RS and T2's part with the community (ignoring the RDO Community, striking channels down, E&E, The Definitive Edition, GTA+, BAD Online Security, Bad customer support, suing modders, sending authorities to people's home...)- it's well-deserved karma.

Whys E&E in there lol. I blame t2 for 90% of this tbh the only thing I consider R*s fault is the definitive edition. Take 2 interactive have been pulling R*s strings for the last 12 years. Their greed is uncanny and makes them do absolutely anything that may bring them profit an I know this coz 2K games aren't so different The NBA 2k series has the grindiest character progression of any sports game by a Mile an half. I'm told it takes up to 500 hrs to max out your character an why do you think that is? Coz t2 need people to buy VC to boost it. If you want clarification take a look at the older nba games from before T2 their character progression isnt a 5th as grindy. Before T2 R* released games almost on the yearly and focused on multiple franchises. This past 9 years they've released 1 game. You know why? T2 needed them to milk gta online. Want clarification on this? Rdr 1 and gta 4 both had an online and neither one of em got milked to this level. They were just as popular on release as gta 5 so why not? Coz there was no take 2 that's why
To everyone who are critical of all of these clips and screenshots need to understand this is a build in debug mode.
I'm just happy to see something, I'm willing to be patient. The curiosity has just been festering for so long. In Rockstar's defense, this Hacker should had never threatened to steal their source code for ransom.
Even then just seeing the engine and the movement and polishness I think not looks good so far

I really hope the hacker was smart enough to hide his tracks. After what these scumbags did with going after the modding community, they definitely should've known they would be hunted. They milked GTAO, while abandoning V Story for 10 freaking years. They abandoned RDR2 story, to milk more shark cards out of GTAO. They abandoned RDO to milk GTAO. I don't care if it doesn't come out for 10 more years. This was well deserved.

I've quit gaming a year ago. I don't really care anymore.
All of the low effort, microtransactions, always online, political correctness, day one patches, glitches, open world rpg style, terrible stories and single player content are way too much for me to keep up with.
they're gunna spend millions on lawyers and private investigators but fails to keep even themselves safe from hackers.

R* had a GODDAMN PLAN
A leak like this doesnt lead to reboots at all, just to inform the ultra casuals unaware of how companies usualy conduct business from a situation like this, it does delay the development because a full investigation must be conducted on hardware from all staff members to find the source of the leak which takes MONTHS to happen, the biggest issue from a source code leak is primarily related to cheats, with source code in hands cheat makers are capable of masking almost completely their work from most anti cheat software camouflaging it as in game data.
In short: Expect a huge delay for the game launch, a possible delay for its official presentation and absolutely expect plenty of day one cheats to be available at launch.
PS: I should mention the possibility that any data downloaded from non official sources (Steam or Rockstar Launcher) would be subject to tampering with your computer, again masked as in game data due to the source code leaks, so do exercise caution when downloading mods for the game...

I thought everything we saw in those leaks looked really promising, the sky and lighting so far looked pretty stunning and this could’ve been a build that’s a couple years old. The people saying it looks trash are so dumb, like seriously they’re acting like it’s a trailer for the game they have no idea what an early build looks like

Rockstar deserves this. They got rid of a bunch of employees and now a game which should have been released five years ago is still at least two years away from release. They have also consistently ignored the fans when we ask for updates on the game. The whole gaming industry has been money-grabbing and treating gamers like crap, so I've got no sympathy for them.
Yeah I'm sorry but I don't feel bad for Rockstar what so ever. They treat their customers and life long fans like garbage, they choose profit over ethics, they do next to nothing to combat cheaters and actually promote and encourage trolls in lobbies. Our reports do absolutely nothing to punish anybody except us.

This isn’t a vendetta at all. I’m a consumer. I’ve purchased and played every R* game made and touted them as The Best. As their success has grown, they’ve cared less about the consumer. You know, the people who helped grow their wealth and was loyal to their products?

Gameplay photos and videos are one thing, but the sourcecode never should've been touched. That's going way too far, especially in blackmailing the company and threatening to sell it. I feel for the developers who are disappointed that this is the first glimpse we've gotten at their work. Personally, I think the leaks looked good considering it's from very early development, and it is a little exciting getting to see behind the Rockstar curtain of silence.
Im just happy to finally know that they were smart & chose vice city. I hate the idiots who are judging graphics & crap of a early preaplha build. From what I saw im happy with it so far & that el camino looks badass. They gonna delay this until 2026+ at this point definitely 🤦🏽♂️

The Bonnie and Clyde inspiration leak thing's been around for a long time and Jason Schreier said it would be so too. I'm convinced this debug footage only reinforces what was already said. Latina female and White male just like it was told. The ONLY thing really up in the air is ofc their relationship as you have said which is a really good point.
And this makes me excited if this inspiration is 100% legit since the irl story is super interesting. They were also known to hit smaller stores in the spree alongside the banks which the debug seemed to show as it looked like it might've been a mission or an expansion to the store robberies of RDR2.
Also, I don't fully agree it will delay the game. Ik this kind of stuff normally would but in this situation, I don't really think it will. I'd say it's unlikely at best and I won't rule it out, but I doubt it's a guarantee. This isn't a small dev team over a few hundred after all.
In the leaked video there is actually an event called "Bonnie and Clyde Mysteries"

Judging from the leaks that were shown by the hacker, we'll have Vice City and surrounding towns, one believed to be by some to be a town based on Orlando, some seem to show towns like based on Fort Myers maybe and so on, with a northern country side in the middle of all these towns and the main city. The map is absolutely enormous too, much bigger than GTA V's.
But this is all pre-pre-alpha so a lot could've changed by now. But I'll bet the whole map design similar to GTA V with a main city and a major country side with small towns will still be there.
I'm super glad to be stupid then. We've all been throwing shame at Rockstar for the way they behaved since 2015 with all their greedy tactics to patch ASAP money glitches but they let slide bugs in GTA online since it's launch.
The way they killed RDR2 online, the way they never communicate with their community.
But all of a sudden, a massive leak appears and we're all suppose to feel bad for them? Nah, f&$k Trashstar Garbages. They finaly have to talk to us for once... hell... They're FORCED to talk to us now.
Oh and btw, I repeat myself but I don't feel bad, just watch how awfuly more grindy GTA 6 online will be just to make sure shark card sales are boosted to their max. Also, after GTA6's launch, enjoy another 10 to 15 years of radio silence and no new games lol

The only clue to them being together is Jason calling Lucia “babe” and “baby” during the diner robbery. It also seems like they share a safehouse that looked to be a motel room with one bed.

I was so mad when they said they were done with RDO. Seeing this footage gives me hope. I did watch the footage, and felt bad at times for watching it, but also not feeling bad because of how badly they treated us RDO players!

Valve had simular leak back in 2003. Whole Half-Life 2 was leaked, but this didn't cause huge delay thought. Let's hope that Rockstar will manage this blow too

We have to pay for story mode on the ps5 aswell as make a new character which induces the sale of more shark cards

I don't feel bad for rockstar in the slightest, with the way they have been treating the fandom, they deserve it. We've been waiting for gta 6 for years but rockstar just keeps ignoring their fans and keep milking gta 5, never mind completely neglect the red dead community. Biggest leak in gaming history. But it's not good news. The hacker posted part of the source code and is threatening to release more including the test build. This is a major setback of GTA 6 development. The game will need to be recoded to avoid Piracy and exploits. The game developers will need to redo most if not all their work. And the worst part I believe is T2/R* bosses will not care as they will double down on milking that poor dry gtao cash cow. T2 and R* will be even less motivated in releasing a new quality game. I hope they learn their lesson and take cyber security serious in future games but I doubt it.

The list goes on and the Rockstar never took any necessary security steps on their games. Today they breached and took away the source code. I think it's harsh but it's a learning for a billion dollar company to atleast re-invest on making security features better for their games. I hope they have learnt what hackers have done to their old games and what they can & will do in the future. In one sentence as a PC GTA5O player I would say, it's a perfect example of Karma and improve your security features✌️

i think rockstar have made mistake when they said gta 6 is well underway. Before rockstar confirming that gta 6 is in development everyone thought that gta 6 will never come out, so it would be much bigger hype when they just one day release trailer. I think fans just could not take waiting any longer. I'm not saying thats complete rockstars fault, but they are guilty at least for 50% of it.

I'm still going to play and enjoy it again it's going to be phenomenal, but they definitely deserve a reality check all they do is screw over players, they definitely have contingency plans for this they're not going to sit on what's potentially billions of dollars and not have a backup plan for a Defcon Red Alert.
It's also possible that whatever the hacker took was just the scraps folder or early builds that are abandoned by Rockstar, they may just be taking down content related to it to cover their tracks.

I think you would get a lot of trash 5 minute projects from it but you would also get that one which is so crazy and detailed that you would think it was rockstar who made it. If you want an example look up the multiple Skyrim mods that make it a whole other game, or GTA Underground (which Take Two being the stingy pieces of shit that they are had it taken down). Dont underestimate the resilience of the internet because it will surprise you for better or worse

They canceled gta 5 story dlc's, they stopped carrying for red dead online cause it didnt made as much money as gta online, they made lawsuits against modders just so they can release their own shitty "remastered" version of the trilogy. Feel bad for the devs but it stops there. R* has been screwing their community over for years now. I’m not an eye for an eye type. But if you do bad shit to people then something bad happens to you, I won’t lose sleep.
I feel sorry for the developers, but not for Rockstar as a whole. This is what happens when you milk a game for 9 years, continue to take peoples money and expect people to just go with it. A big leak like this was always bound to happen the longer they took with it.
They let this happen for two reasons:
1. To make it seem like a legit leak and breach to tease the community and get hype / conversations
2. As a way to use this to build excuses for why they will need more time to delay development/release of the final product

In contrary to what the tittle of the video may make you think, the source code is actually not leaked, only a few screenshots of it have been shown.
Also the clips seem to be quite old, most of them where captured in a GTX 1080.
BTW, damage control doesn't work like that, they'll call their private investigators, find the guy, and drown him in sues, I highly doubt the slightest amount of code will be changd from such a weak leak.

The GTA 5 source code has been sold for 100k. That’s Rockstar’s biggest moneymaker. Take Two is definitely going after this person hard and find the person who the hacker sold it to. GTA Online is probably going to be temporarily shut down because of this.

@@MrClonedzero Do you know what the source code does? Do you? Do you know how bad it would be if hackers leaked the source code of a game, especially for a game like GTA Online and GTA 6? Devs are going to be overcrunched because of this, back to the 100 hour weeks that R* praised back in 2018 for RDR2. Employees are going to be not only overwhelmed but shouted at by the higher ups for letting this kind of leak happen even though it wasn’t their fault.
The higher ups don’t get hurt from this at all if that’s who the hacker was trying to target, it’s the employees who worked their ass off to make the game who are affected the worst as they have to change the source code of both GTA 6 and maybe GTA 5 (even though that sell was a scam, hacker still has the source codes. ) so yes. It’s going to affect GTA Online going forward, to protect customers from further mods and cheats in lobbies(and I don’t mean the PC lobbies, I’m talking every lobby regardless of platform). Sure Rockstar can just ban the people using these new exploits from the source code, maybe even go after people who make pirated builds of GTA Online because it’s made on stolen code but that’s basically putting a plaster on a open gaping wound. This is Rockstar’s nightmare scenario. So no I do know what I’m talking about.
Also, i dont even buy that the source code was stolen or sold. The 100k thing is such a fake number its not believable.
1.) The most money the hacker would make is would have been to quietly ransom the source code back to rockstar. Since it'd be cheaper to pay a ransom for it than to fix the issues and add the proper security changes.
2.) Since its in such early development still and the source code being stolen / sold is public knowledge it'll get fixed/changed. Thus rendering whoever paid the 100k sitting there with useless source code in their hands.
3.) Sure, stolen source code could be used to develop a bootleg version of the game, but since its early development it'd be poor quality and you couldnt even make money off it, since Take2/Rockstars legal team would be up their ass in seconds.
So yeah, the source code parto f this leak is clearly a lie to distract and misdirect.
