Great timing on this video! I read your guide again last night in fact. It’s still so tempting for me to spread DP while using ME though! since I can cast more of them and it helps with apparition dmg 😭
I like the longer DP option, sometimes I feel on smaller pulls I struggle with the DP uptime. This allows for a little bit of error in my play. In addition I like spreading it around

I usually spread if I know mobs are dying slow but I always know which is my priority target to finish things off. Or whoever has the most health mid way thru!
w/ set bonus minds eye seems to do more damage ST anyway, due to more procs of the 4 set. I think more procs of this alone end up making minds eye pull ahead. Also keeps you in void form longer.
Yeah especially for Voidform I agree
I find that the priority damage is more valuable even in high keys as most of the time trash dies so fast even in +15s fortified. So minds eye is the way to go for me.
I always wondered though, considering how DP is built is it not viable to take DR and treat it as if it's mind's eye? Would that not yield a lot of ST DPS when in AOE situations you generate a lot of insanity?
In past tiers it has been more viable but with the synergy with Screams of the Void and our tierset with Voidform in particular minds eye is actually more single target.
sometimes I'm able to spread my minds eye, not often, but sometimes it lines up nicely
Hey Publik, Unrelated question. Tried your plater and it's really good. How did you "clump" your nameplates when there is alot of mobs? On my current profile whenever there are tons of mobs the nameplates go to the roof, while yours dont.
In your in-game settings try changing your Nameplate Motion Type and see if you prefer one of those options. I use Stacking Nameplates.

No particular time. If it’s up and ready you can send it after you put MB and VB on CD and DP is active

In smaller target counts I feel like DR having a higher uptime allows me to benefit from the DP buffing my mind blast/void torrent more consistently thus giving me more psychic link damage. If you have DP falling off consistently or have more gaps then is it not less damage? Even ST? Maybe it is a haste thing though and if I had more haste then I wouldn’t have insanity problems as much.
Yeah with good levels of haste and the proper priority you should still have 90%+ uptime on minds eye
Hi publik, can you make a video guide to simming?
Currently playing Madening Touch along with Minds Eye, ScreamsOTV and Mental Decay (swap mental decay to Mental Fort when I need extra protection) over Mind Dev. Is it worth dropping a point in MT or dropping Mental Decay fully to take 1 point in Mind Dev? Is 5% even worth it or better to do 2p in MD for 10% chance & 1p in MT? MDev is nice when it procs but it doesn't proc enough I feel. Although tier set does feel suited to MDev slightly with Shadowy Insight.
I'm still learning how to play spriest but I do really like having Dis Reality keep my DPs up longer, I do feel that you need more MD procs help to make DR work best though. Nice when it goes off but only one free DP every 8 MBs doesn't seem worth it over Minds Eye/Madening Touch sometimes. It's a really hard choice to make cause I think in many situations/against certain mobs MD/DR build will be better.
Also is Mental Decay, Madening Touch and SOTV a good combo of talents?? Feel like they should compliment each other when you're using Mind flays but not 100% sure.
Mind Devourer is a better point than Maddening Touch in my opinion. Even though it doesnt feel like it procs a ton each proc is worth 45 Insanity + all the value you get from another devouring plague.
Those are a decent combo, it just depends on what youre looking for. Maddening Touch itself is the mass aoe talent (roughly 1% better at 10+ targets) but otherwise Mind Devourer is the better overall pick, especially in lower target counts where its upwards of 4% better.

@@Publikwow Thanks for the reply, checked out that video and it was helpful. I had been playing 2pts in Mind Dev and 1pt in MT (then everything else the same as what you have in the vid you linked - minus Mental Fort) and that did feel good but I noticed a lot of shadow priests taking MT over MD so assumed that was the build to play. I'm gonna go back to my original build with MD and play around with Minds Eye and Dis Reality.
Two dumb questions here but does 4 set give you both the 2/4 set bonus or just the 4? Got my 4 set this week but wasnt sure, even though it looks like you get both, that I get both lol.
And is Mental Fortitude worth taking or necessary to take when you can spend that point on the damage talent?? I'm doing +6 without it so maybe it's more needed in higher keys
@@Publikwow Sorry one other question. Does MD increase the damage of DPs initial hit, just the dot side of DP or both? Also is Dis Reality increase to DP damage just based on the extended time its up for or does it do 20% more damage and stay up longer? Neither is super clear. With all these increases in damage of DP if you have MD, DR, Voidtouched and 4-set your DPs should do like 58-64% more damage but again, is that just to the initial damage or all damage done?
How can you play with these animated portraits? They're just an additional nothing-too-brief distraction in an already animation-laden class.
Should DP be my most damage on overall above Apparitions and Psychic Link? On most keys on this tyra week DP is first. I play Mind Devourer talent. Could that be it ?
I also play mind devourer and still see SA and PL as 1&2. Could be that you are just having really long boss fights but that sounds abnormal
@@Publikwow I dont really know what's going on. Someone told me that probably I should stay close to melee range like 99% of the time so SA can reach targets faster especially on lower keys. I usually go melee when fear is up for CC. I have to look into it
Anyone else having a bug where the 2 blue silken's arent stacking on buff bar? seems to only show 1 buff 1042 mast
Drop below 90% and go back up, should fix itself.

bit unrelated to the video, but i have a quesiton concerning seal of diurna's chosen.
i have vakash and the helmet enchant and my ring deals close to 0 dmg like 0.2% dps amounts of damage, considering the stats on it are shit - is it just bad or bugged or whats goin on? thanks in advance
Not bugged thats just how it is with just those two things, even with the stats being what they are the ring can beat out other rings, especially towards end game gear. You can also add a fire damage trinket like vessel to make it closer to 1-2%
I agree, I think this ring is BS and I feel like I wasted bullion on it, but every number cruncher out there says that 0.2-0.4% of total dps is better than different secondaries.
Just advice for new spriests it's way better to play without distorted reality in practice.
Is there a build that favors lower keys with less time to ramp?
The dark ascension build with Nzoth cthun is a good one to try. Full build is on the mythic+ page in icy veins

Seal of Diurna's Chosen you mean? Yeah if you only have Vakash + Helm enchant its gonna be small. If you add Vessel it can do upwards of 2%

That's a good TLDR :) Keep in mind DR can help push as well if there are multiple high-prio targets but those are more niche cases.

How many target shadow crash hit ?
Hits all but only dots 8, prioritizes mobs who do not have dots on them

@@Mr75Axl yeah! That's exactly how you should play, just keep aggro in mind, good idea to press fade while dotting when tank is gathering.

I’m always funneling it one target since most classes burst the lower health mobs
Since devouring plague adds the damage of the previous dot to the new one you really aren’t gaining much PL damage by spreading
@@Publikwow That's true, but how much is added on? I remember them basically clubbing Spriest DP stacking in BFA due to it doing too much dmg.

Either is a fine choice, but at least Halo can be pressed for damage unlike Divine Star which is just there for pre-pull Insanity.
