I found out about the SSPX only last year, travelled 30 minutes to attend a Latin mass and it was like something awakened in my soul. Such a shame many people are missing out on this divine level of reverence.

80 years old and a Catholic born and bred, I am actually weeping while I watch such beauty and all that I have lost. All that has been taken from us, the simplicity and absolute glory to God. I know every word and understand every word of the beautiful Latin. May our Lord, Father, Son and Holy Ghost be honoured and glorified. Amen.

This Mass is so Holy that I believe that God is so close to me. How I wish that this Mass could be in our Church.
I wish you had a FSSP LATIN PARISH in your area. There might be one that is maybe an hour or so drive. It is worth the drive and your time.
This brings back so many wonderful memories. How I wish I could attend the Massses of my youth. Masses then were so beautiful. Not now. Even though I attend daily Mass it just isn't the same. Please bring back the TLM holy father.
As an Altar Boy in the 1950's I recall the Latin prayers and the full Roman Vestments including the Maniple & Amice! Thanks.
Please let the original Tradition of Our Catholic Church return!! No more doing Mass facing the people, no more receiving Holy Communion in the hands, no more receiving Christ while standing, no more receiving final blessings while standing, please!!!😭😭😭

I am from Brazil. A traditional catholic who dont speak french, and even I don't know i understand everithing. The Latin Mass is the same wherever you go. God Bless the Brazil.

wow! my first time to watch a traditional catholic mass. so much respect and reverence to our God. i cant see such respect in nowadays modern mass. i pray that the spirit of God will appoint a traditional pope and bring back the traditions.

as opposed to mass vatican2 style where "competent" priests can rush through the rite of mass in as little as 20 minutes this is the true dignifed Rite. Not forced, not rushed and less noise.

I am an atheist and still I enjoy attending the Latin Mass simply for its beauty, silence and tradition. Modern Catholicism is aesthetically bankrupt and, quite rightly, on the decline.

My late mother (1909 - 2003) said to me when we had returned to the car park after attending a rare Tridentine Latin Mass in Cardiff: "Wasn't it wonderful to see the priest looking at Our Lord during the Mass instead of looking at me - like in Ballinagree long ago."
She had left school at the age of 12 and had no understanding of Latin but, unlike so many Catholics today, she knew what was going on...
While very French sounding, the accent heard here is better than those heard from many native English speakers in Latin.

Sure, better the French accent in Latin than the English one. When I listen to Opera in Latin and the soprano had an English accent it was horrible and I can't bear it

The musical property of the Latin Mass fills the soul with awe and peace. Even young children are attracted by the fact they can sense that something very sacred and important is taking place. They are fascinated by the impact the Mass has on those around them that arouses their curiosity and keeps them attentive .Adults find space in which to meditate even if they are not fluent in Latin. Today it is an unfortunate fact that few schools teach Latin with its use of international importance for concord in communication, especially in medicine .Few Mass books can be found with the Latin translation.

Now that is what I call a Service and Latin always seems to be special and Sacred unlike the modern boring masses we are now suffering .The more Happy Clappy and right on the less they work and its like a disease the more outlandish the better,modern catholic priests seem to be trying to copy their fellow Protestants.Has no one told them that their churches are empty and closing while the older Catholic churches which are left are booming time for a rethink.DEO GRATIA!!!

I go to the Latin mass once or twice a year--I'm fortunate to be in Buffalo, NY where we have access to "the old Mass" at a couple RC parishes. This video, is as good as it gets in this genre--so to speak. Excellent video.

The Tredentine Latin mass is the right liturgical mass today.
For two reasons:
It is traditional.
Tradition is part of the life of the Church; it is meant for all time.
There is no risk it is a mass offered by a homosexual
priest whose priesthood was banned by former popes, it's said.
The Catholic church
is Roman, traditional, Latin.

granted I will go to Novus Ordo fill my daily obligation if I can't get to Traditional Latin Mass.
But there is difference between night and day with the two Mass. One is Centered on God they other facing the people.

Let me get this correct - in the Tridentine Mass the congregation are not obligated to say the responses loud, is that correct? The altar server sort of acts as the congregations voice, to respond to the priest?
Yes. Typically only the server responds in the Low Mass.

Yes, that’s correct. It’s the indication that the space where the priest and altar server are is sacred. The attendees go to pray through the holiest act and receive communion when offered.

The priest at my church is only 27! It's great having a young priest.
You must have reached the age of 25 years by the date of your ordination to become a priest in the Roman Catholic Church. As it takes seven years training and formation, 18 is when some young men start out. However now the Vatican encourages men to get more life experiences, before heading into seminary. So usually the average age of ordination is around 33 depending on country.
Remember too, this was filmed in 2011, so the priest now will be a lot older.
@@johnking5174 people look a lot younger today (as a lot of old bigots inform me of myself). I've even been told I "don't look old enough to drive". The priest looks younger than me, and I'm 28, though allegedly I look anywhere from "19 to 21, max"

Exactly, thank you! For example, "Deo gratias" was translated in Brazilian Portuguese, for the New Mass, with an expression that, in 1968, meant "with the grace of God". Today, however, it means "thank God!" to a modern Brazilian, in the same way that you thank God when you overcome something bad . That's exactly how it sounds when the Mass offered in Portuguese ends and people say "thank God!" before leaving the church.

The Holy Mass is not in the first place instruction or catechesis, but [the] Sacrifice offered to God.
The Holy Mass is about the Sacred ACTION.
The content of an action is understood much more in its outward gestures than by the words used.
May the faithful prepare for the Holy SACRIFICE with their missals, together with the Blessed Virgin Mary at the foot of the Cross during the Sacred ACTION, offer to our Heavenly Father, united with the celebrant, and the Divine Victim, and one with Him.
