Roots on trails, curbs, uneven surfaces have been my biggest challenges to date (about 1.5 years into riding Onewheels). I'm an old guy - I think my brain thought I was doing enough just to stay on, nothing is needed - I'd plow over it. Countless falls later I can attest: doing nothing over bumps, shoulder drops etc usually end in a fall off. So this video is very helpful - thank you: I'll be practicing these techniques. Jake - a focused topic for future video if haven't done already (I'm not seeing one specifically on this): safety gear. 1 broken rib, 1 cracked elbow, 2 sprained wrists & 1 head smack to unconsciousness later I saw you or your partner was wearing the Leatt tops and bottoms. Though I've gotten much better and don't fall as much I gear up every time anymore - has saved me much pain on my old brittle bones - and has made the amazing ride all the more enjoyable. A focused video based on your teams experience on all the great / wise safety gear options with links where to buy would be a good one.
Another great LWL episode. Leary can you do a in-depth video on doing Bonks and when you do the video on jumping off your board, can you also cover skid-stopping? Thanks and keep the videos coming!
Professional and fun videos gents. Just subscribed. Also I have my first one wheel coming to me this week. Pulled the trigger on a used XR. Can’t wait to get out there.
Great video. I wish you could do s video on teaching someone how to go over bumps. I just got mine recently and only rode it 3 times. I'm afraid to go over even an inch lol I'm afraid of the wobble. Plus on my street after the inch there's an incline in driveways so after riding then you gotta go up slightly. I've only been riding on flat surfaces.
Thanks for the tips! I'm still new, and bumps are giving me the hardest time right now. Even if I don't take a dive, my foot positions shift and I have to stop and reposition. I'm assuming it's a matter of bending my knees more, and being flexible. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos, so I can someday ride my onewheel with style. =)
Hey Jake, any chance you could give us a tutorial video for Pint riders (with the more rounded tire) and hitting uneven pavement/driveway ramps at an angle & how to handle it? I always feel the need to hit bumps perfectly perpendicular cuz the board rocking/wobbling freaks me out. Mario Contino said the board kinda...twists? Idk if I’m ready to experience that 😂
@@TheFloatLife You don’t Have Tiffany Blue Color on Bang Bumpers. And the others colors are sold out as you mentioned. Just the normal float plates, What’s the difference from the Bang bumpers to the Regular Float Plate ones you guys have? Please explain
Most fantastic athletic skill. Apply deep breathing with every perception and movement.
This was EXCELLENT!!

Shoot, maybe! We all ride XRs so it's tough to take the Pint out.
Look mom, I'm learning good!
😂🤙⚡️
About to go practice curb climbs with this info locked and loaded.
How did it go?
@@TheFloatLife still need more practice. I considered making a high hat heavy video edit with all my failed attempts I've recorded. lol
so i reckon flight fins help a lot
🍻
Help Leary out and give him a better audio setup! Sound treat the room he's recording in!
Just got the foam up yesterday!
Wish they made BANG Bumpers in Mint Color
Tiffany close enough?
@@TheFloatLife yea do you guys have them? Haven’t picked up a set but I’m going to real soon. My black stock one is getting worn down.
@@samnation9887 We don't right now, but just might really soon!

This tutorial basically leads into how to bonk.
Shhhhh I’m teaching beginner lessons here
@@JakeLeary lol I saw a few bonks as you were showing going over some stuff. You have the best tutorial I've seen on RUclips. Keep them up.
guys I love the content but its 2021... this audio is atrocious.... you can do better. A hollywood film with terrible audio is no longer in Hollywood.
We're always working on getting better! Thanks for the feedback!
