Great instructions. I am a 75 year old woman. Not particularly tech savvy. But was able to follow the very clear instructions. Very pleased with myself. Thankyou.
Thankyou my good man!!!!!! Yes I know this video is almost 7 years old but these wonderful Dell's just keep going. This problem was driving me crazy as I knew to replace the battery. I did and still get this issue. I didn't know to clear the event logs. Now if my Dell needs to restart it can restart without pausing on this error message requiring me to travel to its location to do the menial task of pressing F1. My life is now more complete. Thank you again so much!!!!!!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is still using a computer this old. The only thing this video is missing is a statement about exactly what size that battery is. (CR 2032, in case anyone was wondering.)
You are a computer genius. I have been trying for literally 15 hrs to fix it. Almost just spent £300 on a new secondhand pc. ! Following your instructions totally recovered and functioning pc.
Thanks a million for sharing this. Instructions are clearly detailed. My battery was not under the hard drive, it was easy to see. And, I did not get any error message after replacing the battery and so did not have to press the F2 key and go through those steps.
Thank you so much, I just learned a lot in a matter of a few minutes. I didn't know what I was going to do and was basically about to find out how I can purchase a new computer and I can't even afford one right now, lol. Thanks again and thank you for sharing, God bless.
This video is totally awesome, you are a great teacher, very clear instruction and beautiful timing allowing us to see exactly what you are doing. So from me a great big thank you. Have subscribed and hope to see more....cheers...
After following this procedure, I was getting " Inaccessible Boot Device" errors, probably due to the "restore defaults" step. It was looking for a floppy drive. I used the F2 setup to turn that off. The error continued. It looks like using the F2 setup to put the SATA drive in "Legacy Mode" then fixed it.
honestly it took more time to get the battery out of the tightly vacuum packed 2-pak packaging than it did to actually change the battery, but I've done it before but never on a PC. It was harder to change the battery on an old Mac G3
Any chance of you doing a pdf of this, with photos and instructions both? My memory stinks, and it's not as if I can have the computer running while I replace the battery. Great tutorial, by the way. Very complete
This is great! But now I'm wondering where to find this battery? Radio Shack has closed up here and searched Best Buy online and can't find button batteries for some reason...
Sir, thank u for this video. I used it to change my dell 745 pc battery, like you showed, but after I turned it on, it went straight to sign on screen. After signing in, it seems OK. I changed the time and date manually in the task bar, and it seems to be running OK, but i am a bit worried that I didn't complete the 'clear log' part of your video. Do I still need to do this, and if yes, how do I get to that blue screen that your video shows. Please reply.
I'm on here trying to figure out which battery I'm supposed to buy🤭 Are you able to tell me the type of battery? You got your computer to work, that's great!
I have a Dell Optiplex 745, but it does not have those light-up numbers at the bottom of it And I have a Dell Optiplex 330. It too does not have the light-up numbers on the front bottom either Both are Desktops and stand upright not laying down .
www.photonlight.com/batteries-and-battery-chargers/energizer-cr2032-lithium-battery/ It is an energizer CR2032 battery. I prefer to purchase from the above website because they provide the longest expiration dates. They offer free shipping several times each year, usually around the holidays and always around New Years day.
