Those who are not familiar with Topre wonder why its so expensive. Topre is a Japanese company that makes buttons for many industrial applications. Their switches are highly regarded in many industries so you are paying mainly for its reputation for durability and reliability. These keyboards should be very comparable to the old school keyboards like the IBM Model M in that many will still be in service after decades without breaking down.

Looking at some topre videos and I happened up this thing. Takes me back to when this channel was pushing out new videos and I had Zweihander playing on my phone daily at school
Old Tek Syndicate was cool, hasn't been a channel with the same kind of dark charm as them (or just logan) but Wendel and Lv1 Techs are fun :)
So many kids saying 'man that's too overpriced LOL no one would pay that much money for that shit' with zero expertise
Honestly, if you are thinking of buying a topre keyboard, you will not regret it one bit.
They feel far better than any cherry keyboard
Kendrick Llama I loved my leopold fc660c, but the keys were not nearly as satisfying as my cherry mx blues. Luckily it was easy to sell because I had the blank version which was rare at the time, so now I am back to using my Razer BlackWidow 2013 Ultimate. Topre keys did feel much like piano keys from what I can tell, but did not feel right to me because I am used to a lot of tactility. I do agree cherry mx browns feel like Sh!t compared to Topre, but blues are a different animal and can't be compared to topre.
Aura Tech my brother has a realforce topre keyboard and they feel much nicer than cherry blue's. cherry keys feel too scratchy ... idk
Kendrick Llama just personal preference. I prefer the clicky/deliberate feel over the smooth/soft feel.

Realforce would def win the IBM throwdown. Model Ms have 30 year old plastic rivets in them which snap off if you don't treat them gentle like.

I would love to see more reviews on low profile keyboards like the Sidewinder X4.
Since keyboards are all preference based on the user it would be nice to see that kind of variety.
Personally I got used to a laptop and had a hard time going back to bulky keyboards, so now I always use low profile keyboards like the one I mentioned previously.

Looks exactly like the 90s keyboards I was familiar with, Would like to try one kinda maybe it has a similar feel.
You might be thinking of a buckling spring keyboard, such as a IBM Model M.

I would personally prefer mx greens as those are my favorite keys but if i had to use something else i would pick these because of the satisfying feel i prefer these to blues

Personally I don't like the topre switches. I am all for mechanical (MX Blue) and buckling spring (Unicomp KB). I tried a topre keyboard at a friends house, it almost feels like popping bubble wrap every time a key is depressed, although with a stiffer force.

Not clicky but I do like the sound and it looks great to type on but way too expensive. I'll stick with my model m.

Well considering this is made for typists, you should already know where they are.
Colton Blumhagen does not mean i dont need the home row buttons, not having them is annoying due to the the way I hit the space bar with my index finger and having a bump on home row makes it easier to find.

I find it funny that a keyboard designed basically for typing does not have the home points on the f and j keys. Hearing the price for this puppy will keep me away from it. It's also interesting that the cord can go left or right but not straight ahead. When you can get a Corsair K70 for about $170 to me there is no comparison. You get mechanical Cherry MX switches and the colour (pressure) switches of your choice.

Topres are so incredibly overrated it's crazy. They are quite nice for typing, but they get mushy after about a year of daily use (speaking from experience.) I'll probably pick up a Novatouch when they're released but something like a HHKB or 660c aren't worth half of what they go for currently.

Hope you will love the spherical keycaps. :D i have one and i love it sooo much. helped me a lot in my work and ranking me up in cs go until i'm smfc. the keycap is made out of pbt and the lettering is dye sublimated which makes it really durable.
Cyka Blyat It feels incredible. I am still getting used to it because you don't have to bottom out the keys for it to input, so sometimes I am accidentally pressing keys I didn't mean to press when gaming.
+Jon Doe (Mr White Foxy) but it's almost impossible to not bottom out on topre boards. it's just too smooth i mean it has no friction on the switch. i also lubed the conical spring and the stem so.. yeah.

+Hugh Janus If you're already familiar with the SA keycaps made by Signature plastics, the hi-pro has similar keycaps. The major difference is that the hi-pro's keycaps are far more concave.

As much as I'd like a mechanical keyboard, won't be buying one till I see an ergonomic gaming version. Otherwise they are just too uncomfortable, even painful at times. Maybe because they're better suited to smaller hands, in any case, I'll stick with my microsoft ergonomic (4000) keyboard for now.
