This was the first time I heard the entire story about operation yellow ribbon! The kindness and caring that were sold to the 6000 stranger that landed in your country is amazing! They've said Austin will be with them until they start their Christmas tour. Fans think his last appearance with them will maybe be in October. They are going to pick up a new singer. They've been emphatic about that. Might already have him chosen and practicing with them, behind the scenes.
Home Free in some iteration has been going for 23 years or so. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is the only original member left. They know how to pick up the pieces and carry on.

Memorial Day is one of three distinctly different U.S. holidays honoring those who serve or served in the American military:
    1. Armed Forces Day (the third Saturday in May) honors all who are currently in uniform.
    2. Veterans Day (the 11th day of the 11th month; originally called Armistice Day) honors those who took off the uniform after serving.
    3. Memorial Day (the last Monday in May) honors those who died in uniform.
Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day began in 1868 as a day of mourning and remembrance for hundreds of thousands who were killed in the U.S. Civil War.

I remember when this song initially came out! Can't believe how long it's been. My daughter actually did a gymnastic routine using it. Complete with her red, white, & blue leotard and a salute at the end. 👍🇺🇸 She's now in her 40s! 😳 Wow! Time flies.
Lee's voice is amazing! Be was almost 80 when they did this. The addition of the US Air Force "Singing Sergeants" was just the right touch. This was done during lockdowns, by the way, with everybody in different studios around the country.
Interesting trivia tidbit: The part where they're singing place names, starting with "From the lakes of Minnesota...", every place named had a person from that place singing each line! Ex: Rob is from Minnesota. Tim is from "across the plains of Texas", etc. When Chance sings, "From sea to shining sea", it's because he was born & raised in Alabama & Florida, but now lives in California. Home Free always puts little touches like that in their videos & songs. To me, it sets them apart! ❤

Rememberance Day (November 11) is the result of World War 1, remembering those veterans and those who died. It's Veterans Day in the US, commemorating all veterans. Memorial Day initially got started in remembering those who died during the American Civil War (1861-1865). It later became a day to honor all vets who died. In many places, we also honor our dead relatives. And there are those who look at the holiday as the summer kickoff. Thanks for honoring our holiday.

Home Free released a video for God Bless the USA in 2016. It was just the five of them with Mt. Rushmore in the background. Apparently Lee Greenwood saw this and invited them to record a new one with him. This one was released in July 2020 and was recorded from 4 different spots; Washington DC and the 3 cities around the country where the guys live. If this is the first time you've heard Home Free performing with women please check out From Here to the Moon and Back ft. Maggie Baugh who accompanies them on fiddle. They also did the 1970s super hit Delta Dawn. Their official video was performed with Brooke Eden and the concert version with Maggie Baugh. The live performance with Maggie was at the Majestic Theater in Dallas, TX, New Year's Eve 2022, with the official version posted about 4 months later. Both videos are amazing and the ladies sound fantastic with our five guys.
