This song is about a legalize pot rally that was held in Hyde Park, London. The title is indeed a reference to the Misty Mountains in J. R. R. Tolkien's work (Robert was a huge fan). The musical construction happened while they were jamming and Jimmy found he had the opening to what would become this song; Jonesy helped work up the chords and chorus and they were off! You're correct, bands during this time didn't have computers, backing tracks, autotune or any of the tools performers use today; they actually had to *play* their instruments and be able to *sing*. Personally, I recommend the studio cut first then the live version (if there is one) so you can hear the "perfect" intention on the album cut then witness the improvisational mastery during the live. But, hey, it's your channel, do as you will. :)

JPJ plays bass with his feet while playing the keys!! And that crazy guitar at the end is actually the beginning of Since I've Been Loving You...they went straight into it.

You have to checkout from this same concert, Since I’ve Been Loving You, one of their greatest live performances. Instead of at the end, those little pics will pop up earlier in the video, but will disappear in about 30 seconds. Again I could barely here you or the song, your volume was perfect on your previous videos, not on these two though. Thank you for both of these reactions today, & Jimmy has so many amazing solos, he’s a guitar wizard. He also in three songs, plays his guitar with a violin bow, Dazed & Confused is one you can see him use it & master it.

Thank you for the feedback. I played around with the audio in editing and obviously went to low, so I appreciate you letting me know. I will react to your suggestion of the live performance of Since I've Been Loving You, so look for it in the next week or so. I had no idea he was using a bow on his guitar! Just goes to show how creative they were!

@ when Jimmy was a sessions guitarist, & in high demand at that, a violinist asked if he ever thought of trying it. He used it while in The Yardbirds, but perfected it while in Led Zeppelin. To bad other then their movie, you can’t see their 30 minute Dazed & Confused, & see his real artistry using it.

    Some of my favorite lyrics:
Just then a policeman stepped up to me, asked us said
    Please, hey, would we care
to all get in line, get in line
Well, you know, they asked us to stay for tea and have some fun, woh-oh-oh
He said that his friends would all drop by
I always think of a white dude getting high in a park and a cop asks him and his friends politely, Hey, would y’all care to get in line? Then they enjoy some tea, lol. Might be lil different for a black guy, lol.

The only newer band I will listen to and that sound great live is Greta Van Fleet! I'm 65 years old!
