See, this is why I love Nickelback. They've got great influences (Metallica, Dimebag Darrel), aren't afraid to show them off, and I've always gotten a vibe from them of 'just guys having fun'. Maybe it's all polished and such in the studio, but I never got a sense from Nickelback that they were anything but a good-time rock-and-rolling band. If you break it down it's basically the same anthemic rock/metal, the big sing-along choruses and the chunky riffs, that Motley Crue, Poison, AC/DC, Van Halen, Twisted Sister pioneered.

People say that they don't do the full covers because they couldn't do them. Are you sure about that? Because I've been to a couple concerts where the band's could have but they didn't. And they most likely cut them short because they have a time limit for the concert.
I'm pretty sure it's licensing/having public performance rights. There's a certain amount you can play without getting into trouble if you haven't got official permission I *THINK* and I know if I'm wrong someone's going to get me lol
