Same here been roofing for 13 years now and must say these guys are good shit. We are built different and take pride in our work that's why we always think about roofs. This crew is one the only people doing it right on RUclips
Nice video, and nice shingling speed for the piddley part of the roof! You use some different techniques than myself, but it seems to work well for you. I'll have to consider the kicker shingle, as I usually spend a lot of time popping the framing nails out at the bottom of the valley so I can slide my shingle and ice/shield in 6" or so. Side tip, but this year was the first year I got an Equipter, and it is absolutely the best investment ever! Nevermind that It's equivalent in labor saving to a full time labourer, but it's worth it for the advertising alone! With a heloc my financing comes to $116 CDN a month! There is a reason nobody who owns one complains about it.
Hey brother! Roofer in training here in Louisville. Love watching your videos, your process is completely different from what we do here but I enjoy your work. Keep the videos coming!
@@NWIVeteranConstruction when your doing one half of the roof and Boycub is doing the other side, and you’re both shingling from the eave to the ridge….how is the “point” where you meet Boycub supposed to look? I finally finished the rental house and now the top point (where two opposing planes meet) looks like overlapped granule portion of the shingle. I used GAF NS charcoal color and the exposed part of the shingle spans the ridge. Do I just conceal it with charcoal ridge cap shingles? Thanks
The gang is back together. You can tell he knows how you like things now. Probably best that he left for awhile, got some confidence, and also realized the grass isnt always greener.
6:55 a better way to do that is no flashing there just take some soffit off and make sure your shingle is pushed all the way back and run it up to your dormer, then do your valley.
Can you explain why you did the valley here the same way boy cub was doing it on his return video (and you tore of and did the opposite)? Is it because the dormer roof is the same pitch as the main roof? Did you do the other side of this dormer the same way or did the dormer shingles extend first onto the main roof? So confused right now 🤔
So, most valleys are done this way... where that valley line goes above the ridge... because you want to run your lower slope first. The one with boycub was weird because there was a pitch change. The reverse gable peak was steeper than the pitch it died into. If you're looking to see typical valleys, you can see 2 more on my page. One is it's own video, and the other is in the 2 hour long video, there's a time stamp on the description or Comment section
I'm glad to see another use a shingle as a straight edge to cut your gable. Looks nice and clean man! Probably faster without a tosser though. And much respect but do you not use step flashing ? Take care man
