I don't think that's going to happen. They do this because Lars needs a break. The last few years you can clearly see he's struggling. He's pushing his body to keep up. Videos from rehearsals and backstage just before entering the stage, shows that he gets his arms and shoulders massaged a lot. He's probably getting a massage during the doodle.
Some of these doodles are staight out awful, and Rob's voice is probably the worst voice of all the great musicians ever. But if this is what we have to endure for Lars to be able to perform a full show, I'm good with it. :)

Kirk has a good voice for early maiden.
Look at like this, he's not a trained singer, yet his voice isn't too horrible. Imagine what a bit of proper training could do for him.

I was there and it was a real bad sound mix and this part of the show was especially bad i just remember everyone on our stand sitting down wondering what the hell they were playing ...... What a mess definitely the worse time I've ever seen metallica bad stage design if your ticket is at the side of the stage the lasers looked about 6ft long and dull in the day light, the fireworks were pointless for those under a stadium roof just proves that its all about the money
