Brilliant presentation. I typically use the 5 vertical spaces as this is very simple for youth players to visualize. It also allows for coaching visual cues of overlaps/underlaps for the fullbacks and/or midfielders.
Your way of explaining football is pretty unique and informative. Its only a matter of months and you have will have a few hundred thousand subscribers. Please keep making content regularly.
🙏🙏🙏 Hey please can you do a detailed video on gegenpressing and how is it implemented in training sessions how they r practised with examples from klopp naglsmann and pep. Also can u explain rotations in pitch detailed. How is rotations attained while gegenpressing
I’m just going to say, having watched football since 2008 and just now getting deep into football tactics, this video alone allows me look at certain parts of the pitch and see what’s going on exactly in the areas and know why.
Superb work 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Loved how to approached in a stepwise manner from horizontal to vertical to the new mixed systems. Always something new to learn from your videos 💯
It is funny, i never knew these playing, but we naturally played it. Just like putting a table between you playing tag, you understand spacing..... It is the designs that get complex, and how certain players change what can be done from where.
I’ve seen several of your videos, and I like how you make efforts to increase the quality over time. Just dropping in to say that I like the name of the channel. “Football meta”: for some reason this makes me think of football more as a game, almost brings out a feeling of child-like enthusiasm for football when thinking about it.
Zone 1; the area from your goal line, covering the pitch in its entirety only excluding the oppositions penalty box Zone 2; the Erling Braut Haaland zone
it depends on the ABILITY of the players and their abilities to react correctly to pressure You can overload a midfield if your team has the ability and, understand how to play under constant pressure
This video explains why jack grealish is underperforming by fans expectation's because it will take time for a new joined player to settle down pep Guardiola's style
I coach a U14 B team. One the Build Up phase, do you recommend having the forwards on the opponents side of the field? I ask bc I have maybe two players that can pass a ball in the air more than 25 yards. Any modifications suggested?
Some random person here. Yes, while your fullback can't reach your CF. Your CF is just 1 pass out of range, and teaching them something correct now will be easier then fixing something wrong later.
In the final zonal system, does there always have to be one player in the half space regardless of what position or is it an attacker in the half space
I think half spaces are mostly talked about during the final phase of the attack but I don't think that means they aren't important during buildup or other phases. One of the benefits of having the ball in the half space is it opens up passing options. You can have passing options in all directions as opposed to being all the way wide where you are pressed against the sideline.
There's a lot! Depending on what you're looking for, but a great book I'm currently reading is "inverting the pyramid". It's a classic and helps explain the transition and evolution from one style of football to the next. "The mixer" and "zonal marking" are also great, but are slightly less tactical
Check out some of the playlists I already have, but will definitely keep making and adding more tactics.. a good throughball can win a game, so keep working on that 💪🏻

what if ball is played in the progress zone and then the opponent's third line goes back? do the team has to enter the progress again? or are they still in this phase?
I think for players to learn the zones you go over it once or twice, maybe give the players a handout to take home and look at. I think the more you reference the zones while talking to your players about the game the more they will understand. So, maybe you want them to cross the ball sooner so when you are explaing it you tell them to cross it from the edge of zone 15. Remember too that spilting the field up like this is most beneficial when you have a clear and defined set of tactics you are trying to implement. It's just a tool to help players orient themselves while they execute the teams tactics
Can you make a tactic or coaching guide for amateurs?
Chuck it in the mixer, chaos in the box, fight for second balls an show passion

how can we improve our understanding of the game? are there certain books?

what if ball is played in the progress zone and then the opponent's third line goes back? do the team has to enter the progress again? or are they still in this phase?
