Your videos are getting deeper, those courses are paying dividends, you're among a few YT tacticians giving their audience a sneak peek into movement & positioning and how these qualities affect the roles players(& teams) deploy in. A big, big, thanks, I must say.
Playing defense is an art. It isn't always easy to defend the goal in the defensive third. That's why the best defenders leave nothing to chance, playing proactively rather than reactively when it comes to defending the goal. Making sure the ball lies safe is the art of defense. That said there are areas of play where there is scope for creativity in defense. Such plays are based on sacrificing possession for robust defensive position. And once the ball is lying in a safe area getting back into the more natural positions of play. This I mention about, when it comes to defending the final third. The art of defense is more a matter of getting back into the game rather than giving away the play, because defense lies as a part of the game and not the purpose of it. It is rather a style of play just like one plays the art of possession or attack. The game itself encompasses all styles of play. Thanks to FM for a very well thought out video
defense is the most underrated part of the game which needs more recognition SAF was right back then "A gud attack win you games but a good defense wins u trophies"
The amount of knowledge and insight you provide has been vast and impressive. Very useful as a player and as an aspiring manager. I doubt most of my coaches even know this! A big big thanks 💪❤
As an up coming manager this course is so important. A lot of managers today can’t explain this in detail as you do! I did consult you for details when I have a match to manage!!
Good video, my days of real soccer is over since 2009 cause of a knee injury. But I play FIFA your videos helps me to play better in FIFA even though FIFA is just a video game, it's almost like real soccer!
Great explanation. Here's a tip to defend - never look at the player, always look at the ball, you will never be fooled, doesn't matter how many steps overs, shoulder dips, you do not move unless the ball moves. Not easy, but doable.
There was a lot of details man. So many thinks to write down and take note of. First thing I am looking at today's Top League matches are the back line.
The look at the defense in its own box, we know that’s dangerous if you’re the defending team, even if you have your midfielders in there, the game at that point can become pinball when the pass into the box from the end line or a cross in the box. It also seems at that point team focus and being highly alert is the essential. Like in a very very major way. Because the defense can try to do all it can and do everything right but yet still concede.
hey man,pls make a video on teams which had solid backline and their positioning, and explain the tactics of parking the bus used by many managers notably jose mourinho chelsea, sean dyche burnley
Hi Coach, me again! I was wondering how to break a flanked full back in a deep inverted ring-based diagonal, is it better to exploit a gapped high box or push through the final third by using a man made aerial duel flipped baseline?
Finally, someone who knows what they're talking about! The ring based diagonal is a tricky one to break, don't get me started on how to stop it if the opposition is using a doubled-winghalf (good luck!). I think you're spot on in your analysis of exploiting the gapped high box, but you're gonna need excellent defensive-minded inverted playmakers. Tell me, how do you use your onward back-rushers?
@@FootballMeta How I use my OBRs? Simple, I don't! I figured that by using the Artinian ring coefficient I can lower the opposition's defensive line to a point where the high box is squeezed out of existence...
Just a question - I always find formations easier to show to players when they are the other way up, as in the defending team is at the bottom and we are looking UP the pitch, the way they are facing. Is there a reason you have done it the other way around?
Good point, I guess I was so used to looking at offensive tactics that I just put the defending team at the top, but what you say makes more sense so I'll keep that in mind next time, cheers
So that's why I couldn't comprehend the illustrations! XD I was just confused throughout the video because what he said and what was shown didn't correlate.
I've tried but never like what it comes up with, what made you think it was ai? 🤣 I usually have 4/5 titles and change them to see if there's one that does better
@@FootballMeta Sorry, I don't mean to be accusatory lol I love and watch all your videos. The title was just *very* broad but got me to click ASAP so I was like "huh" Your videos are world class tho, never stop

It's rare to see videos explaining organized defense. And that's funny as it's equally as important as attacking. So thanks for making one.

and if someone run behind you? You have to check your shoulders
