2 Questions: 1. How often must you replace the battery charger and where is it located? 2. Do the engine valves require adjustment, if so how often? And... how do you adjust the valves? Thanks...
The manual for an RS20A specifies 0w30 oil. What is the oil filter part number? The battery negative terminal should be disconnected before doing any maintenance on the generator. What was the spark plug maintenance that was performed?
Great point, always disable the starter when working on any engine. Pulling the fuse on some generator models disables the start circuit. New models have disable switches.
Who would you suggest do the valve adjustment when the dealer refuses to call back? I was quoted $1300 by another company which is outrageous. Can a car mechanic do it with the specs from the manual?
Yes, you left out how to get access to the filter/drain tube, etc. No removal? Malcolm is correct. Why make a video that fails to show how to get to that area? Major flaw. Sorry, but it's true.
That is a vangard 993 engine (I had one in Briggs and Stratton 20 KW standby genset) , they call for a 0.02" gap, but I have also noticed in other vangard specs as much as 0.035".
This Video just save me some money Thank You

How do you remove the Cover? I have on and it is not obvious? Remember most of us do not do this work every week or every month!

How do you find out what gap to set on the spark plugs?
