  • The dust has barely settled since Boeing’s President and Chief Executive Dave Calhoun announced that he would step down at the end of 2024. However, new details have emerged about the executive’s salary. In a securities filing on Friday, April 5th, Boeing said Calhoun would not be considered for an annual incentive bonus of nearly $3 million. At the same time, it was revealed that Calhoun received $33 million in compensation for 2023 - an increase of nearly 50% from 2022. There have been even more eyebrow-raising numbers revealed - and we’ll look at them all for today’s video…

That’s just salary I’m sure. Look at the stock options. I’m sure way more! All these big CEO have 2-5 million base salary but waaaaaay more in other compensation

@@Wileybird03 Incorrect in 2021 per Bloomberg the Airbus CEO salary was 3 million euro, 1.35 was base, 1.4 bonus & 287k incentives from previous year. So yes it was 3 million in total including everything. In 2019 the same CEO also donated his whole bonus to NGO's & humanitarian organisations. In the past Airbus exec pay has been discussed at government level in France despite it mostly being private firm now.

@@Wileybird03 True that is how it works, especially re stock options, but things are often slightly different in Europe thankfully, especially for those firms that were oneonce nationalisted entities or have some level of significance to government contracts/utilities etc. Boeing should be held to same level given how big their military contract business is & how linked it is generally to the government/a key industry

In America, upper management is rewarded even though they were the ones who are at the heart of the train wreck. If the angry spotlight were not so bright, Calhoun would have quietly skated away with the bonuses...just like his predecessors.
