And wild west representation was not so grounded, more like crazy one and fun. Although it had drama in the end. Powerful one.

I feel like xdefiant is not chill because needing to constantly strafe back and forth like you're snaking in mario kart DS to be more accurate is not chill at all, needing to jump mid-gunfight while you adjust your aim at the jumping sweat you're playing against has me preferring to play MW3 and just back out of EOMM autolose lobbies because that is what I will end up doing in sweaty xdefiant lobbies anyways. I stopped playing after ADD3R4LLWRLD999 dropped 40 kills on me in a tdm. Skill issue I know, sorry I can't keep up with people on amphetamines. Honestly the whole state of multiplayer FPS game is making Quake Champions look real fuckin good. I say all that to say, the problem with multiplayer shooters is primarily the players. Give them an old school cod style game sure, but they are full of gfeul and vyvanse now, the game is not chill. If anyone has any suggestions for a casual fps game that isn't full of zoomers on drugs I really want to know, I'm not trying to sound so bitter lol.

for RDR2 I played it on launch so I'm sure the hype helped drive me through it, but it definitly is a slow burn, typical rockstar game structure. The second time I played it over was a 2 week period where I didn't have internet access, so I had a lot of time to do nothing and that helped me get through it again. Man we have been playing almost all the same games recently. I went through the SAME thing with RDR2 where i was debating whether or not I really wanted to get into it all the way and commit. (I played it on ps4 years ago when it came out as well) I ended up getting all the way into it and beating it and it was so worth it. I advise you to do the same. The game really picks up and once you get invested enough in the story, you cant stop playing. One thing that would help bypass a lot of the downtime is download the rampage trainer from nexus mods if you're on PC because you can teleport and skip riding your house to the missions.

I just finished playing Dear Esther, and it's some avant-garde stuff. While I adore it, it's definitely not for everybody. You can look up why on your own time. Currently, I'm playing Battlefield 1, which, next to Titanfall 2, offers the most immersive multiplayer experience I've ever engaged with in a video game. The other game I'm playing is The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, the second game in a long-running 12-part JRPG series that tells one cohesive overarching story. If you like good stories, characters, and especially world-building, the Trails series offers the very best in video games, period. In many ways, it makes the narrative design of games like Fallout: New Vegas look elementary by comparison.

    • @BBKDRAGOON
      @BBKDRAGOON  Месяц назад +1

    • @fader_dotcom5091
      @fader_dotcom5091 Месяц назад

@@BBKDRAGOON When deciding where to start, people will either tell you to begin at the very beginning or that you can start at the beginning of any arc. In my opinion, you should start with the very first game, which is part of the Sky Arc: "The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC." While other arcs, such as the Crossbell Arc, could be a good starting point, you'll inevitably end up going back to the Sky Arc. Without it, you'll miss a lot of context and appreciation for various parts of the overarching story. This is especially true for the Cold Steel Arc; from what I've heard, it can be a rude awakening when the lack of context hits you.
Finding yourself in this situation can be discouraging, so why not just start from the beginning to prevent it? In essence, starting from the very beginning ensures that you:
      a. are never lost in terms of what's going on, and
      b. don't ruin the experience of the Trails series for yourself.
Chronological order is the intended and best experience.
      The order is:
      1. Sky Arc (3 games)
      2. Crossbell Arc (2 games)
      3. Cold Steel Arc (5 games)
      4. Calvard Arc (Currently, there are 2 entries, with the 2nd one not yet released in the West.)
      Hope this helps! ;)

Red Dead 2 is definitely one of those once in a lifetime games. The first time i tried to play it i gave up in chapter 2 and i think that happens to a lot of people because there's not really any tension/urgency to the story until you get to the end of chapter two. Its kind of just exploring for the sake of it and doing missions with different members of the gang to get to know them. But after you finish all that the story really picks up and i was hooked for like a 120 hour playthrough including the epilogues, one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. Good luck cowboy

For the casual mp fps, I would recommend TF2 Classic. They kind of pitch it as TF2 but what if they never went into the cosmetic stuff and just focused on game updates, that pre-2010 time was really cool and this mod captures a lot of that. Still very popular, there aren't 5000 weapons built-in like in TF2 (there can be but that's up to the server host if they want to have custom weapons). They have more arena-style game modes, took up developing the cut VIP mode with the civilian, and more. It's always a really good time, people are usually fun to talk to and you'll usually find very active servers at seemingly any time of day. I don't really like TF2 that much anymore, but I can fire this thing up and always have a good time.

Red Dead 2 is a slow game, and its supposed to be. If you think about 1899 the world moved slower back then. If it helps Red Dead 2 is more of a game to play for vibes, not necessarily an action shooter 24/7. There is so much to discover so many random events that take place and side quest to follow. One of the things I would recommend is the hunting is very underrated. When you can finally bring down a legendary animal and gathered all the 3 star pelts from non legendary animals and make garments out of them it feels extremely rewarding. I would say Red Dead tries to capture the players intrigue more than their attention. TLDR; Explore, Discover, Relax

for rdr2, by the time i finished it (not even 100%ing it) i had over 700 hours sunk into it. I was late starting it also and had said to myself numerous times "this really released in 2018??" when i started mid last year. but hey, it's R* so shouldn't be all that surprising really that their titles (more so modern ones) can hold up almost a decade or so later. I also was wanting more in some missions with the action beats etc as at times i could find myself saying "is that all?" or something to that effect - but it would make sense for brief or limited encounters in some of the circumstances. i still appreciated the down time in missions when going to and from however; helps gives tidbits of the missions, character insights, bits of banter, world building info and the works. that formula (3:00-3:15) can make it feel a lil rinse and repeat at times but i couldn't recommend it more to stick with it because it can and will pick it towards the later end of chapter 2/starting parts of chapter 3. if you want to play it and explore everything the world has to offer, it genuinely will be a heavyyyy commitment, but the game really is something that has to be experienced at least once

MW2, MW3 and BO2 are very populated on this clients considering how old they are. BO1 and BO3 are also decently populated. COD4 and WAW only have a few players, and ghosts and AW are sadly dead but theres bot support.
The usual population for multiplayer on the modded clients is:
    - COD4: ~15 players
    - WAW: ~10 players
    - MW2: ~80 players
    - BO1: ~40 players
    - MW3: ~120 players
    - BO2: ~400 players
    - ghosts: ~2 players
    - AW: ~2 players
    - BO3: ~30 players

RDR 2 is great - No spoilers here; just a tip to get through
Dont gun it too much through the story just to get through it. The game is better when youre taking it at a slower pace, kind of matching the energy of the story, but its time consuming. One of those games thatll feel like youve lived in it after youve been through it.

RDR2 is a magnificent game with one of the best stories I have ever played. Its biggest downfall is just how much stuff there is to do outside the main story. You can easily bloat your playtime to well over 100 hours. I do recommend at least playing through the main storyline as it is a wonderful story.
I was a day 1 Cyberpunk player and where the game is now compared to launch is night and day. The game is what it should have been at launch now. The Phantom Liberty DLC was great and the base game needed more of that feel. It’s still a game I enjoy playing after the 2.0 update.

    Coming to recommendations: GTA 5
Lol am joking - Half life 2, Watch dogs 2|(underrated), infamous second son.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is definitely worth pushing through because the ending is spectacular. My tips? I will go chapter by chapter.
Chapter 1: Considered a pretty weak chapter I would just speedrun the story till next chapter
Chapter 2: The calmest chapter that really gives you a chance to explore the world, take a deep breathe of appreciation and do some funny gameplay. You may realize that this game brings out the sadistic part of you. In my case, I enjoy lassoing npcs that annoy me, dragging them across the floor with my horsey and do unspeakable horrors to him
Chapter 3: The story starts picking up and gets more engaging. Its still like Chapter 2 for the most part
Chapter 4: You are introduced to a pretty cool part of the map. The story gets intense here
Chapter 5: This chapter is actually pretty badly received by the community but imo its underrated. You will understand why once you play it. Story wise its important.
Chapter 6: The best chapter story wise and the last chapter. But because of the story there are minor gameplay limitations but it more than makes up for it. My favorite chapter in the game.
Epilogues: If you didn't know, there is an epilogue to this game. The first part of the epilogue is badly received but the second part is really good and has a fan favorite mission
    *Important Tip*
you do not need to follow this but the honor system of the game affects the story. The ending of the game (chapter 6) is greatly affected by your honor. Most of the community agrees that the ending is much more impactful with high honor rather than low. But in any case you should look at all possible endings after completing the game.
    Final tip:
    Take it slow

RDR2 is one of those games that want to be played in a specific way in order to have the most fun. I wasn‘t sold on my First playtrough either, but when I started to play it like a „realisitic Roleplaying“ Game or „living in the wild West Simulator“ it clicked. Try to see and immerse yourself in the World like you would life in it, not just because of the shootouts, heist, action or to finish it. Everthing, even the Gameplay has one purpose, immersion.
The Trick for me was not to play Arthur, but to be him, just livin my life and don’t give af how long it (the game/ story) will last if that makes sence.

A multiplayer fps I would honestly try out is xdefiant if you like a fast paced shooter. It’s free so if you’re not into it then you could just uninstall it and you haven’t spent a nickle on it.
As for singleplayer fps games I know you love the half life games but you should definitely try half life both 1 and 2 with mmod installed. It enhances the visuals as well as making the gunplay even smoother. It is the definitive way to play those games imo.
I’ve been playing shadow of the erdtree and it’s been so much fun to hop back into the lands between again! I’ve also tried new action games like the wonderful 101 which I also highly recommend. For MP FPS, my current favorite is *Fistful of Frags* which is amazing fun with a high skill bar.
Unfortunately, I have yet to find a decent arena style shooter and I've had enough of CoD and clones. *Quake Champions* is excellent, but has few players. *Angels Fall First* has a lot of promise, but also no playerbase. *Halo MCC* serves as a filler for now.
I've also found myself returning to *Vermintide 2* almost every year, since I started playing it back in ~2018. I was hoping *W40K Darktide* would be just as good, but so far the reviews are mixed, so I'm still waiting for Fastshark to improve the game before purchasing it.
