Absolutely agree here. I always felt my sonicare clean far better being able to break down plaque inbetween tooth and felt clean for hours compared to a normal toothbrush or anything physically brushed.
There are many case studies involving over 250 people with a 97% completion rate, that suggest that the original, oscillating electric tooth brush is performing much better at pretty much everything. From plaque removal to lowering gingivitis, up to 30% over a sonic tooth brush. Apparently the strokes per minute are NOT the important factor here, but a simple design difference, which may lead to people giving their individual teeth less attention while using a sonic toothbrush, vs a round head, oscillating brush. ERGO, round head oscillating is still better. Also, consider that the sonic toothbrush may not be for you, if you already have sensitive gums or teeth, as it will feel very weird in the beginning (tingling). Most tooth brushes are simply #1 due to design, features and marketing, not actual performance vs performance marks. Case in point, Philips deems it necessary to put their product in your hands for free for review. Where Oral-B are not required to force the preview.
I have sensitive gums. Oral-B killed my gums like a manual toothbrush, but sonicare is not. If you use the right technique... But many people don't read the manual before they using the electric toothbrushes.
@@antwantw that is a true point. Reading the manual is a #1 problem resulting in misuse of a product. The goes hand in hand with picking the right brush for your teeth and gums. Many ppl use the wrong brush type and too much pressure, plus poor technique that results in a bad experience even injury
I'm one of those people who always gets moaned at by the dentist. Years ago I had an ultrasonic, and each dental visit he dentist said I was doing a good job cleaning. Then I went back to manual, and was moaned at. I then went to oral B and am still moaned at. I am thinking of going back to ultrasonic to see if I get moaned at or congratulated. That would seem to be the real test of a brush system.
I have both, Sonicare Diamond and Oral B Genius. For people with braces absolutely choose sonicare, there’s no comparison with Oral B even with the ortho attachment it did pathetic job. Sonicare cleans perfectly with braces. Once my braces are off I’ll see which one performs better. For now Sonicare is the winner.
It's funny that a few people want to say he has been bought by one or the other. He literally gave the perfect example of unbiased information. Not sure I would call it a review though because you never talked about a preference or a better result in the end.
Oral B was morally and legally correct in declining to give you a free tooth brush! Hats off to oral B. Our family has been using the oral B for more than 21 years and we have had many different oral B models throughout the years with good teeth cleaning results. The only thing that disappoints us with oral B is the poor battery life which starts to degrade within the two years of use forcing you go buy a new one, something like the stupid iPhone trick of built in redundancy. This may in the long run play against oral B since even loyal customers like us are eventually going to look for other brands with longer charge interval and longer battery life.
I have used sonicare for years. Way back in the late 90s my orthodontist hounded me for months to get one. When I finally did my dental check ups were so much better. Cleanings with the hygienist were so short compaired to the painful blood baths they were with manual brush use. Then after having to replace a few sonicares I was short on cash and decided to try the Oral-B vitality for only $25 at BJ's wholesale. I been using it a few years and its ok, better than going back to manual. My check up and cleaning are not quite as great, the brushing action of the Oral-b is very different and some what feels like a jack hammer in your mouth. I am going back to Sonicare. I just ordered me a new Flexcare platinum from Amazon.
Cool, didnt need any other information already know who i wanna go for then! Buying me that sonic care phillips tomorrow. Still gonna watch whole video

I hate to say what’s best because then the comment section gets riddled with people saying in paid by xyz company but the one I personally use is the Oral B electric toothbrush
Hi there! Thank you for your very informative video...I own both toothbrushes, and as you mentioned in your video, both are different experiences. The Oral B is easier to use; however, the battery drains fast, and it does not spin as quickly when it starts to die down. Even when the battery has not been charged in a few days or is at the second marker, it can take as much as a day or even more than a day to fully charge. That is not the case with the Sonicare.
Just bought Oral B Vitality and used it . Been using Walmart ( for almost two years ) knock off generic toothbrush that looks similar to other Oral B ones . The difference between the two is while the WM generic one (Equate ) does seem to have more brute power while the Oral B Vitality is a bit less rough more refined or more controllable . It was a nice change though for now it'll mostly be my backup or inbetween morning and evening cleaning one . I've no problem using both . I believe both will definitely do its job .
I got the oral be with the cross action brush head while using arm and hammer extreme tooth paste and in about a week I started to see my teeth whitening. No joke the oral b has 6700 oscillations a minute, much better than sonic.
Overall the Sonicare line feels more futuristic and premium imo. Also Id like to point out that the ADA seal of aproval is likely bought by OralB. Big corporations do that.
You are using it wrong!!! You should just put the brush onto your teeth and gently guide it through. Not brush it with your hand like how you do with a traditional toothbrush. Watch the god damn manual please.
Alan Wu technically any toothbrush manual or electric should be used following the “bass” technique of brushing where you angle the bristles of the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle between the interface of the tooth and the gums. You are correct with regards to the amount of force that should be applied when using an electric toothbrush. Due to the mechanism of action, you simply need to glide the toothbrush tooth by tooth along the gumline as mentioned above. I’m sorry if that was demonstrated clearly in the video. Glad to see your enthusiasm for oral hygiene 👏🏼
@@SmileInfluencers all you need to do is glide it along your teeth and let it do its work. Anymore manual work is just unnecessary and could be damaging. You must be a very new "dentist" lol

I have had two dentists try and sell me Oral B brushes. Both said they got rebates from Braun. Ironically, it was dentist 20 years ago that recommended Sonicare.
The hole allows water teo come out while rinsing inside of the Oral B brush heads, while sonicare's brush heads don't have holes to allow water to come out while rinsing the inside. Mold builds if a users leaves a brush head on an electric toothbrush for a long time.
Would you please create a video showing how to properly clean each tooth and gum area with the electric brushes so your younger patients can understand how to brush effectively. Thank You!!
If you care about your teeth, you need the Braun/Oral-B and the Philips/Sonicare. They ae sufficiently different to justify using both. It's annoying that Philips doesn't provide a small, round head. But like, the Rotadent trumps these two with ease. Rotadent is the ONLY powered tooth clinically proven to be just as effective as flossing AND brushing. The super tiny bristles goes below the gum line and cleans sub gingivally. I don’t think you ever heard of it.
San Diego Dentistry awesome! I have the procare model. And if you do actually check it out, it will tickle your gums because it’s going in between the gums and the teeth.
Fyi that's not how you are supposed to use the brush. To get the best result you must angle the brush properly by gliding it slowly and smoothly in-and-out of your tooth. To let the bristle move up and down motion cleaning your outer, inner layer and your interdental tooth.
I should have spent more time illustrating proper brushing technique! My bad... I do have other videos illustrating the proper bass method of brushing involving angling the bristles of the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle at the interface between the gingiva and the teeth!
I got tired of a dead battery, tired of the vibrating noice in my mouth, tired of electric toothbrushes, I use MD Brush and would highly recommend it to everyone. Let’s face it, brushing my teeth is a mind-numbing exercise. As a result, it was only natural for me to get sloppy and brush incorrectly. By its mere design MD Brush promotes the ADA recommended BASS Technique, which is basically brushing at 45 degrees. MD Brush also has tapered bristles so you get the gunk/bacteria below the gum line as we the teeth. Check it out MDbrush.com on the web or on RUclips.
All oral b electric toothbrush clean teeth the same way, the only difference is the new brushing technology. The Oral B Genius Series and IOS series toothbrush basically track out where a users brushing on the Oral B app, while Oral B Pro Smartseries toothbrushes basically track out the brushing time on the Oral B app. The Cleaning Technology on all Oral B electric toothbrush is Osciallating, so it doesn't really matter if you use a newer or an older Oral B model. However, the Older models are more fordable, while the Newer Oral B Genius and IO Series Toothbrush are expense. Older models around $40-$50 dollars, while newer models are around $100-$300 dollars.

" I hope this video help you to get a better understanding..." of what? the level of noise? the number of buttons? As a dentist could you offer a professional review? to the process of whitening, how does it work? what are the chemical and mechanical reactions? Jesus, its like I watched a teenage girl reviewing a new iphone case. P.S you actually made a reference to iphone... jesus
Purpose of the video was to give a simplistic review regarding the major differences between the electric toothbrushes! I can definitely make a more detailed review about whitening but I feel as though that should be in a separate video. In fact, I do have another video on the channel illustrating the chemical process of whitening! Will take your feedback into consideration!
You don't have to be smart to know the oscillating-rotating brush head machanism surely does better cleaning routine. 😉👍 The patented O-R brush head is the cause other brands try to compete with its... Manual Brush Head with Motor. 🤭😁
I have an electric toothbrush. Battery operated. $10.. Tell me how the hell can u justify spending that much? I dont give a damn about bells & whistles. I wanna know if its brushing performance is worth the cost! Sounds like it may be from what u say..
The speed at which the head rotates. The 7-9000 oral bs are the best. Even the 5000 is good. It’s the basic ones that have a weaker motor. U want more spins per second.
This is straight up propaganda!! Theres NO WAY any model of the Oral B is better than Sonicare! And AS IF a dentist cant afford the 'top of the line' toothbrush he most recommends! More like Oral B gave him a big bag of money to go buy his own and he chose a cheap one cause he knows theyre all equally crap!! My bf just gave me the new Oral B Genius in rosegold to eventually replace my Sonicare cause, according to every review online, its universally and unequivocally a 5 star toothbrush!! I used it and its just the same rotating head of every other model only it has a rechargr case and a stupid app to 'track your whitening journey'! I used Oral B my entire adult life which lent to constant cavities and stains and ripped up gums! I got the Sonicare a few years ago and its one of the few consumer products I can wholeheartedly reccomend and justify paying over $250 for! It removed all my stains almost immediately!! I didnt even believe a toothbrush could do thus!

Skyler Drabing I’ve seen this type of comment before. I don’t see where in the video I give a recommendation for either brand. I explain what each toothbrush does , the mechanism of action, the style of brush head and what the ADA ( american dental association ) stance is on the matter. I link both toothbrushes in the description as I am an amazon affiliate as described in the description. Oral B & Sonicare have not contacted me before or after I made this video. In fact, I worked really hard to give an honest representation of both brands....
San Diego Dentistry he is referring to the user above that said to try the Burst toothbrush, not to your video :) (and he's actually right, I've seen spam comments like that one linking to the Burst website below many video comparisons)
What's up! I actually have just started contacting some companies to see if they can supply products for me to check out. I think the next electric toothbrush review will be there quip! I haven't heard of the burst but ill check it out. Is that what you are using right now? How do you like it?
San Diego Dentistry I’m thinking about buying it, but haven’t seen it reviewed by anyone other than its ambassadors. It’s $40, and claims to be better than the two products you have reviewed here. Looking forward to your post!
LOL - Buy your own... That was good... for us. A lot of doctors will simply tell the patient to buy the most expensive one. But then you mention they are too expensive even for you (very good). Now there is a reality check. But I was surprised that you, as a Dr, didn't get into which one cleaned better.? Hmm... that seems to be the most important part of buying a toothbrush. It would have been a "bone head" response to only review the ones that sent you a free product... Hmm, would bias and ethics have anything to do with it.? Soo glad to see you still did a decent review of the two of them and that you went out to buy your own...
He is definitely sponsored by oral b . Oral B is so bad , the mechanism is the exact same as a normal 5 dollar electric toothbrush . Your just paying for sensors . Get a 5 dollar electric toothbrush and you’ll get the same clean . Sonicare uses totally different technology that cleans better , I had an oral B before and every time I went to the dentist I was told that my teeth are more yellow than they should be and I have too much food in my teeth , so I got a Sonicare and instantly I felt a difference . The only reason oral b is recommended by the ADA is because it’s an American company while Phillips is a German company . They wouldn’t make the best toothbrush a brand that’s not from the US . This review is fake and unjust .
Gabriel Rousseau sorry you feel that way! I didn’t recommend either product... simply stated what the ada (American dental association) states... wish I could have made that more clear in the video or made it so it doesn’t seem biased
I totally agree with you! I had a Crest Spinbrush & upgraded to a Sonicare 4100. The Oral B Pro 1000 with the CrossAction head felt TOO aggressive, & just as good as my Crest Spinbrush, no better than it, if the AA batteries were fully recharged in the Spinbrush. The fact that the Sonicare is more sophisticated, & that it's vibrating sonic motion cleans just as well without being too aggressive is what made me buy Sonicare over Oral B.
I didn't specifically say in the video because both are awesome tools for your oral hygiene. I wanted to present all the facts & let you make the decision! Appreciate the comment!
you're a dentist that makes over $150,000 a year and you can't afford the top of the line oral b that's $130? you have the shittest autofocus camera....that shit can't even detect your face from the background? how do you put up crappy out of voice video like this? is that what you do for your patient too?

You're so good.... Please teach us rotary endo also
Another video said the ADA seal of approval is nothing more than an Okay for safe to put in your mouth
I got tired of a dead battery, tired of the vibrating noice in my mouth, tired of electric toothbrushes,
I use MD Brush and would highly recommend it to everyone.
Premium does not have comparasion grades. It can'yt me be more premium. Premium IS premium.
Why u compare old model Oral-B?
Where is Oral-B Pulsonic Slim Luxe/ONE?
Sonicare electric toothbrush less likely to cause bleeding compared to the Oral B
How can you challenge 31000 spm! ADA? 🤔
Isn’t the Oral-B manufactured by The company that makes crest toothpaste. So I won’t be surprised that I got the ADA approval
It is, in many countries crest toothpaste is even straight up called Oral-B toothpaste.
@@kiliandjfilms Ya like Oral B 3d White and Cred 3d white toothpaste are basecially the samething. Oral B 3d white strips and Crest 3d white strips are also the samething too.
Which is better? Oral b pro 3000 or burst?
I just got an aqua sonic and i feel like I just left the dentist
All car buffers and polisher are round and rotate.
Which tooth brush do you currently use
Please review the Oliver James Sonic & $30 below Electric Toothbrush
Oliver James Sonic?? Ill look it up
I have the oral B and it’s clinically proven to get rid of plaque in my opinion it’s better
Great vid! Electric tooth brushes all the way!
You don't have to be smart to know the oscillating-rotating brush head machanism surely does better cleaning routine. 😉👍
The patented O-R brush head is the cause other brands try to compete with its...
Ellaova I’m glad you love your sonicare toothbrush!

This is the second video I went to trying to see what people thought of each brand, and here you are again. Someone is definitely paying you.
San Diego Dentistry he is referring to the user above that said to try the Burst toothbrush, not to your video :)
(and he's actually right, I've seen spam comments like that one linking to the Burst website below many video comparisons)
Can you compare the 2 to the Burst ?
ModesTy I’ll be sure to message them! Happy holidays!
he's totally brushing wrong tho. he doesnt have to move his hand like normal brushing, but just applying pressure on each tooth!
Great video.👍
Electric Teeth thanks so much you have such an awesome channel
The sonicare is very good!
I'll have to try this.. I use a pulse
LA_KooLJ Gaming definitely need to do a review video for the pulse
I just that it target for like 40$ and initially was just like 80$ at heb
LOL - Buy your own... That was good... for us. A lot of doctors will simply tell the patient to buy the most expensive one. But then you mention they are too expensive even for you (very good). Now there is a reality check. But I was surprised that you, as a Dr, didn't get into which one cleaned better.? Hmm... that seems to be the most important part of buying a toothbrush.
It would have been a "bone head" response to only review the ones that sent you a free product... Hmm, would bias and ethics have anything to do with it.? Soo glad to see you still did a decent review of the two of them and that you went out to buy your own...
Thanks
Why does everyone start their video of what is up guys?
Sorry, but I would have to agree with Gabriel, you DO come across as biased towards Oral B!
Music?
Imma find out for you by tomorrow!
Good stuff. I use oral B too ;)
jhnnyhynh i wouldn’t expect anything less from the best
This is joe by the way hehe
your head is a cool shape
Whats with this music?????
Bhai ma to neem ka datun karta hu....
So which one is better?
I didn't specifically say in the video because both are awesome tools for your oral hygiene. I wanted to present all the facts & let you make the decision! Appreciate the comment!
you're a dentist that makes over $150,000 a year and you can't afford the top of the line oral b that's $130? you have the shittest autofocus camera....that shit can't even detect your face from the background? how do you put up crappy out of voice video like this? is that what you do for your patient too?
You can also examine this product in a very injured video. amzn.to/33rwzw8
Been using oral b for a while, got sonic one at christmas from work, used it twice and threw it in the bin, useless.
Do u have girlfriend?
They both absolute over priced garbage
Savage 😬
I've been using Sonicare for 15 years and they are great clean way better than manually ever could. Get a life bra
Just not true. Sonicare greatly improves gum health.
sellout
Pasha 92 sorry you feel that way!
Which one would you recommend for braces?
