a dentist made a video about the bacteria that can get under your gums and that a lot of toothbrushes can't get under the gums and get the bacteria out but burst can because at the starting point for the bristles, they're sturdy, and then when the bristles end- they're more thin and soft, also longer than the rest of the bristles below, so it can get the bacteria under the gums faster. i hope this helps for anyone wondering if they should get burst. and sorry if i don't make sense
Rick Buck's video shows that the Burst actually is the most effective at removing plaque, and it's by a fairly large margin. Not to mention they have an ADR rating of 86 meaning it won't cause too munch abrasion, something that can cause receding gums and other negative affects.
Another dentist on RUclips dyed his plaque red and used different toothbrushes to see which removed the most plaque. Burst won on his test but I’d like to see another test. Not having a pressure sensor sucks cuz I rely on that
I've had the burst for 2 years now and I just purchased the sonicare 6100 as Amazon had it 25% off. I found i had to brush for 4 minutes with the burst to get the same clean i get from sonicare in 2 minutes. I also did the glass of water test with burst and sonicare. Burst barely moved the water at all and sonciare caused a small tsunami lol! Never tried oral b...I like the vibration style not the oral b style. Maybe one day I'll try it
Yeah like the reviewer said , I think the smaller head is the way to go. Just bought oral B vitality. Though I've used a generic Equate one for a couple of years. Small head like oral B. Very good cleaning. Both have a lot of power.
Yeah I agree the particular brand is only one part of the answer to good results . Being vigilant and having a regular routine of flossing and brushing plus regular visits to dental clinic is at least just as important as choosing this or that toothbrush brand
For sure, in my professional opinion. As a dental hygienist for over 30 years. I definitely. Agree.that studies prove. Regular. Dental hygiene and dental hygiene visits. Will result in a healthier mouth and body.
I've owned all 3 before. Not top model for oral B and Sonic but around 100 dollar range ones. Now I am using Burst. Base on built, I would say Burst is better built. Phillips I've used for 5 years and always buy a new system because the toothbrush no longer charge, or the head has become loose and vibration no longer work. I used oral B before and the built is the same as sonic care and it cleans better, but it do take longer to clean. After a year of use it died. No longer charge. With Burst, it has been about a year, it still charge, has not died, very well built. Vibration not as strong Sonicare but the brush head is way better than both the other one. I will stick to Burst for now due to better built and I really like the brush head. The brush head tip has not lost it's vibration yet.
I liked the Burst I had but I could tell the lack of power made my teeth not feel as clean overall. I personally have a Sonicare 4100 and a Oral B 1000 Pro, both fairly cheap priced at under $50, and I feel they are much better at cleaning my teeth than the Burst. I personally do not care about all of those expensive options as long as they clean my teeth great. It is all about personal preference though when it comes to what tooth brush you love and works well for you! Glad you love the Burst!
All will clean the teeth really well. They have all proven to be effective in cleaning the teeth. There is ultimately little to choose between them. There is no study that compares all 3 side by side.
I see your thinking, but not really. Everyone has different needs and wants of a toothbrush. Yes clean is obviously important but for many there are other factors to consider.
My old Oral-B doesn't have a timer and you motivated me to actually time myself and I take 3 and 1/2 minutes to brush, partly because I have one Wisdom tooth that is hard to get to. Is it bad that I am brushing for a bit longer? I don't feel like I can get my teeth cleaned in a shorter time. I could very easily go a full four minutes. I am using a soft brush head that is an older variation, I still have a ton of them. It has just a darker blue Single ring of brushes around the outside and then light blue in the center if you know that one. And I also agree about the circular brush head . I have another electric toothbrush and it is a different shape and it's harder to get my mouth cleaned.
It is not necessarily bad to be brushing for a bit longer. 2 minutes is the ideal minimum to remove the majority of the plaque and bacteria. A little longer will help get them a bit cleaner. But the results for the extra time as less generally speaking. 3 and a half minutes is potentially getting towards being too long, but it isn't a massive issue. It sounds like you are doing a good job.
@@ElectricTeeth Okay, thank you for your reply. The only problem I notice is when I brush the area where I have a crown with a bad margin. It has to be redone and when I use the electric toothbrush over that area it actually tears up my gum over that tooth. I'll aim for 3 minutes max on the brushing.
But, which one cleans the best?? I really want to say that this is the BEST electric toothbrush review/comparison, because it’s so thorough, but there’s only one slight mention of Oral B cleaning better than the others. I would have liked to have seen a comparison of which one is the most effective at cleaning. That’s the MAIN reason why I was looking for a comparison video.
Paige. Thanks for the comment and explanation of why you were watching this comparison. The reality is that most electric toothbrushes clean the teeth really well and it is very difficult to say one is definitively better than the other. As far as I am aware Burst has not undergone many clinical tests/trials and not up against Oral-B and Sonicare. The most recent independent review of the clinical data available said that Oral-B is considered to be the best for overall cleaning. However, they acknowledged more research was required and this did not include Burst. More positive impact is actually gained from perfecting the brushing technique, time and frequency than picking between the cleaning action of these brushes. So in short, go for the one you feel most drawn to and focus on your brushing routine as the differences would be minor and very difficult to monitor due to so many variables. I hope this helps.
Rick Buck did a plaque tab test video with the three brushes. The Burst performed the best, followed by Oral B Pro 9000(?), with the Sonicare Diamond removing the least amount of plaque.
I would have to give the title of best to the burst sonic toothbrush, I’ve been using mine for about a month and noticed just amazing results with the amount of plaque on my teeth, my smile is brighter and i just have a overall better feeling in my mouth! See the reviews on it rb.gy/ug9zpw
I would say Oral-B, based on the data available. But, and this is a big but. The data is limited and what matters more is actually using the brush regularly and correctly. You can have the best performing brush but if you don't use it right then it doens't make much difference. Both of these clean the teeth well and will remove more plaque and bacteria than a manual brush.
Oral B has a common problem: the round head easily gets loose. While you can hear the motor sound, the round brush head is not turning. Don't know why none of the Review videos has mentioned this problem. May be the reviewers are just doing superficial testing and not a real user. I have use Oral B for years.
I have not ever experienced this issue personally. I don't doubt that it does exist as a problem that can occur. However only on a couple of occasions have I had anyone comment or suggest this be a problem they have experienced over the 5+ years Electric Teeth has existed and the thousands of comments and emails we have received.

I really wish I could afford to get a brush from all 3 lines and maybe even other and do a review as an autistic person, like what gives a good clean but doesn't bother my autism personally if that makes sense 😂😅!
When you compare brush strokes per minute the Burst nearly comes out on top and you have to get the top of the range models for Phillips and Oral B to get as many or more brush strokes per minute as the Burst. Do they offer Burst in the UK (assuming you're in the UK)
The number of brush strokes/movements on Sonicare brush are consistent across their range at 31,000 movements/62,000 strokes. The top of the line models do not have more movements. Brust isn't yet sold in the UK where we are located.
That is correct. It is not sold in the UK yet. It is available in the US and Canada. One of the founders is from there. And. I am. Thinking it will be at some point. If you. They could always ship it to you.
They're kinda similar, but the Oclean W10 has more better modes and more tips. Both travel friendly though, and I think you can only get one free tip if you purchase the Burst and with Oclean you get 4. Also both have really great amazing battery life.
You compared an entry level Sonicare toothbrush to a higher end oral b.. don’t really understand that. Shouldn’t you have brought the flagships out from all 3 brands? Think that would be more fair...
I'm sorry you feel this comparison was not fair. I take your feedback seriously and will consider how I can improve future content. As I explain at the start of the video, because Burst only offer 1 brush, aligning theirs directly with the many options that Oral-B or Sonicare offer, is more difficult. I could have compared the flagships of Sonicare and Oral-B to Burst, or I could have compared just the entry level brushes. Ultimately, the opinion will be based on where you stand and what you need or want from your toothbrush. However, I tried to give an overall comparison, taking into account all ends of the scale. The brushes in the video were for demonstration purposes only. They were not strictly the brushes I used as basis for the comparison.
Electric teeth thanks for the clarification! I find your videos extremely informative and helpful! You are helping way more people then you know and actually make oral hygiene fun instead of a chore!
i had the philips sonicare toothbrush and i liked it but one drawback is the material on the power button coz it's made of rubber which didn't last longer than 2 years. so, i don't like the overall material used by philips based on the price of the toothbrush.
i don't know if you can answer this but here goes - we all know that the actual manufacturers of this particular brand of this or that thing be it motor oil , elctronics or whatever etc . Seems it's probably true of different brands of toothbrushes . These actual, manufacturers are contracted by this store chain or toothbrush companies for example to supply them with these things . The toothbrushes from Walgreens ( generic brand ) looks the same as say Walmart ones ( Equate ) . Are they ? And what about actual manufacturers of Oral B and Phillips ?
Hi Frank. I can't comment too much on this as I don't have much insight into the manufacturing/supply chain side. As far as I am aware, major brands like Braun Oral-B, Philips Sonicare and Colgate Palmolive all design and manufacture their own brushes, and don't make them for or on behalf of anyone else. They might offer a model/package specific to a particular company. For example the Oral-B XYZ is only available in Walgreens for example. I do know that there are toothbrush factories/manufacturers who design and build their own models and sell them under multiple brands or allow other companies to buy and rebrand them as their own. So whilst I can't say for sure on the specific models you mention (I haven't handled these) principally, yes they could be the same, just with different coloured handles, names or box contents for example.
Sonicare is definitely no longer innovative. It used to be but it's now about cost cutting and adding gimmicky features that most people don't care about. The current generation of its sonic drive design was lifted off Oral-B's. Most people just don't know about... Oral-B came up with a very cost effective sonic design but decided to pull it from the market. When the relevant patents expired, Sonicare use those design ideas to produce the current generation of the new brush head. This is also the reason why the market is flooded with competent Chinese copycat brands of sonic toothbrush.
I talk about the brushing technology (2:36), how they clean the teeth, does this not answer this? If you have a specific question, let me know. More than happy to answer. Oral-B has the best cleaning action.
Not trying to be a dickhead. Just saying you didn't actually put them to the test. You just stated what some study said and gave your opinion. Studies can be bought and paid for, live demonstrations speak more. So as for my question.... Will you do performance demonstrations with them?
Every brush I talk about I personally test. So, before putting this video together I have undertaken several weeks of real world usage to come to the conclusions I do. There are separate review videos on the channel
Electric Teeth you didn't really explain why you feel oral b cleans better besides stating clinically proven round brush over oval not oscillating vs Sonic which would be the main difference between oral b and sonicate/burst
Prefer Oral-B as the brushing sensation gives a feeling of a better clean during and after use. It feels like it's working harder and then after brushing the mouth and teeth feel that bit cleaner. Psychological it may well be, but that's my view.
I have used BURST for almost 3 yrs. It’s has the best tapered feathered Bristle. It has now been clinically proven to remove Up to 10 x more plaque than a manual toothbrush. Oh and lifetime warranty 🎤 drop. And you get about $30 off with a dental pros promo code.

my head stops turning now once I place it on my teeth smh thinking of getting the burst but I don't know.
I have had this problem and it drives me crazy!
I really wish I could afford to get a brush from all 3 lines and maybe even other and do a review as an autistic person, like what gives a good clean but doesn't bother my autism personally if that makes sense 😂😅!
Where was this review when I needed it? I have the Burst! Can you do the water floss comparison? I already have that in Burst as well.
We have just published a review of the Burst water flosser. Spoiler alert, we like it a lot. What do you want it compared to?
@@ElectricTeeth Any other that claims it's good.
That's most then. To be fair Burst is definitely comparable to the best out there. 👍
@@ElectricTeeth Wow I guess I got something right! I 😁
When you compare brush strokes per minute the Burst nearly comes out on top and you have to get the top of the range models for Phillips and Oral B to get as many or more brush strokes per minute as the Burst.
Just wondering if you could compare both burst and oclean W10. Just wanna know which would be better.
They're kinda similar, but the Oclean W10 has more better modes and more tips. Both travel friendly though, and I think you can only get one free tip if you purchase the Burst and with Oclean you get 4. Also both have really great amazing battery life.
@@Emma-rb6gy guess I'll look into the Oclean W10, hope it's good.
You compared an entry level Sonicare toothbrush to a higher end oral b.. don’t really understand that. Shouldn’t you have brought the flagships out from all 3 brands? Think that would be more fair...
Comparing a $69 Sonicare to a $180 retail oral b brush...
It does not matter Oral B will be always superior.
Kidco To be fair...Sonicare are really coming on at the moment, but they do come at a premium price point :)
I'd buy the Burst just for it's slick design!
Which has the softest brush heads?
There is no way to say for sure that I know of. I would say Oral-B just, with Burst and Sonicare following, if I have to make a judgement.
i had the philips sonicare toothbrush and i liked it but one drawback is the material on the power button coz it's made of rubber which didn't last longer than 2 years. so, i don't like the overall material used by philips based on the price of the toothbrush.
i don't know if you can answer this but here goes - we all know that the actual manufacturers of this particular brand of this or that thing be it motor oil , elctronics or whatever etc .
Sonicare looks like any normal toothbrush
Sonic toothbrush are basically manual toothbrush that pulsate and sweep.
Is there any promo code???
Sonicare is definitely no longer innovative. It used to be but it's now about cost cutting and adding gimmicky features that most people don't care about. The current generation of its sonic drive design was lifted off Oral-B's. Most people just don't know about... Oral-B came up with a very cost effective sonic design but decided to pull it from the market. When the relevant patents expired, Sonicare use those design ideas to produce the current generation of the new brush head. This is also the reason why the market is flooded with competent Chinese copycat brands of sonic toothbrush.
No performance review? Seems pointless.
Thank you I was looking at the burst . Howdy from ft worth
Based on what you pay to keep that warranty going you could just but a new brush.
Hi there. Did you ever get a burst?
Sonic care just start brush subscription
Yes they have. Good news.
Oral-b is the best one
You should not share a brush handle. 😉
Burst comes saturday
Burst battery life died after 2 years and I still have heads that I can't use. Going to try the Oral B
Were you subscribed or did you buy it outright without subscription?
@@ElectricTeeth I purchased directly from Burst but canceled prescription because I had too many heads.
Ahh that's annoying but I understand why. If subscribed lifetime warranty. 😔
Burst is a joke
Why? I just bought one. Its not bad.
I dont like products when they are made in CHINA
