Love the way you review ! First time viewer. You did a great job subjectively speaking on your experiences and explaining the differences. You spoke very clearly and the review was enjoyable
I have a Laifen, I've had it now for almost 2 months. I love it! I couldn't believe how powerful it was. She's right. You don't need to turn it all the way up lol, but that's a good thing. I've literally only used the one brush head, can't even remember what that was called but there's another one that's for your gums and the other I think is a softer brush. I'll be honest, I only bought this because it had great reviews for its price point and the replacement heads are a 3 pack for like $17...A 3 PACK. Most of the other brushes I have owned had replacement bushes that nearly rivaled the entire cost of the brush to begin with!
@@LanLan42-42 eek sorry to hear. The brush bristles themselves hurt or the backside of the brush hitting your other teeth like I talked about in the video?
I am 77yrs old. I've been using a Pursonic toothbrush for a good five years, which pauses for a second or so to indicate that one quarter of one's teeth are done and to go on to the next quarter, came with maybe 12 spare heads, and has to be plugged into an outlet for power. My hygienist recommended I use interdental brushes to manually address the corner areas that both flossing and brushing don't quite reach. I have just ordered the Laifen to see if it is an improvement to the Pursonic. My real reason for this comment is to ask you, a hygienist, 1) if interdental brushes do produce results that neither brushing nor flossing achieve; and 2) do aging people have any special needs to take into account when using a Laifen? Are my 77yr old gums more prone to damage, etc.? Thank you for your very thorough and helpful review! 🙂
....and, yes, the Laifen is a decided improvement on my well-used Pursonic. It is much quieter. It is much smaller and therefore more maneuverable in reaching areas the other was just too clunky to reach. It brushes in the oscillating manner I was taught to mimic when learning how to brush my teeth many years ago. And it doesn't have to be continually plugged into the wall, plus takes up a fraction of the space on my sink counter. I really really like it.
@@lldweisser854 hi! 1) interdental brushes could definitely do what brushing and flossing can’t do if you have more recession/exposed roots. 2) aging people don’t necessarily have special needs/restrictions. Some older patients of mine have had more resilient gums and better overall oral health than some of my younger patients! That being said, age could be a secondary contributing factor, for example you could have decreased dexterity because of arthritis that has progressed over the years, so that can contribute to how well you are able to brush. I don’t see the Laifen being a contraindication to your age, especially if you use that softer grey-bristled brush head I did in the demo! If you are unsure you can of course talk to your hygienist who could give you a better answer since he/she can actually see your mouth and know your full medical/dental history.
It’s helpful if you’re just starting out and don’t know what the right pressure feels like. I never really pay attention to the pressure sensor at this point.
We both have had a Laifen toothbrush for 5 months now. Both the dentist and the dental hygienist were not satisfied with the cleanliness of both the teeth of my wife and myself. Now I have an oral B io 7s. The oral B app helps and stimulates me to brush better and much longer!! As mentioned in this video both toothbrushes probably got the same brushing result. The difference is made by the brusher and not by the toothbrush itself. Oral B makes me a better brusher but the beauty of the stainless steel Laifen is much better.
I used a Sonicare for over 10 years, then last May switched to Oral-B Pro 1500 CrossAction. After watching your channel I bought the Sensitive Gum Care brush heads ($26 for 10 on eB*y 🙂- sealed, genuine Oral-B) and have been happy except for two things: the battery life (about 12 days) and how really LOUD it is! Hope it lasts a long while. Question: would you recommend an Oral-B Genius OR Smart toothbrush OR the Laifen if my Pro dies? Love your channel!
The only pro about laifen is its lower price and cheap replacement brushes. I am tempted to try laifen when ran out of my diamond heads. Ridiculous how $80 with new laifen is just
Can you recommend an ultrasonic toothbrush? The Sonicare only lasts a maximum of one year. I have interlocked incisors, so the simple rotary Oral-B didn't clean well and I had tartar. Sorry to ask, but your channel was by far the most trustworthy and competent thing I found on the net.
What Sonicare are you using specifically? One year sounds sad lol. There was a brand I liked that had thin bristles but I can’t find it now. I like the Oclean x-pro as well. They have different bristle options, I try to stick to thinner/softer bristles.
Can you please to a review on primal life toothpaste I see that it’s a toothpaste made with probiotics. I’m not sure of why adding probiotic specially microorganisms like lactobacillus.
Lactobacilli are good oral flora that support a healthy mouth. I’m assuming they add it to toothpaste to help support a healthy oral microbiome; however as with many probiotics, not sure how effective it is with this particular brand, I’ve never tried myself. Will have to check it out, thanks!
To me my iO 8 feels it cleans better than a non-electrical one. I find the round brush very convenient and I like the tech developed for this product line. I have neither used a Genius series, nor a Laifen. I understand there's not a _huge_ difference between toothbrush companies' products nowadays. It's also a subjective perspective, as with any product - the Oral-B makes me focus more on and take my toothbrushing more seriously - that should count for better hygiene overall!
It’s better, you never reach the steadiness of a electric, it’s also easier to use (yes). Just hold the angle and move the brush without brushing self.
I’ve used a manual toothbrush for majority of my life; even now I don’t always use an electric. A manual brush could do just as good of a job if you use it correctly. The problem is most people don’t, so an electric helps achieve a better clean. That being said, you can use an electric incorrectly and cause more damage than good. It all depends on how you use whatever brush you have :)
Honestly I didn’t even know about the series 2/3, but I’m not sure how that makes it an unfair comparison. If the series 2/3 offer less features, and I’m already saying the Laifen is quite comparable to the Oral-B iO series 9, I don’t imagine it would be not comparable to the “lesser” series 2 or 3. The brush head movement would still be the same on the other series, just less brushing modes and other stuff like no travel case or extra brush head replacements..
@@askahygienist my point was, people were commenting about taking the Laifen mostly because it was so much cheaper. So in that sense, they should be looking at similar cost Oral B models.
@ ohhhh i didn’t think of it that way. Hah well you’re absolutely right with the price comparison then. But then again in the end, if the cheaper Laifen is comparable to the super expensive oral-b iO, then it would be that much more comparable to the cheaper versions of iO as well. I mean I do see your point, if someone still wanted to go for the series 2 or 3, the price is more reasonable, as all the extra features of the series 9 are really extra in my opinion anyway. Thanks for the pointer!

Laifen makes brush heads with softer backs. It still vibrates but is more tolerable and gives you less buzz.
I did see that and I recently made a new video comparing it to Sonicare; I used the cushioned brush head and it definitely is more comfortable!
What do you think of the Suri toothbrush. It seems to clean incredibly well.

The light on oral b that tells you if you’re brushing too hard is incredible, it’s adding tech to a product in a way that improves our lives
I personally am interested in the oral b io3 just because of the increased cleaning effectiveness of an electric toothbrush (I currently use manual brush) less repetitive strain motion of hand when brushing, and pressure light alone
Maybe on the high end oral b options the ai brushing technique detection that shows up in the app is useful
But in my experience AI just means “an excuse in case it’s wrong”
