      Hey there, I'm prepping for a trip and it's 58-60 degrees F outside, I have a rather new pup/unit, do you or anyone else here know, does it take a particular temperature to turn on my AC compressor in my unit? I've read some can be damaged if it's not hot enough, so maybe a failsafe? I'm going to Florida soon, and just don't want to be caught without AC. Thanks!!

      @It's Poppin' - Pop Up Camping ok, I think the range at which the thermostat is set to is too hot. With the thermo knob all the way cool I think it cools to 60 or 65 ambient, so if it's cooler it doesn't have the need to cut on. I found this is adjustable on the lower unit though. It's supposed to get warmer tomorrow so I'll try it again and see if it's thay, hopefully the case and nothing else is wrong

    Just got a new (to me 2019 jayco sport) pop up camper, it doesn’t have AC but does have AC prep. I tried using a couple different portable AC’s in the pop up and neither worked to cool it down at all, do the actual roof mounted AC units make a difference and would it be worth the investment? I’m anticipating it will cost $1,500 for the unit and professional installation but sitting on the fence on if it will work if the portable units didn’t? The portable units I have vent the hot exhaust out of the window btw, I’ve used the same units in a tent and they did fantastic so I’m so confused why they wouldn’t work in this set up

    What is the safest, warmest way to heat my full time pop up camper without electricity? Buddy's are garbage. 1995 Starcraft, no unboard heater. I used a 1500 W column electric heater but it couldn't take me through the 20 degree Fahrenheit or less days.

    Your videos are great, thanks for making them! I think you have the best popup content on RUclips. My husband and I just got a 2004 popup camper. I’m really curious on how long you could run things off the battery if you don’t have access to shore power. I’m not sure if you have done a video dedicated to 100% boondocking in a popup?

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  3 года назад

      Thank you! And we do not have a boondocking video, mainly because we never do any boondocking. As far as how long you can run things on your battery, it just depends on what you're running and how big your battery is.

    I have the same exact AC unit! The reason you have 2 low fan settings is because you can add on an electric heat strip kit which comes with a new knob. Its plug and play and actually only takes a few minutes! The new knob has a Low Heat option in place of one of the Low fan settings. The heat strip is great for using when its cool out! i think they cost around $40-$50 for the kit! A whole lot cheaper to run than the propane unit!

    Hi, I installed a brand new battery for the 210 Coleman Pop up but its still not turning on the lights even. Not sure whether its charging after connecting with the vehicle or not. Please advice

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  2 года назад

      It could be a number of things. It may be a blown fuse, kill switch disconnect, bad converter, poor wire or ground connection, etc etc. You’ll have to troubleshoot it.
      Keep in mind a 7 pin connection between your tow vehicle and the pop up is required to charge the battery via the tow vehicle.

    I have a 1994 StarCraft small pop up camper and could you tell me or direct me in a video on what is going on with it. The thermostat has a separate on and off switch and when I turn it on the fan comes on on the heater but after 10 min the air is still cold coming out of the heater. The air coming out from the outside exhaust feels warmer than inside. This was tested when the temperature was 36 degrees and a light wind. The camper was just raised to test the heater. I’m new to this and don’t really know what to expect or check. Thank you so much for any advice.

    I owned a Jayco 1008 model pop-up.
    Couple questions:
    1. Can I turn on the heater using only propane or 2. Does it has to have the battery to turn on the pump power switch? So the heater could work?
    The last time we went out camping. I realized that the heater wasn't working and the pump switch doesn't work. I checked all the fuses. The only thing I could think of the battery was lowed. I didn't have anything to check the battery. Is that the reason?

    • @ItsPoppin
      @ItsPoppin  3 года назад

      1. Heater requires both propane and 12v power to run the heater fan. 2. By pump switch, do you mean the water pump switch? If so, no, this won't affect the heater at all.

    • @ItsPoppin

      Sounds like you have all of the basic prerequisites, so I'm guessing something is wrong with the furnace itself. Google Atwood furnace troubleshooting, and the first result is a handy PDF with a troubleshooting guide. Sounds like your problem is the "fan runs but no heat." It could be a number of issues, unfortunately.
