Johnny Vegas is a regular guest, usually causing chaos, in 2016 he accompanied the other three to Rio, and ended up being adopted by the British Paralympic team as a mascot.... he ended up being a line judge at table tennis....

The Last Leg is a chat show, made initially for the 2012 London Paralympics, but was so popular it’s been running ever since…Adam Hills, the host, is an Aussie stand up, Josh Widdicombe, shaggy haired one, is English stand up, and Alex Brooker is an English presenter/journalist…Johnny Vegas is just a fucking lunatic, a truly brilliant comedian, who used to be known for his heavy drinking, and often appeared when pissed…
@@Lochayetheview I think he's only missing his foot and maybe the lower part of his leg, Alex Brooker has only one leg and deformed hands and arms, Josh Widdacombe has ginger hair. The series was for the 2012 Paralympics and was so successful they continued with regular shows.
What I love most about this is how it's a masterclass in hitting the audience at the right time. Just as the wave of laughter begins to slow he hits them again and it builds each time without being too much. It's perfect timing which can only come from years of experience.
Not just that but he actually let it die. Then Adam laughed again and Jonny knew instantly he could revive the whole thing and keep the laughs coming again.
That's a part of comedy that people often miss, writing the pauses into a routine is a skill. Harry Hill said the first time he performed he was still in his early teens. He told the first joke and people laughed, but that threw him because his mind was running through the next joke. Then he was already into the third joke (in his head) while trying to tell the second one... He'd just learnt it all like lines and hadn't factored in pauses and started to panic then couldn't remember anything. It gives me more respect for when comedians deliberately write in a pause for no laughs, like a joke that was meant to fail in the moment but it's retold/reworked later and makes perfect sense. Or a premise that's designed to make everyone feel awkward or embarrassed for the comedian. You have to be certain of where you're heading and how well it will turn out to kind of ruin it for yourself in the moment.
This clip was broadcast live as a trailer for "the last leg" tv show. It went out LIVE about half an hour before the show and was only supposed to be about 30 seconds long but Channel 4 just went with the flow, ran it in place of two scheduled ads and it was unscripted......Johnny Vegas at his best.
@@aking-plums6985 ..Agreed. He was good in Ideal & that was great because Johnny Vegas also wrote and produced the whole series by himself.. ....Legend
Johnny Vegas comes from my home town, St.Helens; a town between Liverpool and Manchester but closer (next door) to Liverpool. Notice no Scouse accent. His earlier career was him just constantly drinking, fighting an alter ego and hugely entertaining. He is super down to earth, still lives in St.Helens, gives autographs and one of his brothers taught my children at school (his brother is a teacher not a pervert, I think!) He is one of those comedians who can think on his feet, and doesn't need any rehearsal. It's funnier for me because I know Taylor park and other places he mentions when on stage such as the Smithy Manor and Springy (Springfields). He's calmed down a lot now he is a father, but hugely funny. I love this guy. He is hugely funny, and has been on many TV programmes such as 8 out of 10 cats. Wow. I can breath now!
Johnny is the king of self-deprecating comedy. He was a alcoholic, and while surreal, some of his stuff was mind-blowing anarchy. He once led his entire theatre audience on a conga around the streets and back. I love him dearly.
Johnny Vegas is a treasure. Absolute treasure. Last Leg is a comedy panel/current affairs show featuring a host who doesn't have a leg. In this they're trying to do the intros to "The Last Leg".

Johnny Vegas made an appearance at a convention I went to last year. He stuck around all night, way after his Q&A had finished, and was owning the kareoke at 12:30am. Hilarious. Pics and pints aplenty in the hotel bar with fans into the wee hours. Great guy.
So while filming this promo and waiting around, all someone said was 'this is like waiting for a police interview'.. and Johnny being Johnny he went off on this crazy ad-libbed confessional tangent as if the police had finally broken him down and he was now telling all his secrets
The Last Leg goes out 'live' on Channel 4 .... it started during the 2012 Paralympics as a show highlighting disabled sport and it's gradually become an all round comedy/chat show
Probably the best 5 minute impromptu I have ever watched, so glad you enjoyed our offbeat Brit humour. Jonny Vegas can tap into our darker thoughts and make us laugh; he destroyed the other three on that panel as you can see them imagining the visual to what he had just said. Please do watch the Jonny Vegas poem on 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown; absolute genius and a great indication of his other thoughts.
They were trying to do a promo for the last leg. Johnny was a guest and often goes off on hilarious tangents. Very similar to Robin Williams, he is one of the best loved comedians by his peers. One of the nicest guys in showbiz, he has had a lot of issues but has come back strong. The last leg was brought out during the paralympics in London to have an irreverent look at disabled athletes. Both Alex, beside Johnny in the clip and the host, Adam Hills, are disabled. The show was so good, it has continued since the Olympics on channel 4
Absolutely love Johnny Vegas as he comes out with most random things in his rants. First time I saw that I was crying myself silly with laughter. He's a legend.
The last leg started as a show about the paralympic games but developed into a whole different thing (the host was born without a foot and Alex Brooker had a leg amputated when he was a baby)
Johnny Vegas also played a small-time cannabis dealer named 'Moz'. in a British TV, 'dark humoured' sitcom called 'Ideal' - He plays a local drugs dealer (I deal !) working from his council estate flat; and all about the various customers, 'mates' and competitors that come and go, plus some hilarious problems, issues and funny situations that happened. 53 episodes of pure genius - especially if you know any 'wacky backy' dealers... Well worth watching and going down that rabbit hole - LOL !
He taught me the right way to make a good hotdog out of leftover sausages. I forgot, but that is indeed a brief conversation we had at one point a few years ago.
This is one of the funniest clips I have ever seen, I'm actually smiling away to myself before it starts cause I know how much I'm going to laugh without fail.
I respectfully disagree: he has changed; he's subdued a lot over the years and a good thing too in my opinion - he was headed for an early grave (the things he did on 18 stone of idiot and in standup was often absolutely mental) and I, for one, don't want him to die for our entertainment. His interview in RHLSTP is well worth watching. It's hilarious and fascinating. He talks about Johnny as an alter ego that would be out of control in the past.
There's a British series called Taskmaster, now in its 13th series, most in the British comedians you like have appeared across the differing series, including Johnny in series 10.
SOOO glad you lads reacted to this absolutely classic clip of the Legendary Johnny Vegas 👌💜 Funny story, I showed this to my dad ages ago,he now often sticks it on once a week jus to give himself a laugh 🤷♂️👌😂😂😂
I always remember the stand up show Johnny Vegas did from his home town of St Helens and there was a member of the audience from Wigan who somehow found himself kidnapped and dragged onto the stage and tied up while Johnny and a couple of other members of the audience basically just took the piss out of him! St Helens and Wigan are huge rivals in rugby league and Johnny is literally a huge fan of St Helens! Once again, another great reaction video from you guys and love that you get our British sense of humour, even if half of us don't get it sometimes!
Here in Britain we do have great stand ups but sometimes they just come out with classic one liners when on these panel shows that just floors you, it's just that feeling of hearing something new and all the comedian's playing off each other you experience something never seen before and it's just gold.
Johnny Vegas is a stand-up comedian, but he also spent some time as a guest on the Vic and Bob celebrity quiz show Shooting Stars and THAT is a show you guys should watch
Great reaction, so glad you got it. His comedy timing and absolute randomness is next level. Been lucky enough to end up on a night out drinking with him (he's from my home town), he's exactly the same.
This show evolved out of the 2012 London Paralympics. Firstly, it was a programme that reviewed each day's sporting action from the event, interviewing competitors informally etc (The Last Leg of a relay race). As it worked so well, the channel asked them to continue the programme in prime-time, now on Fridays at 22:00. The Last Leg is also an oblique reference to the presenter, Adam Hills (a stand-up comedian from Australia), and regular guest Alex Brooker (pink shirt) both being wearers of prosthetic legs, as neither of them have their right foot. Alex was also born with hand differences. The third member of the lineup is a comedian called Josh Widdicombe. He does not have any physical disability, but he once joked that he had now joined 'Team Disabled' by dint of him needing glasses. The show regularly takes swipes at people in the news, and has weekly celebrity guests. Disability takes a prominent part in the show too. One of the more bizarre moments was Adam seeing Josh set fire to one of his artificial feet, as you can see in 'Burning Adam Hills' Prosthetic Foot'. It's a great show. The clip you saw was a compilation of bloopers which took the loose theme of confessions to police detectives.
The last leg is just a political propaganda show full of bias and bigotry towards people they disagree with. Its horrible. Propagandists playing comedian
JV is a comedian, not sure if still does stand-up, but has been on 8 out of 10 CDC, and also was the face of PG Tips (a tea brand) some years ago (along with Monkey), he acts and has presented at the Paralympics for the LL. This show is called the LL as Adam Hills (Aussie presenter & comedian) has a false leg, as does Alex Brooker. Josh Widdicombe is also a comedian. LL is a live show on C4 on Friday evenings & they have guests, & discuss current events etc. Hope that helps with some context!😀
A few years ago, Johnny was doing a show in my home city, Nottingham, England. Went to a local burger bar for a bite to eat. (Annie's burger shack) and had the place in hysterics. There is now a Johnny Vagas burger on the menu. He is an absolute genius
Im from St Helens where Johnny is from he is a treasure to us up north, guys a legend :) he is great on 8 out of 10 also guys. keep up the good work :)
Johnny is amazing. Real name is Micheal. Johnny is his ‘alter ego’ - initially subconsciously created as something of a protective wall around his real self (Johnny would say and do the things that Micheal couldn’t), that he went on to develop into a character for stand up. He is an incredible man in reality-very intelligent and artistic (pottery and paintings mostly). He led a hard life and suffered abuse while young. His autobiography is an incredible and moving read (even better in audio format as he reads it himself). Such a funny man. And very kind-in Covid lockdown he worked none stop in his local community helping deliver shopping/medication etc to vulnerable people.
I met him once, at a literary festival where he was doing a book signing. I was actually in a different queue, waiting for Brian May to sign a book but skipped queues to meet Johnny because I am a huge fan. He had been in a very popular (British) sitcom based in Spain, called Benidorm but had left a few seasons earlier. He was one of the kindest, sweetest, most gracious men I have ever met as he took time for everyone, chatting away and the queue was hardly going down. I said ‘Johnny, I really miss you in Benidorm’ and he replied, excitedly, ‘I’m back in it now’ (you have to imagine the accent). The series hadn’t been on our TVs at that time but he is such a joy. Please make sure to take a look at some of his early clips in Benidorm and you’ll see what I mean.

Johnny vegas comes with no context ! That’s his art, he turns up, de-rails everything and keeps a straight face the whole time. He’s an absolute genius in his own right
As I live in the same town as Johnny, I always remember meeting him in the pub before rugby (as he's a huge St Helens rugby fan) Me and my mates were just casually playing pool. He came over and started talking to us and bought us all drinks and started telling loads of drinks. Such a quality day
I have watched this four or five time now with you and I laugh more every time. I am an Aussie and unfamiliar with this comedic genius and like you, I will be researching further! 😂😂

He and Bob Mortimer should have a statue !!!
Jonny was destined to become a Priest at one time, he’s also a pretty decent potter! Very funny man
And he's quite good at drawing too.
He taught me the right way to make a good hotdog out of leftover sausages.
I forgot, but that is indeed a brief conversation we had at one point a few years ago.
To play this ,you guys are what RUclips is all about . you're fantastic . please keep it going 👍👍💎💎🔥🔥🇬🇧🇬🇧
You guys are my 2 favourite reactors. Always cheers me up. Keep it up.
Jonny Vegas doesn't give a f*ck he's hilarious I love him 🤣
Anothet rabbit hole of rib laughing comedy! One of the best British comedians ever to grace the screen and stage.
This is one of the funniest clips I have ever seen, I'm actually smiling away to myself before it starts cause I know how much I'm going to laugh without fail.
It's about time you guys reacted to this video. Johnny Vegas is hilarious. You really should explore more of his comedy.
I've watched you watch this 3 times...I've lost track of how many times I've cried laughing at it over the years x
Johnny has been on UK TV since the mid 90s and he’s never changed! Classic Johnny
He was awesome in Ideal.
There's a British series called Taskmaster, now in its 13th series, most in the British comedians you like have appeared across the differing series, including Johnny in series 10.
Josh was on the first series and was left forever branded...
Been waiting for your reaction to this awesomeness
Your reaction was just like mine the very first time I watched this clip. Love Johnny Vegas when he's spontaneous like this.
Ive watched this so many times.. I love Alex's laugh 😂
He is brilliant, he is a guest on 8 out of 10 cats quite often.
Guy's strap yourselves in and get ready to descend into another rabbit hole of British humour with Johnny Vegas. Can't wait to go with you.
Do they really know what they’re letting themselves in for?
@@mickdavis8521 PMSL ! I hope not !
This is one of my favorite Jonny Vegas bits. He just has Alex paralyzed. 🤣🤣🤣
He has done a lot of comedy for us in UK we love him
SOOO glad you lads reacted to this absolutely classic clip of the Legendary Johnny Vegas 👌💜
Funny story, I showed this to my dad ages ago,he now often sticks it on once a week jus to give himself a laugh 🤷♂️👌😂😂😂
Best comedy I sometimes find is when it is random & spare of the moment, Johnny Vegas is a master at this
This clip from The Last Leg is one that I always come back to.
It always has me in hysterics, no matter what
The rollercoaster ride that is Johny Vegas. He takes comedy on a magical mystery tour. He puts the F IN FUNNY. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Love Mr Mortimer, he’s pretty random as well!
It wasn’t a compilation of bloopers, it was just Johnny Vegas disrupting the start of the show, all one clip…
The last leg is just a political propaganda show full of bias and bigotry towards people they disagree with. Its horrible.
Propagandists playing comedian
"I used to piss in the bath, and pretend I was James Bond and it was acid." christ lmao I lost it at that
JV is a comedian, not sure if still does stand-up, but has been on 8 out of 10 CDC, and also was the face of PG Tips (a tea brand) some years ago (along with Monkey), he acts and has presented at the Paralympics for the LL.
Love this , Jonny Vegas off the wall as always but this one could be a nervous breakdown. Classic.
Fkn legend 😁haven't a clue how many time I watched that clip. It always gets me😁
OMG Guys! I'd forgotten about this!!! It's one of the funniest things ever in comedy....! This is a pre-emptive like to your reactions so I'm fastening my seatbelt for this...!!!
I was actually at the broadcast of this show (it's broadcast live), and after airing they record promos for the next week's episode like ("join us next week" "join us tomorrow" "join us tonight" etc) but Johnny just kept interrupting with random stuff like this and we ended up there for an extra 30-40 mins making me miss my train home
Johnny vegas comes with no context ! That’s his art, he turns up, de-rails everything and keeps a straight face the whole time.
He’s an absolute genius in his own right
That sums him up so well. Thank you
He was in a comedy sitcom called Ideal
Comedy chaos by Johnny Vegas… There you go!! 😂😂😂
As I live in the same town as Johnny, I always remember meeting him in the pub before rugby (as he's a huge St Helens rugby fan)
Me and my mates were just casually playing pool. He came over and started talking to us and bought us all drinks and started telling loads of drinks. Such a quality day
I have watched this four or five time now with you and I laugh more every time. I am an Aussie and unfamiliar with this comedic genius and like you, I will be researching further! 😂😂
