- Germany will temporarily implement stricter controls at all its land borders to reduce irregular migration and enhance security, Berlin announced on Monday.
German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced in a press conference on Monday that the new controls will be in place for six months.
International border control expert Henry Bolton joins Talk’s Russell Quirk to discuss this further.

So nothing is illegal anymore! It's irregular! You can rename anything to gloss over it but people are wise enough to see through it. Facts do matter!

European countries should put aside the European Parliament and commision and start protecting the borders. When EU countries start to do it, it will become the norm. You can still have a passport/id control at the borders and make the European passport and resident card holders move freely.
Germany are able to control their borders without leaving EU
Notice our borders became far more fragile after leaving the EU. Open borders is a political decision by our unelected civil service masters, inflicted on poorer areas as punishment for voting brexit.
The EU will always turn a blind eye if it’s France or Germany. Not so much Poland or Hungary though.

There is no EU strategy on migrants apart from a more equal way of distributing them across Europe.

Is there a way to be a little less dramatic? We are not talking about visa applications or a temporal or regional limitation of the freedom of movement of EU citizens, but simply that in a border region now and then and every time you cross a border (anything else than "always" makes no sense. Only random checks controls are just empty words from politicians),
that is, you always have to briefly show your ID card when crossing the border.
If you can identify yourself and you belong to the EU, you can continue your journey.
The countries have benefited from no controls at the EU's internal borders because border guards could save tens of thousands of police officers and personnel costs were massively reduced. Apart from these countries, the only people who benefit from no border controls are criminals, gangsters, illegal immigrants and people on the run.

This wont affect European residents. Show ID and carry on. So its nothing to do with the Schengen Area collapsing. Its to do with internal policing 🎉🎉🎉
Part of if not a big part of the problem is ....some countries (who i admire) Greece , italy, france, etc etc funnel through migrants...thus we get them....but lets be honest they are everywhere. I have a friend in Denmark who when i was with 30/40 years ago discussing this issue....was supportive. Thing is he and i think the people did not realise they would be overwhelmed.........so move in to now.... Denmark is pushing back.
