I'm so glad that God chose me for salvation! How blessed I am! I appreciate your lessons so much. Praying for traveling mercies for you and your wife! 🙏❣️✝️
Praise God, I'm listening today, it's really cold here in FL. We got a lot of snow yesterday afternoon and last night. But we are fine. And we are glad to hear the words of God. Amen,
Good lesson. I thank God for these classes and thank you for your time and much studying. We did not get but a dusting of snow in our county, it blew away almost immediately, it’s really been cold all week.
Amen, Amen, Preacher. Oh how I remember the night He called me. I believe it was the last time He was going to "call me" it was as if He was saying now or never. Thanks be unto God for the call !!!! I Thank our God for you Preacher and the teaching and preaching of The Word of God. Love you brother 💐
God knew in advance that I would be saved because he is omnipotent. The Holy Ghost convicted me, drew me and I believed the truth , the gospel. Praise God, Jesus is my Saviour and I belong to Him forever.
AMEN. If we are children of faith to the one and only living God we are a peculiar people indeed. Not of the world, but in the world. We are separate and set apart for the Master to use. Just accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour and submit to his perfect will. Ask him to teach you to pray and teach you how to live. Look to Lord Jesus if you want to know how to live a perfect life. Take his yoke upon you and learn of him. For he is meek and lowly at heart and ye shall find rest unto your soul. Lord Jesus please instruct and teach us in way which we should go, and guide us with your eyes in Jesus name Amen!
Watched and enjoyed. Great class! Thank you so much for this clear, biblically based teaching on the doctrine of election. This needs to be taught more in our churches nowadays. Amen, Bro. Mike.
Great study, Dr. Bagwell! See Isa. 46:9-10. God declares the end from the beginning and from ancient times the things not done. His counsel will stand, and He will do all His pleasure. If Paul is bound to give thanks for his Christian friends, we are also bound to give thanks for the wonderful people God has placed in our lives. "Bound"/ὀφείλω/opheilō/to owe someone something, to be obligated. Paul consistently bursts into thanksgiving for these Christians in Thessalonica. "Alway" means at all times or at all the "when's". "Thanks"/εὐχαριστέω/eucharisteō/good grace. See 2 Thess. 1:3. Paul gives thanks and then he picks up where he left off in 2:13. What happens between these verses? A problem has arisen. Someone had written a letter and signed Paul's name to it falsely. This letter claimed the rapture had already taken place. Paul had to correct this by stating the rapture takes place first and then the man of perdition will be revealed. This is good pastoral leadership. He deals with the needs of his people. "Beloved"/ἀγαπάω/agapaō. God loves you through thick and thin. God knows the end from the beginning. Paul is practicing what he preached back in 1 Thess. 5:18. In everything give thanks. Being thankful is a lifestyle for the believer. "Chosen"/αἱρέομαι/aihreomai/to take for oneself. In eternity past, God chose us to salvation. This does not mean God predetermined who goes to heaven and hell. "You"/ὑμᾶς/humas/you as a group. God has chosen you to be in His church. This is the doctrine of election. We believe in corporal election. God elected a body in the Old Testament (Israel) to be HIs people. In the New Testament, God elected a group of believers as the church. "Whosoever will" can be born again. Jesus died for all. At the time you are saved you become a part of the body of Christ. See 1 Peter. 2:9. God says we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people. God is omniscient. There is nothing God does not know. However, God's foreknowledge (knowing in advance) does not make it a foreordination. See Acts 18:10. God knows but He does not determine in advance. "To"/εἰς/eis/into. God chose us into salvation. "Sanctification"/ἁγιασμός/hagiasmos/is the word for "holy". The Holy Ghost was involved in our salvation. Belief is essential. You will die and go to hell if you don't. In the previous lesson, the wicked believe the lie and now God's children believe the truth (John 14:6). God has elected or chosen the church as He did Israel. "Called"/καλέω/kaleō/to summon, to invite. Do you remember when the Holy Ghost showed up and summoned you? He drew you or called you by the Gospel. This is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Spirit and the bride say come. Whosoever can be called. "Obtaining" (Eph. 1:14) means "purchased possession". We belong to Him because He bought us with His shed blood. God's glory is the sum total of all the beautiful attributes of the Lord Jesus Christ. There are mysteries involved in our salvation that we do not understand. But there are also some certainties about our salvation as well. What begins in grace always leads to glory. Phenomenal study today, Dr. Bagwell! Thank you so much for these studies! They are awesome!
AMEN
