- My review of the Mega Construx Halo set FVK37 - UNSC Infinity.
I've added two custom built Strident-Class Heavy Frigates and one Covenant Cruiser.
The set was originally planned to come with 4 Frigates and 1 Enemy Cruiser but this never happened for reasons unknown to me.
Let me know your thoughts...

When you opened the box and I say the big picture of the recreation of the scene with Chief seeing the infinity from the game, it have me goose bumps. Thank you for reviewing.

2:00 I like to imagine this part as something out from the cancelled Halo Mega Bloks/Construx game, being honest here.
I’m glad I bought three of these! One is actually fully built and is on display in my Halo Room while the other two are factory sealed in their original outer shipping carton. I display the box for the Infinity that is built in a separate display case as the box is so damn big. My son’s college mates always say to me “damn, you have three of these? They’re selling for like $1,000.00 on Amazon right now because they don’t make them anymore!.”
I reluctantly bought 2 as to be honest I wasn’t taken by the concept, box art or previews of the finished result. I almost only got 1 but didn’t want to regret not having one sealed.
I paid $80.00 each and wasn’t particularly confident it was a wise investment as they were available on Amazon at a heavily reduced price for ages so figured they would never be worth anything. Oh how wrong I was, as you say, $1000 a pop, funny how things work out. Lucky you having 3 😄

I do, If they produced one with their currently available parts inventory it could potentially be amazing. It seems inevitable that if Mega do continue to build signature series sets (Big if) they will produce at least one of the many famed covenant cruisers/carriers. It's a no brainer in my mind.

Jesus Christ this set is a monster. It took me 3.5 days to build this on my own. Now it stands on my dresser in my room and I look at it and I gotta day it looks badass af. (After building it, my fingers hurt a lot lmao)
Chicken Fingers took me 12 hours
It's cool for display but I rather have play features instead of looks
I really hope Mega keeps making Halo sets for a long time. I'll never get tired of building my collection of Halo mega

Somehow only now just came across your videos and I love them! I really enjoy watching quality reviews like yours of Mega’s Halo sets and seeing what others think. I personally don’t think this set is as cool as the Forward Unto Dawn, although I don’t have one yet. Still. It’s kind of my holy grail of Halo collecting, I dream of the day I finally get one.
I do like this set though and enjoyed building it. It certainly does look fantastic on display. I agree with your points as to why Mega (sadly) opted not to included the mini frigates, and also wonder if another reason was because they decided to instead include them as the Ultra Rares in the new line of blind bag figures. Either way it was disappointing not to get them with this set, although now at least we do have some (2 at the time of this writing).

Thanks Tim, I really appreciate the feedback. I don't have the FOD either, like you I hope to one day purchase one although given the cost they go for it is sadly unlikely to happen. It's on my long list of MOCs to one day create.
Great looking ship and great review. I could be wrong but it seems to be designed to be a display piece rather than something to play with.
I think you are correct with it being designed for display but they wanted to cover all the bases so included limited play features.

Hardcore Halo Id love too see a miniature escort fleet for the infinity. Not just the frigates, by the pillar of autumn 2 class cruisers.

Video number 22: that thing is huge! It definitely does help when you look at it further back at it, it makes it look more like a model. I really like the control room and armory, especially the weapons, despite what some people think, I think that 1 colored weapons are great because then you don't have some weapons being colored and some not, for me it makes it a little bit more organized I guess or just uniformity. The figures are awesome too, especially chief and cortana, thats like the only reason and the weapons why I would buy that set. well also for the infinity but it's just too big for me.... I have no space. Great review, That hotdog piece is weird

Mine seems to be missing a few pieces. I was very careful when opening the bags and had a organized building set up. 2 very small pieces I can’t find
I would love to know what parts I need for your Strident class ship UNSC and Covenant. I would love to build them and place them with my Infiniti.
I really wish I could get back into lego and Mega construx, but by the time I was 12 I had gotten tired of sets with missing pieces or wrong pieces. I bought a Halo 4 Mantis set once, and for the top part, it came with two right sided slants for the head.

Amazon has it for $150. Never bought a signature series set before. Worth it?
For me yes, this set is more for collectors than casual buyers. It is still on my display shelves and gets the most attention from visitors. just my opinion. Ultimately it's your decision.
Apparently you can get it at target for cheaper.
I think as low for 120 somehow. Some kind of deal or something.
But was my first (maybe second, I have the H3 Pelican) series signature.
Definitely worth it.

I was unfortunate with the unsc mammoth set I couldn't build it for a few months because 80 brick peices were missing from the set and getting the missing parts for it took so long

I would like to see some Covenant ships as well. Like a Carrier or Battlecruiser. It would be cool to see an orbital defense platform too.

Hey I was wondering if you knew the Exact Measurements of the unsc Infinity? I’m looking to buy a Display shelf and I need it’s Total Length, I know it’s 31 inches but I wanna be sure. but I also needs its Width I need to make sure whatever shelf I buy is Wide and Long enough. Please and Thank You!
Really liking the look. But aside from the missing parts, I am worried about how the mega construx UNSC Infinity’s dimensions compares to the source materiel HALO 4-5 UNSC Infinity. Especially due to how the mega construx UNSC Forward unto Dawn compares to the HALO 4 UNSC Forward unto Dawn.
The ships dimensions are definitely not to scale compared to the in game ship but as a stand alone piece it is unmistakably the Infinity as I'm sure you'll agree. From certain angles it is obviously wrong but if you can look past this it is a nice set.
I wish they made a shadow of intent set that would be cool
I have this and can tell you that this is needed for and display especially if you can build a mini landscape beneath it.
Yes, I've seen someone do something similar somewhere, very effective and as you say, great on display. Maybe I'll get back to it one day if I ever build the infinity back up.

What other future sets are you thinking of building? Do you do just mega construx or lego too?
My plan is to build and record every set Mega have produced for their Halo range that I have, there all new to me. At present I'm focusing on Mega Bloks/Construx but I do have a small Star Wars Lego collection (Mainly UCS) as well as the Technic range. I don't have any plans to build these sets at the moment but I do have a sister channel set up for Lego in case I change my mind.

Gonna be honest. They could’ve made the shape of it a little bit more crisp
My only complaint is the proportions. It looks good on box, but on my shelf it would look better if the mid section (thick part) was 4-8 studs longer. I was also missing pieces too, but I was able to adjust. I’m used to it since my scarab was missing a few large and many small pieces.
I agree, if you get too close or compare to the in game ship it is wrong in quite a few places. If your not overly familiar with the in game ship or you can overlook the proportion issues it's still a nice display peace imo.

This was on my shelve dusting away so I did what any sensible person would do and destroyed it for parts, I must say it did a good job at that, with all the flat pieces I made a bombed out city, and with the normal pieces made a decent unsc outpost fit with armory, sleeping quarters, and a helipad for my falcon. I hate to say it but this set did better for me as spare parts
I used mine to build the Banished Phantom MOC so I hear you, I do like the set but it's definitely just a display piece and if I had to choose between taking apart the Banished Phantom or the Infinity the Infinity would loose every time.

i think it would have been a cool easter egg if they tried to up the part count a little bit to be like 2525 or 2552.
Can you make a custom UNSC Infinity a little bit better I was just wondering if u could make a video about that since u made the pelican a little bit better to so its just an idea but I know you have other bills to do as well cuz other people have asked but I'm just asking if u could make a build like that

It's just a bit dull compared to the forward unto dawn or other ultimate builds that came before. It deeded those frigates in its belly to be interesting

at the start when he says "the infinity orbiting an unknown planet" that planet is reach
You do know Reach would still look dark grey on the surface but clear skies from the glassing
Reach is a looooot greener. And even at that, itd be greyish or orange because of the glassing.
The planet the Infinity is orbitting on the box art is actually Requiem, home of the Didact.
It is NOT Reach. Reach was glassed 5 years prior to Halo 4, and is a hellhole now.

@@TheCitedAviator Requiem is only gray on the inside of the planet. But on the outside, it has regular forests and trees. Very similar to the Halo Rings.
They did not include them because they put them in blind bags that’s what I think

It is a shame MEGA didn’t Include the smaller ships, I would have loved that. As for how much it weighs, it is 6lbs on the dot.
Thanks for the info on the weight Cody. Your right regarding the smaller ships, although mine are not official it makes the infinity look so much better on display with them than without them, it increases the sense of size by placing smaller ships along side it.

Yeah no problem, I was a little surprised when I weighed my Infinity, it’s even though it’s got a lot of hollow spaces it’s still a big hunk of plastic!
I agree your smaller ships make the Infinity look a lot better. I’ve always loved the idea of having a to scale fleet of warships displayed next to each other

No, just the main ship and figures come with this set. If you wanted to build the smaller ships I have instructions on my channel.

Technically there are frigates, but only two. There are two frigates at the back right next to the smaller engines, VERY close to the side

You’re not the only one, I too was very disappointed when it first got released. I thought it looked unfinished and generally not something I was bothered about getting to have on display. Building it and seeing it first hand completely changed my mind (I wish I’d got more now). Could it be tiled off more…sure, is it as good as the original FUD…not sure as I don’t have it.

No handle for this box!, they actually saved 10cents/box...thats so great for them but can be a burden for the carrying task!, all other signature series have the transport handle btw. Also, they managed to over-simplified and reduced the design size and slick quality compared to the previous one, see ruclips.net/video/IPGokzwVgYk/видео.html. I like better slim finish lines rather than dotted ones (makes it look cheaper as per asia style low cost legos). A part from that its an OK product ..but not worth 300$ CAD in my opinion. I would of put at least one rare to find character in there for collectors to get but you you can find the characters anywhere on the net. I hope the upcoming Halo Infinity game on new xbox will revive the trend again so that it would be worth my 300$ lol
