I had the first original Scorpion! Nostalgic to see it again but this video really puts into perspective the improvements they've made over the years haha.
Dude holy moly! Hearing the original sale prices for all of these sets is insane! I recently got back into collecting these sets and to hear low the prices used to be compared to how much they resell for now, is just crazy to me!
It’s crazy to me too, Mega used to be an absolute steal compared to Lego, buying new or used it was a bargain. Many used set prices equal those of Lego these days. It’s good from a brand perspective as it confirms the product is collectible but bad for the wallet.
I always thought the designer scorpion and the scorpion clash were pretty much identical so I’ve not gotten the clash since I actually have the designer scorpion. I love that the clash sits higher and has a more accurate higher profile. Think I will pick it up now!
Thank you. When I finished the video I thought about doing a wraith one but then decided I’d prefer to do it off the back of a newly released covenant wraith set review. I’m not saying we’re getting one but I feel like a covenant era wraith is long overdue so maybe?
one final thing in a different comment because RUclips is being weird right now, your halo wars scorpion is missing a couple antennas that make it look leaps and bounds better than it does without, it also catches my eye a lot more on my shelf with them on there, so yours definitely needs them on it, it just looks so much better than without
Yep, someone pointed this out in in one of my other videos but I can’t find them, I addressed it in a later video but forgot to mention it in this video. Hopefully I’ll find the parts one day.
The red Mark V in the original scorpion was pretty sought after back in the day as it was the first set to feature a non-green spartan, if I remember correctly.
I find the Scorpion Sting appealing due to the dark green colors and silver pieces that dot the tanks shell. The turret feels really robust and the treads even more so. Really the only issue I had with it visually was that the barrel looked a little off in length and that the rotating anti-personnel turret I felt stuck out way too high whereas the other sets looked a tad bit more situated correctly.
what i liked about the original scorpion set was how abundant they were back when they came out. Being kid seeing the shelves lined with all those old sets were awesome. also neat detail about the OG scorpion and odst scorpions sets were that they were modeled after the halo wars scorpions. The original scorpion was the base version of it. then the odst scorpion was the fully upgraded scorpion from the game. I had like four of the original scorpions but being a dumb kid back then means i broke them and forgot to put them back together. They're probably in a box some where in storage.
Having the scorpion clash the only complaint I have personally is how high it sits from the ground. I’m sure it’s accurate to the game but I always liked how scorpions sat low to the ground
Thanks for another Great comparisum video , I would score them pretty much as you , dark green is the best colour combo but the latest is the best , bar those holes left open in the top of the track covers , the only one I do not have is the designer series , I would love the option of different guns but I am not prepared to pay the prices required
Glad I own the designer series, I feel it’s the best overall looking one, though the 2015 one is very close for me. The Infinite one is too high up for me
I know they made the 20 in 1 scorpion in green because it’s just a normal scorpion but I still wish they made it tan to fit in with the other 10th anniversary sets. Like the hawk vs banshee.
They could definitely make more re colours of Scorpions, updated CE scorpion, updated ODST, why not make an arctic one while there at it and a covert opps one too. We can dream.
As a fan of the Reclaimer Saga art style, my dream has always been to use the Sting set and the designer set to make the ultimate scorpion for me. I think I just feel like one of those lone lovers of the old H4/H5 art style.
@@brickman1175 true, though you did do the shaping of the phantom, of course the size is...well...problematic, but im sure the shaping you can manage at some point in the future. I think Condor is a good way to start off and then moving to the grizzly cause you did have the pelican, so basically the condor is that but different
@@gojirae.l.h.9431 Sorry, when I read Lich I assumed you were referring to a Covenant versions, the smooth shaping of covenant vehicles is so much more challenging than that of the the angular designs of the banished. I forgot that there was a banished version in HW2. A Condor is the most likely one I would start with due to having plenty of Pelican sets at my disposal.
@@brickman1175 oh my bad, should've clarified, but ya, I meant the banished lich cause the covenant one looks like a huge challenge. look forward to your mocs!!
I think Scorpion Clash would’ve looks way better if they didn’t go for the strange recoil mechanism that takes away so much from the aesthetic of the turret
For anyone still contemplating the Scorpion Clash set I've linked it in the description, thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍👍
That set is SO worth it
I had the first original Scorpion! Nostalgic to see it again but this video really puts into perspective the improvements they've made over the years haha.
It really is impressive how far they’ve come. It makes Lego look like they’ve stood still for the past 10 years.

I too was very surprised to see how different they are. Well worth having both if you have the cash.
Love the comparison. Would love to see something similar done with the wraith.

@@brickman1175 certainly agree we are overdue for a new Wraith build.

It's a good thing their is another designer scorpion set on sale since I had lost my last on get to get it back this time

Thanks for the info, always appreciated 👍
Hot take but I like the design of the halo 5 scorpion. It feels more “tanky”
Great video! Gave me a hit of nostalgia seeing that Halo Wars Tank. Thanks for your comparisons!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👍

Great summary, it would be awesome to get a revised version of the sting too.

Good times…
Let’s gooooo! I’ve been hoping for this comparison!!!!
Thanks for a great comparison video. Interesting comparison categories.
Thanks, I appreciate that 👍
Scarab tank 3:43
😂
Designer's Scorpion is so beautiful and fun to play with. Truly majestic piece.
Thanks for reminding me I wasn't subscribed I almost clicked off at the end

Try combining the scorpion clash with the 20 in 1 scorpion, thats what i did with mine. Offers a more greener look
Interesting idea
I see the Scorpion's Sting looking almost identical to the Scorpion in Halo wars 2 execept its machine gun is in the turret
my first halo set was the scorpion, had it for cristmas, and thats how i became a halo fan
That’s a great way to start, thanks for sharing 😁

Thanks for the feedback, the designer series is crazy price these days. I wouldn’t pay the going rate if I didn’t have it.
0:12 37 dollars 😭 sets like that now cost 50 to 80 dollars
Yep, times sure have changed.

I've got the 2015 set and I still think its excellent but I would like to get one of the newer versions like that 2022 set

This man is like the MandR Productions of the Mega Blox community
one thing to note is that they haven't made a halo wars 2 scorpion (m808S)
Or a CE version.

You’re not alone, I like H4 & H5 art style too. I’m just a big fan of diversity.
now I'm thinking you should try making a Grizzly or a Condor or a Lich MOC, because your banished Phantom and turret, plus Pelican were amazing MOCs
Thanks. Grizzly and Condor highly likely at some point, lich is unlikely due to size and shaping.

I think you missed the Toys R Us exclusive one that’s grey with the ODSTs and the vampire
It’s the only one I don’t have so couldn’t compare.
@@brickman1175 I have one but it’s like super damaged
If you add the rhino set and the flood hunter scorpion, you would have covered all the tanks in mega bloks halo.. :)
True, didn’t even think about the Rhino to be honest, that’s another set that’s due for an update. And where’s our Grizzly while I think of it 😂
I think Scorpion Clash would’ve looks way better if they didn’t go for the strange recoil mechanism that takes away so much from the aesthetic of the turret
Agreed.
