- WESTMINSTER'S SHOCKING DISRESPECT FOR WASPI WOMEN
Today I challenged against the U.K. Government's delivery of a mealy-mouthed response to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) report which leaves WASPI women in continued limbo with no plan to address the injustice they have suffered.
The PHSO conclusions vindicated the women born in the 1950s who have been campaigning for pension justice for many years, after their state pension age was raised with little or no notice, as well as delivering a damning indictment of the Department for Work and Pensions.
For the U.K. Government, aided and abetted by the incoming Labour Government to refuse to compensate these women is truly disgraceful and a shocking betrayal.
We in the SNP stand shoulder to shoulder with these women who are Not Going Away 👇
The gaff is empty again their not interested 😔
One word a disgrace 😮😮
They didn't just change it once, they kept on moving the goalposts.
Excellent as always Patricia 👍
Compensation plus interest as HMRC would demand if we owed tax. Well said. The government are dragging their feet so more woman will die who are owed lost pension.
Well i am surprised those men don't care about women
Did women care about men when men's retirement age was 5 years later?
Well said, no they did not give one hoot about it. This has been an injustice against men for decades, no wonder women live longer than men.@@eljay5009
Women wanted equal rights.
Thank you so well said .😮😮
Whichever Government are in power need to address this appalling situation and re-prioritise it. It seems diabolical that money can be made available for immigrants of this country but not for the Waspie women who have contributed to towards the upkeep of this nation. It’s their money - give it back to them!
And what about men of the same age. Haven't they also contributed - yet had to wait up to 5 years longer to get their state pension?
Wrong argument to pick. Women have had it good for far too long with regard to this issue. How about we ask women to work an extra 5 years longer than men for the next century?

You know what happened to your Name Sake ......These women Were NEVER TOLD The Age For Women's Pension Age Would Rise to 66.....Some only 6mnths before It was raised....WTF Would You Do WITHOUT WOMEN ...STFUP YOU 🤡....Do You EVEN WORK????!!!!
tories and Labour weasiling their way out of a compesation package.
I find this whole situation alarming. It is horrendously sexist and the whole debate needs someone honest enough to say no, enough. Women have got away with being able to retire earlier than men for far far too long. There is a reason why women live longer than men and have benefited hugely from this appalling miscarriage of justice against men for decades.
Typical avoiding the question
They are not interested in resolving this issue just waffling on as usual
I have a resolution - make women work for 5 years longer than men for the next century.
The 8.5% doesn’t even cover the council tax increase.
They always quote other things rather than address the question. In some households some husbands don’t see it as their responsibility to keep their wives that’s what her pension is for but you try getting benefits when they include his pension into it and therefore deny them benefits
And some of us are not married
Thats because they died waiting for there pension
what about the rightful percentage denied to us during covid that we did not recieve full amount for us all during that year when interests or wages were higher
I'm 20 days off being a Waspi. The cut off point is not great, as I wont retire till Im 67, with the same conditions as those born 20 days earlier. I understand those born in early '50s, but having started work shortly after my 16th birthday, i feel just as cheated.
No your predecessors were paid to early
@lisabutcher661 oh god. Divide and rule really works, eh. I try telling myself that, but then get resentful! I doubt my grandchildren will ever retire though.
So you are being treated exactly the same as a man of the same age - just what have you been "cheated" out of?
My retirement age is also 67 (and I fully expect it to rise again to 68 - which is the current proposal)
@eljay5009 yeah, I imagine you gave birth, looked after children, got paid less, had very little time to yourself, blah blah blah. By the way, not everything is about you.
PENSION PLEA (to the Government)
We are the women born in the 50’s,
Who will not falter in our fight.
The government postponed our pension.
This isn’t fair. It isn’t right.
We contributed to this Nation,
Our workforce made this county great.
We don’t deserve to be singled out
Told our pensions have to wait.
We enriched the UK’s economy,
As teachers, nurses, mother and wife.
Now a random birth date lottery
Gives us an impoverished life.
We did as the government bade us,
Made sacrifices and paid our due.
Now is the time to repay that debt,
We did our bit. Now its up to you.

How about some respect and appreciation for men that went on working till 65 while women got the same pension FIVE years earlier.
That went on for DECADES, where were the waspi women then? Were they protesting that inequality.
Not a bit of it.
The Government made a long overdue correction.
Most men have the vast majority of jobs that require 'hard work' but they have always been made to retire at 67 so I really don't have any sympathy for these women. In fact they still get a better deal than men because they live for a few yeas longer on average and so are still taking the state pension longer. I think it is disgusting, hypocritical and immoral that they should be whinging that they want hand outs. Pure greed and selfishness.
Demand equal rights then cry when they get it
Oh yes you have increased the pension, the one we can't access for 6 years and the loss of £48,000 to £54,000 for the period we should have got it. The pension we have been paying into and have been struggling to pay bills, keep a roof over our heads, no holidays etc, etc. Shame on you. Stop prevaricating!!!
You haven't been paying into your state pension - that's not how it works.
And Men working for 5 years more?
Well : isn’t the truth that pension age equalisation has eliminated an injustice in favour of women since men had to work five years longer before qualifying for a state pension ?
Did the five years less mean the actual pension amount was less than for men ?
Men always had the better paying jobs, bigger pensions, did not have to take time off to look after children, that was always women's domain. Please don't play the poor men retiring at 65 card and that was such an injustice.
@@user-iu2ny5iq2r Everybody knew the increase in the pension age was coming.
My pension age has risen too but I'm not moaning about it.
So did men get a larger payment at 65 than women did at 60? That was the question I asked

More lies again
This is truly awful. Labour are shocking. Another post office scandal.
Hardly, the sub post masters have a very viable claim to compensation whereas the WASPI's and their crooked lawyers are just on the make. Grifters.
Equal rights for women?
But only when it benefits them. Not so keen on it when it disadvantages them.
how sexist can you get ? what about men as well I had to work a year extra for my pension ,im owed money too ,
