As an aristocrat with several boat houses and stables I must agree the amount we have to pay in standing charges just for the occasional use of lights in my stables is absurd. The country as a whole should be paying for the wiring needed. Since we got onto the government free money renewable energy scheme we generate lots of local solar energy so we only need the grid on Christmas Day, again absurd I am expected to foot the large standing charge bill when all those people in tower blocks should be contributing to wiring the grid to my estate.

I and every other man who had to work 5 years longer will be seething if these grifters get a pay out. Why should we have to work 5 years longer then pay even more in taxes to give compensation to people who have merely been made equal? I can't believe the front of these scroungers!

The government are all the same, and the fact they changed the retirement age and we now have to claim ourselves, I was bringing up young children when I was told the age was going up to 62 I didn’t have time to sort a private pension I brought my kids up but was looking forward to me retiring at 60 I then was my husbands carer but tried to get back to work

This is not just about robbing women of their pensions, its also tied in with married men going from a married pension on retirement, to a single mans's pension, that, unless the husband has a decent private pension from long employment service ( and ive seen FIVE companies close i have worked for!), we are forced to carry on working until our wives reach 67 instead of 60 !!! The initial age increase was announced in 1995. These deluded women chose to ignore it, in the hope that it would not happen, and just go away. Tough ladies it didn’t go away, and lying about not being told is not going to work. You had mor3 than enough notice and you should have made arrangements, it’s nobody’s fault but your own. Men have had to work on past the age of 60 for years s suck it up and live with it. You’re demanding something you have no right to, and any money paid will be at the expense of your children and grandchildren, and they will despise you for your greed.

Can I just add I have a basic pension of 800 pound a month ,but because I have just above the means tested amount in the bank I get no help at all my 4 years money that was stolen would come in really handy ,and a correction to the amount was 181 billion pounds stollen

There's a difference from seeking independence and a wish to rip the union apart. Scotland has no say over the other 3 nations but can choose it's destiny knowing if there is a next time round, the Tories are fully exposed as liars and hoodwinkers acting with impunity. I note, with irony, that 'WASPI' includes the word 'inequality' ...... but these women weren't apparently unhappy with the former situation when they were able to draw their pension at the age of 60 whereas men had to wait until they were 65 years old. The inequality of that situation didn't provoke them to any action.

There is a bit of selective amnesia here. In 2019 Labour was promising a £58 million compensation scheme for WASPI women. This was used as a powerful attack point from the Tories because it disrupted Labour's carefully planned budget for their proposed reforms as it required borrowing, and of course the Tories _never_ borrow (cough - tripled the national debt!). The SNP is currently in the similar position of other peripheral parties, who can make whatever promises and claims they like, because they'll _never_ have to bring them to fruition or account for them. Labour, on the other hand are having to make the kind of tough choices that fall to a party that has to take over after 14 years of Tory misrule. I have no doubt that they will do their best to help the WASPI women, as it has been part of their previous policy. However, Starmer is not going to make the same mistake that Corbyn did and commit the party to borrowing, when the 90% Tory-dominated media are circling like hungry vultures, looking for a gap to dive through.

In fact they still get a better deal than men because they live for a few yeas longer on average and so are still taking the state pension longer. I think it is disgusting, hypocritical and immoral that they should be whinging that they want hand outs. Pure greed and selfishness.

The inequality should be addressed. Why must men work longer to claim the same pension. Why should women get compensation for gaining the equality they demanded. Let’s not forget the men’s pension age went up at the same time as women’s. Where are the calls for compensation for men. You’re correct. The inequality has to end. Women should work as long as men and if women get compensation for the pension age rising then so should men. Men should also be compensated for the decades of having to work for longer than women before getting state pension.

They had 25 years notice and 90% of women were well aware so you shouldn’t reward ignorance financially
