Feel secure that Rob loves, admires and respects you. Not every man wants to raise children while in their 60s and 70s. That is his way of telling you that your happiness is high priority. This is a commendably honest account. It's my suspicion that Asian girls worry about what foreigners may think of their origins because most Asian men prefer to either marry up, or sideways to someone of equal social status. My girlfriend once asked me, "Why do you love a poor girl as me ?" I explained that I value her beauty and her character, yet her family's wealth was not a factor. She was raised in a wooden house without walls, just posts and a roof, hence no privacy from neighbours, and limited protection from the sunshine and the rain. That level of poverty should make us thankful for our first world problems.
For an ambush interview this video was amazing. You both express so well. It may be the best I have seen you do. Interview on the fly like you did is such a skill.
Chrissy is so dear sweet girl. she will always value being in a new place, she is so intelligent and well spoken, and dignified and humble. seeing the humble homes of hardworking good family makes a person empathetic and caring. I was impressed He stopped to play basketball and be in the moment and join the fun . this visit will increase appreciation for each other , thanks for letting us see too.

Thank you for this open and revealing interview. For me Chrissy’s home was like a fancy hotel compared to a Filipina’s home. My response was different from Rob’s. I immediately embraced it because I saw how happy and playful people were and how simple life could be. It made me wonder why the US were so discontented with so much materialism compare the happiness is the deep province I saw. I had deeper feelings for the Filipina I was with and respected her far more than before. She washed all 10 siblings and parents clothes by hand after getting the water from the well. I recall seeing the walls of the kitchen area black from using wood to cook food. They girls slept on a wood plank next to each other (5) and they called themselves sardines. I stayed there a week and it was one part of why I decided to leave the US. The joy in my heart being surrounded by monumental natural beauty and happy people impacted me. since the late 1980’s I’ve seen similar living conditions of friends in China and South America. I’m not the usual American who prefers comforts when traveling and instead prefers deep village living so I can experience true cultures. I grow tremendously that way and it opens my limited American mindset of the way things “should” be. I wouldn’t live in a huge house, and instead a more simple home with air con and good WiFi not too far from the village. Since 1989 in a deep village where at that time we had to walk 2 hours by foot to the village I went to, I saw a world most never see and am drawn to the authenticity and deep connection between people as opposed to the more independence of the US. Great questions Chrissy and courage to let us in. I would like to see a video of questions how Chrissy feels about stepping into the material life of Rob’s knowing her family still lives the way they do 🙏🏼

Have and stayed with family in South America living in similar environment. Some with no running water, makeshift toilet. I should be able to get by pretty easy over there.
I am 61 and my girlfriend with whom I want to marry is 30, very much in the same age group as Rob and Chrissy respectively. My gf also said that she grew up in a small house in the province of Negros. I am very much acceptant of people who might live in harsh/rough/poor conditions because I admire those who can rise and has risen from their humble past and by hard work and diligence reached a level where you can tell them apart from your city individuals. I love my girlfriend and no matter her past will continue to love her. She is currently living in Cebu City. Great video, Chrissy. Rob, I love your calm way of dealing with her probing questions and putting her mind at ease. I could see that how you would react was making her anxious before the time.
I turn 36 this month my filipina turns 20 in November we are planning our future and I arrive in December. We have met eachothers mum's. Our LDR is stronger every day. Thanks for the guidence. I haven't been this happy or this focused on goals in a long time.

Wow, another amazing video , so glad it was done in a very raw way with no prep. What I got from your video and what I got in my own experience I could only begin to describe in two words, “truly humbling” . It was truely humbling to see the things you see over there when you come from, a country that has an overabundance. The amount of love and hospitality you find over there can be absolutely overwhelming at times, sometimes even bringing you to tears. Rob, far as your lady goes, you have an angel there.

This is my favorite of your videos. This is the most authentic we see you. It addresses a serious subject that you both had apprehensions about. You had those apprehensions because you both genuinely care about the relationship. I once was 43 and in an LDR with a Filipina (22) who lived about 1.5 hours outside of Manila by Jeepnee. After some time, on video she showed me where she lived with her father and sister in a very dilapidated shack. She slept on a mat on the floor. The water poured into the "house" when it rained. It was a crazy juxtaposition - - - this SUPER SHINY SPARKLING GORGEOUS young girl in these ultra - drab, colorless, lifeless, cold, shi**y surroundings. I had not shown her my house for many months. One day she was with a friend and video called. I showed her my brand new two-story 4,000 Sq feet McMansion with floor to ceiling windows and water view. Three living rooms. A crazy kitchen etc etc. Her and her friend's jaws dropped to the ground. They were stunned. I can't explain all my feelings about that but I really wanted to save her and bring her into my life. All the time she desperately wanted me to go see her, to go to her "house." I envisioned having a beer with her dad (around 55 - and worked 6 days/week in hard construction for $6USD/day). An eye-opening experience.

I guess I will mirror some of what Bentnielsen previously wrote, ie, It appears that you are still processing the event of visiting Chrissy's family and home, with you perhaps renewing or increasing your humility in a good Christ way, along with better empathizing with Chrissy and appreciating her more than before the visit. Chrissy is certainly a class act [as are you] but she has lived a life that hopefully you will never have to live or that she never has to return to. I see wonderful things in you two that I can't adequately articulate/explain [all good] that lives in my solar plexus of love toward everybody. If I were to try to explain anything more about Chrissy and yourself, it would be that the two of you are Archangels from heaven to share God's love with one another [and everybody else]. Another great set of questions and interview by Chrissy. I think Chrissy has patience and had always held her dreams close to her, and that is why she got her education, doesn’t have a defeatist attitude, and had kept her feminine grace. She is a rare woman…one who would be hard to find anywhere in the world.
I watch this video at the 6-month mark, after you two have moved to the "hill top condo overlooking the community pool". In that more recent video Chrissy gently jokes that the next time you two move it may be to a bit more modest home. I suspect as Chrissy moves further up the socio-economic ladder, the more "pangs of guilt" may arise as her family is remaining behind?!? Those very deeply ingrained feelings, that the family has invested in her to be educated, upwardly mobile, and a source of future security. Chrissy is literally her family's living "pension fund". It's a very traditional "Philipino Thing". I'm convinced that is why Philipino parents are so accepting of their daughters pairing up with foreigners. I see this like the stories of the west's agricultural past where children were "needed" as helping hands on the family farm. She is both an earner and a keeper. 🙂 Love to you both.

The most precious jewels come from the Earth, a rough diamond is found in the ground mother nature. Then we cut it into a wonderful stone priceless . This is the way I see Chrissy…… treat her just like you would treat a flawless diamond. Never mind where she comes from. It was not her choice. Very intelligent young woman. No one is above no one. And no one is below. No one. Money means nothing.

I spent some time in the Far East in the 80's. Other than Western influence and some technology advances, it appears still the same. I have a lady in Gingoog and I will be meeting her in CDO in Feb for 10 days. I had already decided to retire there before we met. I will be moving perm. in early 2025. Poverty is everywhere, even in the US. Good people with strong family values are everywhere too. I may have found a real gem in my gal. Time will tell.
Rob! You need to get out and do some traveling. The Philippines has so many different cultures and lifestyles. It’s quite beautiful to experience all economic classes. I find the provincial lifestyle so peaceful and authentic. Don’t get me wrong, I do like class and comfort, but living amongst the countryside is nice! I’ve toured much of the country on my motorcycle and thoroughly enjoy it! I’ve also driven in Manila! I don’t recommend that! I passed through CDO and caught a 15 hour ferry to Iloilo. I hope our paths cross sometime. I’d love to meet you.
Steve's very thoughtful. The child issue is HUGE and he's smart enough to know it could be a deal killer. He needs to have "the talk" about discipline. If her boy comes to live with them - he needs to be the Dad and he must be the boss. PERIOD. If not - sorry - but you'll both have hard times in the future.

Great idea. I’ve been to see both her mothers house and her father‘s house. I have a video on both and her family has been to our house in CDO multiple times.
I have to agree with you, just because the girl was raised in not the best conditions it does not mean they are not capable of becoming a better person in terms of quality of life. My wife grew up poor in a not so great area in Quezon City, her parents were tailors, and had a canteen, they saved and put my wife thru college, she has her PhD as a Dentist. When I went the first time and saw the conditions I was humbled even more. I have lived and worked all over the world and seen horrific living conditions far worse than what you can ever imagine, Filipino's are very resilient people.
Hi Chissy, I am 65 Years old, I never had the remote idea of a LDR but to me you are great, the way you handle the situation, which is great. I follow your videos and inspired me to reach up to you for, maybe a little help. I don’t have any experience on dating this way. I am retired, well stablished, living alone, healthy ( thankfully), never married, due to my old activities, (sometime I will love to share with you), I am a n American Citizen, born in Mexico moved to USA 40 years ago, I have a dog as a companion. What an incredibly humbling experience to see this from all the way in the middle of the U.S. My best friend has a Filipina wife. I hope my noun usage is proper. Rob is right. We have it so we'll here even at almost the lowest standards of living here but we are indeed stressed and alot of us feign happiness by the hour. We are just so focused on such unimportant things in this country. I love it and fought for it. But to see on video Chrissy's family smiling and engaging and to hear Robs words to describe the experience was an eye opener. There is a balance on this earth and in some spiritual way I believe that there's a connection to the immense amount of wisdom to be gained by societies and varying cultures getting to view and truly experience each other. I think Chrissy is a very special lady, I think it would be hard to find a lady like her, (in any country) but as I am going to arrive in the Philippines in June, I will try. Also, Rob seems very loving, sincere, and patient, and you are both very intelligent and sophisticated. I believe you two will do well together, and build a happy life. For me, Rob summed it up very well at the end with regard to my search for a lady when I get there - it's all about the strength, cohesiveness, and attitudes of the family she comes from. A well adjusted, excellent partner will come from the same kind of family. I do kind of wonder if Chrissy was married before? (Not really any of my business of course.) I wonder because, as there is no divorce in the PH, I've heard of horror stories about ex-husband coming back and making problems for the Fillipina and her new man. Thanks for your outstanding support and comments Chrissy was married for one year ..divorce is not legal in the Philippines a process called annulment has been in place for many years. It takes you about one year salary for the average filipina or filipino, and the chance of success can be 0 to 50% fortunately Chrissy‘s ex-husband being in the army had some connections and knew a lawyer who was able to push the annulment through.
My Angel 😇 lived in the mountains. You better be in good shape. Walter Payton would not run up. Dangerous but they walk every day. Her bro carried momma down n up in the dark to and from hospital. Super human strength not a muscle on him. I'll never forget that . Not to mention how hard it was to build the brick house and carry up all the materials up that hill. Interesting video on culture and sometimes culture clashes... I grew up in what's called Cajun country and my grandparents, both my mom's and dad's side spoke very little English. Cajun French was the language my uncles and aunts spoke as well as all the older folks....it's basically my generation that learned English as a first language so communication was difficult at times, we learned many words but few were fluent in it and our parents didn't want us to learn, it's a dead language they would tell us.... We grew up poor, maybe not province poor, we had wood or cement floors, but not much better and we were happy, we didn't know what we didn't have because nobody else we knew had it either...... sticks, mops, broomes, pieces of wood and our imagination were toys and entertainment..... To Chrisy, never me ashamed of where you came from because you had no control in that, make yourself stronger, smarter, healthier and happier with your life and help others to do so as well and everyone will look up to you for inspiration...... I've said it before but both of you are lucky to have found each other....
I know how you feel Rob.i live in Costa Rica now 23years. My girlfriend was 49 year's younger then me .the whole world turned against me. ROB she was 10 years with me and never fight or 1 argument honest to God. When she turn 33 she lay down on kitchen floor and died. We didn't know she had a brain tumor. I have been very sad because of the love we had . I worried that I would die first I made planes so she would live good when I die. I haven't dated since she died the hurt won't go away. I plan to go to the philippines but I need to sell a lot of property in Costa Rica first. If I move to philippines I'll try to meet you guys ok. Don’t worry about the dinner tables of Europe etc . With corruption, crime, drugs, racial division to name a few it means that western countries such as the US are failing as societies. That is why China will overtake the US as the world’s dominant country. So be happy and proud of what you have in the Philippines. You are both very lucky to have each other.
House on an acre in Scottsdale? What did you sell that for? Has to be 7 figures. I have a boring house in the west valley and it is worth 500k. I spent almost a month in a small village outside Ormoc a few years ago. One thing I noticed is how all the children were outside and playing; playing nonstop. It reminded me of my youth (as I am sure it reminds you of your youth), a life without electronics controlling everything you live for. I told my wife in PH, "When we have children, no electronics while the sun is up unless it is related to school." I want my children to have that experience of running around outside and enjoy life.

I just seen this now although its 4months old,,, I to married a far younger woman (Not Filipino) and sadly it didn't work out but it was nothing to do with age difference. In fact I would certainly recommend and advise any older male to marry or partner someone a lot younger in age,,, It will keep you a younger at heart and more than likely more mobile,,, So if your already thinking about it,,, then do it. As long as its not a western woman. You both have so mutch to learn and give to one another.
LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE FROM, BUT WHERE ARE YOU GOING! ...To me, Chrissy's past only conjures up empathy for her courage and self-endurance for all of the hardship she had to go through to get where she is. While her earlier life may have been different than most and her privileges far apart from others, in the end, it makes her who she is today. ...Personally, I've pondered whether or not I could make the adjustment I would be asking a younger partner to make. I know I would lose friends at my Country Club, who would be saying all of the things you have echoed in your concerns. I told a couple of my friends that I was thinking of going to the Philippines, to meet up with a person I had been communicating with who was 40 years younger than me. The immediate remarks were are you crazy? She is younger than your daughter. Now, when I see them at the CC bar, they seem to just say hi; there's not a lot of small talk anymore! ...I have everything: a gated community, a very large home, and I'm financially set for life, but I'm not happy! I want someone with whom I can share what I have. I could live a meager lifestyle, but why should I when I can live a better lifestyle and also provide a better lifestyle for a partner and her immediate family. ...Rob, you may have struggled with some of these same thoughts. ...My concern is how do I find someone like Crissy. Rob, I genuinely believe Chrissy loves you and will stand by you forever. ...Rob, I really appreciate Chrissy asking you the 20 questions and for allowing us to see where she gained some of her perspectives on life.... Wow. What a wonderful, real, touching, and humane discussion as the finale, for now, to the 2 previous videos of visiting Chrissy's mother's and father's places (great videos as well). Again we see how intelligent (IQ + EQ), smart and so so lovely and real Chrissy is! You two remind me of the way I used to be when I was young regarding being real, deep, sepiritual, with hearfelt discussions about life and relationships. I had similar thoughts as Rob did, but I could relate to that environment. My paternal grandparents were sharecroppers in rural Alabama as late as 1977. I remember staying at their sharecropper's shack, which they didn't own, until my dad and a couple of his sisters bought them a house. It was only a few rooms, maybe four, I think. There was no indoor plumbing. They had a hand pump to get drinking water from the well. They had an outhouse. The house was truly something from a bygone Era. My grandmother cooked on a large cast iron wood burning stove. The house only had that stove and fireplaces for heat. No AC. We had to bathe in a large wash tub, which I hated because we had to use the same water as the adult after they washed. That was disgusting. They did have electricity, but their phone line was a party line. Which was one phone line for about four different families spread out over a couple of miles. The phone rang in everyone's house at the same time. Everyone one could eavesdrop on each other's conversations, but they made it all work. Camber pots and all. I looked at it like camping as well. My older siblings hated it and refused to stay when my parents left. I did, though. It was much different from my life in NYC. It is important to note that their temperament was much like the philipino people, and they were always happy. Those family members are now some of the most educated, successful, and sophisticated people I know. They value family and education above all. They are business owners, teachers, lawyers, and engineers now. So it doesn't surprise me how Chrissy can exist comfortably in both spaces. You have a gem on your hands, Rob. One thing did surprise me, Chrissy mentioned she had an ex-husband. If so, you guys need to take her out of the country so that she can get a divorce. It could spell trouble for Rob as it is a crime to have an intimate relationship with a married person in the Philippines. So I hope she just called him her ex-husband to keep things simple. Stay connected, guys. I love your love story.

Yes the fearers are there But ! I know it's a bit base but you are both getting what you want from this relationship. There is love there we can see it and that's what counts at the end of the day. I believe you’re right I’ve been doing keto for years and I do intermittent fasting before I headed to the Philippines. I fasted for five days straight and never felt better.
I just started watching but i can tell Krissy - men don't care about the past (unless we are talking about sexual immorality or lying). Your man doesn't care where you lived or if you were "poor". That's not why you are together. You make him happy, That's all that matters.

There's definitely some "culture shock" when you move to a 3rd world country. Personally, after a relatively easy life in the West, I would find the change to be challenging.
I appreciate your honesty Rob but I am wondering what you are bringing to Chrissy’s life culturally. Sure she was brought out of poverty but according to the Philippines you must take care of the parents, particularly with her mother living in squalor and her child being left out of the picture. This is not a personal attack but an outside view of your situation. As a professional counselor how do you really think this is affecting Chrissy? I wish you all of the luck but remember you moved from your culture into hers and are enjoying the fruits of her youth and beauty. Good luck to you both and God bless.
I appreciate your question and the opportunity gives me for self reflection. Chrissy‘s child is visiting every month and will live with us full-time soon Chrissy younger sister, five years old and Chrissy’s 17-year-old brother will have an opportunity in school they may not have had previously, and Chrissy‘s mother is being provided opportunities. I will not discuss here, in terms of enrichment and culture, being exposed to a partner whose lived and experienced a western culture and traveled the world, and can share can be perceived to be a benefit by many
Filipinos seek out foreigners and then go on about THEIR culture. If it’s so important maybe they should stick to Filipino men. It’s not even my responsibility to take of my mom, let alone someone else’s mom. Culture is just a manipulation tactic used on Americans. it’s not our culture, it’s your culture. The ONLY reasonable exception is if you asked her to quit her job to spend more time with you. if she’s unemployed, she wasn’t sending any money home, nothing changed.
They do not expect Filipino men to pay for their family, so how can you say it’s culture lol. Again, it’s a manipulation. A man is only responsible for the needs of his wife and kids, rent, food, clothes. I don’t owe someone’s family a better place to live.
I know without a doubt in good conscience, I could not be living in a house as large as yours knowing that your wife's mother is living in the conditions you are showing us. It would not sit well one bit!

This man is more concerned with his luxuries than how his lovely wife felt. She was opening her heart and soul to the world and to him, unfortunately, he just doesn't get it does he. OMG.... I am just LMAO as I watch Chrissy ambush Rob and how he is trying to smile and hide how uncomfortable he is with her telling him she wants to ask him 20 questions. I've NEVER seen Rob so uncomfortable before. But he settled down quickly and gave thoughtful honest answers about what he felt about Chrissy's former lifestyle. The one thing I notice about this video [and it is obvious in all their previous videos as well, but in this video, Chrissy is a lot more open and vulnerable than in other videos] is how deeply and genuinely you both love each other and how good you are for each other. It is often said and desired to find someone who both compliments you and completes you and you two do that for each other and it comes across clearly in this video. Bless both of you and keep loving each other so much. I agree with what @billslaven28 said below, you two are definetly good for each other. And don't worry about what other people think or say. It's my suspicion that Asian girls worry about what foreigners may think of their origins because most Asian men prefer to either marry up, or sideways to someone of equal social status.
My girlfriend once asked me, "Why do you love a poor girl as me ?" I explained that I value her beauty and her character, yet her family's wealth was not a factor.
She was raised in a wooden house without walls, just posts and a roof, hence no privacy from neighbours, and limited protection from the sunshine and the rain.
That level of poverty should make us thankful for our first world problems.

Thank you for this open and revealing interview. For me Chrissy’s home was like a fancy hotel compared to a Filipina’s home. My response was different from Rob’s. I immediately embraced it because I saw how happy and playful people were and how simple life could be. It made me wonder why the US were so discontented with so much materialism compare the happiness is the deep province I saw. I had deeper feelings for the Filipina I was with and respected her far more than before. She washed all 10 siblings and parents clothes by hand after getting the water from the well. I recall seeing the walls of the kitchen area black from using wood to cook food. They girls slept on a wood plank next to each other (5) and they called themselves sardines. I stayed there a week and it was one part of why I decided to leave the US. The joy in my heart being surrounded by monumental natural beauty and happy people impacted me. since the late 1980’s I’ve seen similar living conditions of friends in China and South America. I’m not the usual American who prefers comforts when traveling and instead prefers deep village living so I can experience true cultures. I grow tremendously that way and it opens my limited American mindset of the way things “should” be. I wouldn’t live in a huge house, and instead a more simple home with air con and good WiFi not too far from the village. Since 1989 in a deep village where at that time we had to walk 2 hours by foot to the village I went to, I saw a world most never see and am drawn to the authenticity and deep connection between people as opposed to the more independence of the US. Great questions Chrissy and courage to let us in. I would like to see a video of questions how Chrissy feels about stepping into the material life of Rob’s knowing her family still lives the way they do 🙏🏼

Have and stayed with family in South America living in similar environment. Some with no running water, makeshift toilet. I should be able to get by pretty easy over there.
I am 61 and my girlfriend with whom I want to marry is 30, very much in the same age group as Rob and Chrissy respectively. My gf also said that she grew up in a small house in the province of Negros. I am very much acceptant of people who might live in harsh/rough/poor conditions because I admire those who can rise and has risen from their humble past and by hard work and diligence reached a level where you can tell them apart from your city individuals. I love my girlfriend and no matter her past will continue to love her. She is currently living in Cebu City. Great video, Chrissy. This is my favorite of your videos. This is the most authentic we see you. It addresses a serious subject that you both had apprehensions about. You had those apprehensions because you both genuinely care about the relationship. I once was 43 and in an LDR with a Filipina (22) who lived about 1.5 hours outside of Manila by Jeepnee. After some time, on video she showed me where she lived with her father and sister in a very dilapidated shack. She slept on a mat on the floor. The water poured into the "house" when it rained. It was a crazy juxtaposition - - - this SUPER SHINY SPARKLING GORGEOUS young girl in these ultra - drab, colorless, lifeless, cold, shi**y surroundings. I had not shown her my house for many months. One day she was with a friend and video called. I showed her my brand new two-story 4,000 Sq feet McMansion with floor to ceiling windows and water view. Three living rooms. A crazy kitchen etc etc. Her and her friend's jaws dropped to the ground. They were stunned. I can't explain all my feelings about that but I really wanted to save her and bring her into my life. All the time she desperately wanted me to go see her, to go to her "house." I envisioned having a beer with her dad (around 55 - and worked 6 days/week in hard construction for $6USD/day). An eye-opening experience.

I guess I will mirror some of what Bentnielsen previously wrote, ie, It appears that you are still processing the event of visiting Chrissy's family and home, with you perhaps renewing or increasing your humility in a good Christ way, along with better empathizing with Chrissy and appreciating her more than before the visit. Chrissy is certainly a class act [as are you] but she has lived a life that hopefully you will never have to live or that she never has to return to. I see wonderful things in you two that I can't adequately articulate/explain [all good] that lives in my solar plexus of love toward everybody. I watch this video at the 6-month mark, after you two have moved to the "hill top condo overlooking the community pool".
In that more recent video Chrissy gently jokes that the next time you two move it may be to a bit more modest home.
I suspect as Chrissy moves further up the socio-economic ladder, the more "pangs of guilt" may arise as her family is remaining behind?!?
Those very deeply ingrained feelings, that the family has invested in her to be educated, upwardly mobile, and a source of future security.
Chrissy is literally her family's living "pension fund". It's a very traditional "Philipino Thing".
I'm convinced that is why Philipino parents are so accepting of their daughters pairing up with foreigners.
I see this like the stories of the west's agricultural past where children were "needed" as helping hands on the family farm.
She is both an earner and a keeper. 🙂 Love to you both.

The most precious jewels come from the Earth, a rough diamond is found in the ground mother nature. Then we cut it into a wonderful stone priceless . This is the way I see Chrissy…… treat her just like you would treat a flawless diamond. Never mind where she comes from. It was not her choice. Very intelligent young woman. No one is above no one. And no one is below. No one. Money means nothing.

Thanks B Goat - check out the 90 day plan. I met Chrissy 45 days prior to meeting in person. I think it’s best to go online 30-45 days before arrival regardless of meeting anyone. Your mileage may vary.
I spent some time in the Far East in the 80's. Other than Western influence and some technology advances, it appears still the same. I have a lady in Gingoog and I will be meeting her in CDO in Feb for 10 days. I had already decided to retire there before we met. I will be moving perm. in early 2025. Poverty is everywhere, even in the US. Good people with strong family values are everywhere too. I may have found a real gem in my gal. Time will tell.

Rob! You need to get out and do some traveling. The Philippines has so many different cultures and lifestyles. It’s quite beautiful to experience all economic classes. I find the provincial lifestyle so peaceful and authentic. Don’t get me wrong, I do like class and comfort, but living amongst the countryside is nice! I’ve toured much of the country on my motorcycle and thoroughly enjoy it! I’ve also driven in Manila! I don’t recommend that! I passed through CDO and caught a 15 hour ferry to Iloilo. I hope our paths cross sometime. I’d love to meet you.

Great idea. I’ve been to see both her mothers house and her father‘s house. I have a video on both and her family has been to our house in CDO multiple times.
I have to agree with you, just because the girl was raised in not the best conditions it does not mean they are not capable of becoming a better person in terms of quality of life. My wife grew up poor in a not so great area in Quezon City, her parents were tailors, and had a canteen, they saved and put my wife thru college, she has her PhD as a Dentist. When I went the first time and saw the conditions I was humbled even more. I have lived and worked all over the world and seen horrific living conditions far worse than what you can ever imagine, Filipino's are very resilient people.

Rob is right. We have it so we'll here even at almost the lowest standards of living here but we are indeed stressed and alot of us feign happiness by the hour.
We are just so focused on such unimportant things in this country. I love it and fought for it.
But to see on video Chrissy's family smiling and engaging and to hear Robs words to describe the experience was an eye opener. There is a balance on this earth and in some spiritual way I believe that there's a connection to the immense amount of wisdom to be gained by societies and varying cultures getting to view and truly experience each other. I think Chrissy is a very special lady, I think it would be hard to find a lady like her, (in any country) but as I am going to arrive in the Philippines in June, I will try.
Also, Rob seems very loving, sincere, and patient, and you are both very intelligent and sophisticated. I believe you two will do well together, and build a happy life.
For me, Rob summed it up very well at the end with regard to my search for a lady when I get there - it's all about the strength, cohesiveness, and attitudes of the family she comes from. A well adjusted, excellent partner will come from the same kind of family.
I do kind of wonder if Chrissy was married before? (Not really any of my business of course.) I wonder because, as there is no divorce in the PH, I've heard of horror stories about ex-husband coming back and making problems for the Fillipina and her new man.

Thanks for your outstanding support and comments Chrissy was married for one year ..divorce is not legal in the Philippines a process called annulment has been in place for many years. It takes you about one year salary for the average filipina or filipino, and the chance of success can be 0 to 50% fortunately Chrissy‘s ex-husband being in the army had some connections and knew a lawyer who was able to push the annulment through.

Interesting video on culture and sometimes culture clashes... I grew up in what's called Cajun country and my grandparents, both my mom's and dad's side spoke very little English. Cajun French was the language my uncles and aunts spoke as well as all the older folks....it's basically my generation that learned English as a first language so communication was difficult at times, we learned many words but few were fluent in it and our parents didn't want us to learn, it's a dead language they would tell us.... We grew up poor, maybe not province poor, we had wood or cement floors, but not much better and we were happy, we didn't know what we didn't have because nobody else we knew had it either...... sticks, mops, broomes, pieces of wood and our imagination were toys and entertainment.....

I know how you feel Rob.i live in Costa Rica now 23years. My girlfriend was 49 year's younger then me .the whole world turned against me. ROB she was 10 years with me and never fight or 1 argument honest to God. When she turn 33 she lay down on kitchen floor and died. We didn't know she had a brain tumor. I have been very sad because of the love we had . I worried that I would die first I made planes so she would live good when I die. I haven't dated since she died the hurt won't go away. I plan to go to the philippines but I need to sell a lot of property in Costa Rica first. If I move to philippines I'll try to meet you guys ok. Don’t worry about the dinner tables of Europe etc . With corruption, crime, drugs, racial division to name a few it means that western countries such as the US are failing as societies. That is why China will overtake the US as the world’s dominant country. So be happy and proud of what you have in the Philippines. You are both very lucky to have each other.

I have a boring house in the west valley and it is worth 500k.
I spent almost a month in a small village outside Ormoc a few years ago.
One thing I noticed is how all the children were outside and playing; playing nonstop.
It reminded me of my youth (as I am sure it reminds you of your youth), a life without electronics controlling everything you live for.
I told my wife in PH, "When we have children, no electronics while the sun is up unless it is related to school."
I want my children to have that experience of running around outside and enjoy life.

I just seen this now although its 4months old,,, I to married a far younger woman (Not Filipino) and sadly it didn't work out but it was nothing to do with age difference. In fact I would certainly recommend and advise any older male to marry or partner someone a lot younger in age,,, It will keep you a younger at heart and more than likely more mobile,,, So if your already thinking about it,,, then do it. As long as its not a western woman. You both have so mutch to learn and give to one another.

While her earlier life may have been different than most and her privileges far apart from others, in the end, it makes her who she is today. ...Personally, I've pondered whether or not I could make the adjustment I would be asking a younger partner to make. I know I would lose friends at my Country Club, who would be saying all of the things you have echoed in your concerns. I told a couple of my friends that I was thinking of going to the Philippines, to meet up with a person I had been communicating with who was 40 years younger than me. The immediate remarks were are you crazy? She is younger than your daughter. Now, when I see them at the CC bar, they seem to just say hi; there's not a lot of small talk anymore! ...I have everything: a gated community, a very large home, and I'm financially set for life, but I'm not happy! I want someone with whom I can share what I have. I could live a meager lifestyle, but why should I when I can live a better lifestyle and also provide a better lifestyle for a partner and her immediate family. ...Rob, you may have struggled with some of these same thoughts. ...My concern is how do I find someone like Crissy. Rob, I genuinely believe Chrissy loves you and will stand by you forever. ...Rob, I really appreciate Chrissy asking you the 20 questions and for allowing us to see where she gained some of her perspectives on life.... I had similar thoughts as Rob did, but I could relate to that environment. My paternal grandparents were sharecroppers in rural Alabama as late as 1977. I remember staying at their sharecropper's shack, which they didn't own, until my dad and a couple of his sisters bought them a house. It was only a few rooms, maybe four, I think. There was no indoor plumbing. They had a hand pump to get drinking water from the well. They had an outhouse. The house was truly something from a bygone Era. My grandmother cooked on a large cast iron wood burning stove. The house only had that stove and fireplaces for heat. No AC. We had to bathe in a large wash tub, which I hated because we had to use the same water as the adult after they washed. That was disgusting. They did have electricity, but their phone line was a party line. Which was one phone line for about four different families spread out over a couple of miles. The phone rang in everyone's house at the same time. Everyone one could eavesdrop on each other's conversations, but they made it all work. Camber pots and all. I looked at it like camping as well. My older siblings hated it and refused to stay when my parents left. I did, though. It was much different from my life in NYC. It is important to note that their temperament was much like the philipino people, and they were always happy. Those family members are now some of the most educated, successful, and sophisticated people I know. They value family and education above all. They are business owners, teachers, lawyers, and engineers now. So it doesn't surprise me how Chrissy can exist comfortably in both spaces. You have a gem on your hands, Rob. One thing did surprise me, Chrissy mentioned she had an ex-husband. If so, you guys need to take her out of the country so that she can get a divorce. It could spell trouble for Rob as it is a crime to have an intimate relationship with a married person in the Philippines. So I hope she just called him her ex-husband to keep things simple. Stay connected, guys. I love your love story.

Yes the fearers are there But ! I know it's a bit base but you are both getting what you want from this relationship. There is love there we can see it and that's what counts at the end of the day. If the kitchen is open (no ceiling); how do they cook food if it is raining? I would love to find a Filipina girlfriend who has a wonderful personality and open to changing conditions such as your wife. There's definitely some "culture shock" when you move to a 3rd world country. Personally, after a relatively easy life in the West, I would find the change to be challenging.

Chrissy‘s child is visiting every month and will live with us full-time soon Chrissy younger sister, five years old and Chrissy’s 17-year-old brother will have an opportunity in school they may not have had previously, and Chrissy‘s mother is being provided opportunities. I will not discuss here, in terms of enrichment and culture, being exposed to a partner whose lived and experienced a western culture and traveled the world, and can share can be perceived to be a benefit by many

This man is more concerned with his luxuries than how his lovely wife felt. She was opening her heart and soul to the world and to him, unfortunately, he just doesn't get it does he. Perhaps he will fall on hard times one day and then he will be humbled. He is just a city boy, take his electricity and internet from him and he would never survive.

OMG.... I am just LMAO as I watch Chrissy ambush Rob and how he is trying to smile and hide how uncomfortable he is with her telling him she wants to ask him 20 questions. I've NEVER seen Rob so uncomfortable before. But he settled down quickly and gave thoughtful honest answers about what he felt about Chrissy's former lifestyle.
The one thing I notice about this video [and it is obvious in all their previous videos as well, but in this video, Chrissy is a lot more open and vulnerable than in other videos] is how deeply and genuinely you both love each other and how good you are for each other. It is often said and desired to find someone who both compliments you and completes you and you two do that for each other and it comes across clearly in this video. Bless both of you and keep loving each other so much.
