    I think that these are a great idea regardless of vehicle weight - if they save one life it’s worth it.

      Why not some flashing lights and sirens as well? Some bubble wrap for the cyclist, mandatory 5 mph limits, cameras on every panel on your van. A police escort maybe.
      It’s a moronic idea and won’t save any lives. No cyclist will even look at the stickers never mind take heed of them. many trucks now have flashing signs on the back of them that activate when turning left, they are even shaped like a bicycle, cyclists just ignore them and cut up their near side anyway.
      We now have a culture of telling cyclists it’s everyone else’s responsibility to look after them not there’s, so they won’t even put lights on their bikes or wear hi viz clothing. They are far more interested in what footage they can put on RUclips from the camera they bought instead of lights than making themselves visible.
      I was told by a road safety minister than nothing will be done to hinder the increase in cycling, and that includes any legislation that makes it any more expensive or inconvenient than it currently is, increasing the number of cyclists is the only priority. Everyone else will be made to bend over backwards to accommodate cyclists.🙄🙄. The response to the number of cyclist deaths in London was not to educate cyclists about the dangers of trucks but to make trucks have cameras and radars and windows in the lower section of their doors, all at hauliers expense. Cyclists are the most vulnerable road users yet take absolutely no responsibility for their own actions, they jump red lights, hang off the back of trucks, undertake stationary traffic, cut through stationary traffic, come up the inside of stationary trucks and sit in their blindspots yet it’s everyone else that has to look after them🙄🙄

      If the people can’t see a 3.5+ tonne vehicle, do you think they will notice a sticker the size of a book?

    An urban area will be anywhere where you pass a sign displaying the town’s name, the same sign that indicates that you have entered a 50 kmh zone.

    Do you think it's worth displaying "Angles Mort" stickers on your motorhome even if your van isn't over 3.5tn? I just wondered whether the absence of such sticker might prompt Police to stop you to check your weight. Thanks

    Thank you for this Kat. I've ordered ours via your link only £3.99 + £2.99 delivery. They will look pretty naff on the side of the moho but rather that than a hefty fine

    Hi” I think I was in a room at Peterborough show ground and you was on stage!! Any way” we are now in 2023,, do I still need these stickers? And yes I’m over 3.5T I’m 5T😮 we are going to Germany in June, 2023 but” of course “” we land in France first, so” does this law still stand? We followed your advice on the German green emissions sticker, hopefully it will be through our letter box in the next few weeks! Any way, you are not only a pretty girl, don’t tell my beautiful wife of 47 years, but you have a beautiful channel too, clear comforting and as I see it, based on experience. I’m a countryman myself so , I can’t read, I can’t write, but I can drive a tractor type of common sense chap. A yocker, honestly I’m human. Great channel just found it, after Peterborough 2023. Ho’ you may have a video explaining the cost? I’ve not found it yet, but”” what would it cost me to give up my £63000 wage, and run wild in Europe but keep my property as well? My rate are £2500 per annum and I’m 60, so no state pension 😢 or how can I make a few quid while I’m travelling?? Videos!!

      Yes, you still need the stickers, but only in built up areas in France. So if you’re just landing & driving straight into Belgium you don’t need them. And I’m working on a few more videos about living & income so watch this space!

    hi thank you for a very informative video, i would just like to point out that if you tow a trailer, like you and i do, (i also carry a motorcycle ! ) that your gross weight should include that, and is known as your train weight, so if you are normally under the 3,500kg, be wary as that trailer may push you over the limit, all the best and safe travels from a suffolk dweller !

    Hello, I’m a Welsh man living in France with a MH 5t and displaying the stickers, ugly things, but now they are talking about all camping cars to display them?
    We’ve missed seeing English Camper’s in France, see you soon.

    ‘How are they going to get round it?’ Stop your vehicle and inspect the weight on the registration document, I suggest.

    For trucks in Europe it's fast approaching the point that they are required to have so many stickers on the back that nobody can mentally process the sea of stickers all in the time available (ie at a quick glance whilst driving) and as such are becoming counterproductive!

  • @Jabber-ig3iw
    @Jabber-ig3iw 3 года назад

    Currently in France, haven’t seen a single motorhome with these stickers on, not even the ones that are blatantly obviously over 3.5 tonnes. I bought some but decided not to put them on until I’d seen the lay of the land in France, like I say nobody has them on, no need to panic.

    Glad I am not doing Europe this year ( you all know why ) so hopefully this will be all sorted by next year .
    Where to put if required and if anybody comes up with a better option than a sticker

    Thanks but can you do an investigation on CMC sites in UK? I've just discovered/realised I cannot book either of the 2 nearest sites to London as I would have to pay the idiot mayor each day for my 6.3m 2019 Autotrail as well as the site charges. Presumably this will also apply similarly to cities/towns across the whole of UK!

    Thanks for the video it is quite interesting to note lots of people do not know about it, or don’t want to know about it I work at Newhaven port and see lots going over without them. I am going over in November and have an issue where to put the rear one as it will not be seen with the bikes on the back unless I stick it in the holder with the red/white chevrons, also does it need to be flat as was thinking of putting it on the corner of the van.

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  Год назад

      I know. It’s badly thought out for trailers. But it does need to be flat

    ?

    Been in France for a week now. Every truck, bus and coach has them, not one single Motorhome, I asked a French motorhomer on the pitch next to us about them and he told me they are just for commercial vehicles.

    Hi Kat, this seems odd as the blind spot on a RHD is on the left and visa versa for LHD. Was this not brought out with LHD in mind? Thanks.

  • @simonprime5541

    Kat - Have you any thoughts about trailers? Thinking that some people will be towing flat trailers (car/motorcycle) with no place for stickers. The only reference I can find is "towed goods exceeding 3.5t... Although I wouldn't want to argue that point with a French policeman !!

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  3 года назад

      There’s a section on the post (linked in video) about where to place them if you have a trailer.

  • @Pugwash.

    It sounds badly thought out. I have a vehicle below 3.5T with massive blind spot behind it, so I fitted two cameras. Just as well I don't need the stickers.

    Seems a bit of a mess to me, "any vehicle capable of being driven over 3.5T" applies to most cars, my Mondeo has a Gross train weight of 3.9T, which means it is "capable of being driven over 3.5T

      I haven’t seen any trailers with it on. It seems to be on the main vehicle. I guess you can if you are worried. We tow motorbikes so doesn’t work 🙃
