It’s the extra little touches that make the most impact, isn’t it? I absolutely hate hearing rattles when we drive. Wouldn’t be without a stash of elastic bands and anti slip mats ☺️. Thank you, this was a really helpful video 👏🏻👏🏻
I have a touring caravan (trailer). I'm sure everything rattles, but it doesn't disturb me at all in the Mercedes! I will be sure to remember this video if I change to a van!
That is some really good info!! It looked a little simple to do...but time consuming. Do like the idea...if we ever rent a caravan in New Zealand we will do some of the things you did
I would LOVE to rent a van in NZ- that's the absolute top of my bucket list but we're waiting for our daughter to finish school so we can go for a couple of months. Can't wait!
As a solo motorhomer, rattles are very difficult to pinpoint as I don't have a second person to send back to find the source while driving. A quick turn of the head and activate the bat-like sonar is the best I can manage. Two tricky ones were the grid on top of the stove (I just take it off when driving) and another which took ages to work out - the main skylight wasn't wound down quite enough, so jiggled on its mounts.
Interesting video what we do with the microwave is leave the roller ring in put a square of non slip matting over the ring and glass plate on top will not move and no rattles hope this helps
Another great video.. The image seemed a bit wavey at the start, almost as if there was a problem with image stabilisation, not sure what you were using. We use those containers for tea, coffee and sugar. I thought it was funny that when you moved the camera, you were saying about the non grip stuff :-) I knew you were talking about the non slip stuff. I like the idea of the paper plates between your melamine bowls. We put our microwave plate in a drawer between some magazines. With regards to storage separators etc, I have used some of Dan Trudgian’s idea of Foam board (available from hobbycraft).. It’s fab. He did a RUclips video using it..
Yes, I noticed that too- no idea why, but I'll check my next videos to make sure it doesn't happen again. Not seen the Dan Trudgian video- I'll go hunt it down. Thanks for the info.
We have a 1998 motorhome and are new to this all. We use tea towels etc. What's really surprising is the manufacturers don't do something about this. There's nothing worse than driving along with the cooker rattling.
We're looking to get or self-convert a Camper/Moho soon and this will be invaluable advice once we have one. It seems that we need to budget for additional tea towels though ;-)
Haha- I'm a big fan of cheap teatowels everywhere!!! 😂So exciting to hear your future plans- let me know what you decide to go with. 👍I'm sure whatever you choose will bring you loads of brilliant adventures!
Yeah a boaty person, always refer to the boat as a caravan with engines. Our van is always packed as if we’re going out in a choppy Solent. Great advice though.
Previously just turned up the stereo, but the oven in the new m/h makes a right racket, thos split ridged tubes look just the job, where did you get those, many thanks Geoff
I weave tea towels between pots, pans, plates and cups in overhead cupboards, but haven't bothered with the bottom drawer containing cutlery, plates and bowls, never heard a thing. However with Scottish pot holes, the big block Chevy 454 making it's noise under the dog house beside me, the generator making it's noise in the basement, the central air conditioning making it's noise, the televisions, my noisy daughters, the washing machine (often UK electric hook ups are only 5A, making on site washing difficult), really a rattle stands no chance of an opportunity to be annoying...
YAY! Welcome to motorhome life!! The fridge is tough. We try to avoid buying glass bottles, which clink and we try to use plastic boxes to hold smaller items like cheese etc which move around. Our fridge isn't very big, so we don't have trouble at all until we're trying to cool the beer!! :)
I think those were from the Range (UK). Or possibly B & M. Hope you're UK based or that won't be much good to you- although I'm sure Amazon will do something similar.
The very best way to stop rattles in your motorhome is to completely avoid travelling in the UK! Off the ferry and instantly felt like we were riding a cattle grid!
@@WanderingBird oh I see! I was tidying up and listening and I heard you say "we have plastic plates for when we can be bothered to wash up" and I gasped!!! Lol. I stopped what I was doing and replayed the clip.. you did say that but I just looked again and they're clearly paper. Apologise... I take it all back x
So much work to stop the rattling? I would put all that shit in the rubbish and I would not tolerate any bloody flowers inside, even plastic , what is it? is a motorhome? , ready for the adventure and to explore? no no no , she make it look and eye sore domestic device on wheels . what is next ,.are you going to hang your nickers to dry in the wind outside?
Brilliant
Lots of tips there !
We are just starting to buy things & fill our van .
Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks for stopping the rattles!
Some simple suggestions that people can try even if they are already ‘out on the road’.

You're welcome- glad it helps. My husband hates the rattles so we've got pretty good at stopping as many as we can!!
Another great video and tips !! Rattles are soooo anoying - bit like flappy bits when your riding the bikes !!!
Oh my goodness- so true!! 😂

very nice drone views in your canal. regards from Brasil!!
Hi- how is Brasil this time of year?

Speedy solution, a good pair of ear defenders does the trick 😁

Iron Maiden on the Stereo up to 11 solves most rattles :-)
Very true! I find that solves most problems...!! 😂
Sadly my beloved hasn't seen the light yet, so you're tips on Tea towels and non slip will come in very handy..
Great video! Thanks! We seem to get lots of rattling from our Remis blinds. Any thoughts on what to do to resolve?

What’s that non rattle stuff your using and where do you get it DP from please
We collect our first MH next Thursday and am grateful for your tips. How is your fridge organised with regard to rattles?

Thank you. It's been 5 months since we ordered our 'van, it's been the longest 5 months of our lives. Hope that the rest of our lives go that slow LOL
for you stove just get some heat proof silikon add some dots let them dry put the rack back on
The most annoying thing is the actual deep oven rattle that nobody can find. Any ideas?
In my van it’s the actual bottom of the oven. Drives me mad 🙈
Tea towels stop all rattles. Failing that a sledgehammer.
Where did you buy the containers with the holes in please?
Which ones hon?
The ones with the condiments in etc.
I think those were from the Range (UK). Or possibly B & M. Hope you're UK based or that won't be much good to you- although I'm sure Amazon will do something similar.
Plastic everything seems like the best plan
Things only rattle when you’re moving, so why not save all the hassle and just turn up the radio or wear ear plugs!
How to stop rattles for good......Let the tyres down....

HaHa- love that! But better than Belgium!! 😂
Hi x.
Hi! 😀
how to stop rattles?? QUIT BUYING CHEAP MOTORHOMES. EZ
Disappointed in the plastic plate comment! 👎🏼🌏👎🏼
Ha- we're not throwing them out and re-using them!! We've had the same ones for years. And it's paper... not plastic...
