You really need to stop using a form of warp stabilization on your anamorphic footage. It makes it look misaligned and/or like you shot with the anamorphic element freely rotating in front of the camera. I know you have good information in here but the disturbing quality in almost all of your footage subverts the quality of your information.
It also gives a misleading impression of what someone could expect when shooting with any of these adapters. I'd never shoot with an adapter that resulted in footage that looks this "wonky".

This is an older video, and so are the others, so have you isolated these factors out now? I came across these because I picked up a 16D and was looking to see if it was worth acquiring the mount and supporting hardware while I get my SLR Magic serviced. Anyhow, thanks for the video series.

I getting so confused with these anamorphic options. Watched a ton of your videos now. Along with many other youtubers and online reviews.
I just can't decide where to start.
Ideally want a anamorphic solution that I can use with my gh4 (would be nice if it worked on my a7s too... but not as important)
I have a mixture of EF lenses with speedbooster and m43 lenses.
What would you suggest as a good entry level (sub£1000) option for me?

This has been my first anamorphic lens, and it is my go to anamorphic adapter has optical qualities are unmatched for the price.
I got mine for 125€. Well I got two projection lenses, plus one with the ultrastar attached. So I guess I got it even cheaper !

Am I understanding right, that Isco Ultra Star didn't work with lens wider 70mm without heavy vignetting? And as this is x2 adapter, then 70mm lens will have 35mm horizontal FOV on full frame. Correct me if I'm wrong.

TITO HELP! I bought this 2x lens adapter and I am having issues desqueezing my footage in FCPX. I shoot on the GH4 in 4x3 mode. Each 4:3 file is 3328x2496. If I want to have a 2.40 aspect ration as final export I make my project have (1920(2x)) 3840 by (3840/2.40) 1600. This resolution should give my final export a 2.40 aspect ratio. HOWEVER, when I go to the X scale portion of fcpx and input 200% like you said, this puts my footage way outside the 3840x1600 screen project. It fits exactly around 180%, why is this?>?? My spatial conform is set to fit FYI. So, in conclusion, how do I know when my squeezed footage is properly desqueezed, and I am not just settling with an eyeballed finished product. I wish there was a button in FCPX that I could hit that desqueezed my footage on a 1080 timeline.. Thanks, Tito!

Hey Tito, thank you for all your awesome revives and stuff u r doing!
Isco ultra star (or schnider) usually comes with projection lens attached. Sometimes it's 42mm, 55mm, 80mm, 185mm and here's a question:
Is it possible to get deal with it?
I mean, maybe we can take some kind of old lens, take out the glass and attach aperture and camera mount to this isco native lens? It will need some alignment but in general it could works? and no diopters needed to focus..

Hi Tito. Great reviews you do here on ur channel. Really congratulations! I was wondering if you could tell what is the best and sharpest anamorphic lens, this Isco Ultra Star or the Schneider Cine 2x. I own the FM lens so i dont have to worry about double focusing. We've been told that we cant go down from 50mm on a taking lens so we have to use 50, 85, 130 or so mm but not wide-angles or we will get vigneting. Hope you can help clear this up for us (we live remote from the US and not much info on our side of the planet) and waiting to have ur prompt and kind reply. Thank you, Tito. Please stop tinkering with your shutter speed. It should always be double of your frame rate, hence 1/50 if you aren't using a higher FPS for slow motion. You can increase your shutter speed only in rare cases: When shooting cars and other fast moving objects or when shooting blank guns to film the muzzle flash appropriately...

@@AnamorphicOnABudget Depth of Field didn't seem very essential in those shots. You could have used an aperture of f22...but I've had that issue myself, thus I understand.
From what I read though, a $200 ND filter is only 5-10% better than a $20 ND. When you have the money, pretending the best quality is necessary. But no one is going to notice if your cheap ND is subtracting sharpness and contrast from the footage...
