Been doing this for years, I only see the exercises as a way to improve the way I sing ! Learning the song correctly is the key !

the whole purpose of lessons is to be able to sing music you enjoy. I used to take lessons and everyone only taught me exercises. I got bored and still couldn't sing well and would eventually quit. I finally found a teacher that taught singing by singing your favorite songs... and it was the best way to learn singing.

This video helps a lot. I started taking vocal lessons and I realized the way I tried to do huge mixed belts while trying to sing Dimash was completely wrong so we went over the technique in lesson then after the lesson I tried to sing his song again and fell back into bad habit.

i was practicing taeyeon's "I" (it has high notes) without applying the tricks that i learned for mixed voice, high notes and stability etc. i was too immersed in sounding like the singer instead of singing how it works for me and ended up straining my voice. i wanted to impress my mother, instead fell down coughing from the pain. so yea, applying what you learnt is the right way to sing, and I'm so glad you made a video about it.

You mentioned learning things from specific songs... that worked for me once by accident. I was singing along with Brian May (accompanied by Kerri Ellis) when it got to her part...wait, what?! I was raising my soft palate! Truly a breakthrough for me.

This guy is great on packing up the info in a direct way rather than the imagery other good coaches use. I like both but hands down he is amazing bringing the concepts down without sounding like a wizard talking about the exercises straight sending you to fantasy land without a reason for it. The only videos I dislike of him is when he had that straight white wall set up with the synth in the middle, I always clicked off of it cause it looked like an ad for a learning site rather than a youtuber teaching cool stuff. I guess you have to play with the format you are at, otherwise if we get an off feeling we might not connect with the lesson. He has prettified his room to look more warmth and personal and I am loving it. This new name sounds dope too.

Your videos are so helpful! I have started learning only 1 month ago and that's my exact issue. I was happy to see I started hitting right notes on scales but then I sang and recorded myself and it was scarry how sooo unbelievably flat I still am 🙈

Apply the exercise on the song it self. Replace the lyric with a 'ma' for example which builds resonance.

You mean I am doing mixed voice exercises right now so I will now start singing songs in ma ? I am not sure It will help but I will try. Can you tell me how much time it will take to see progress of doing mixed voice exercises ?

That means first know the basics of exercises, do warm up try a song, study that song ,explore new techniques then practice that, finding a perfect exercise for that, and just improve. Right?

Will you also help people decipher what their vocal type is (Alto, mezzo, soprano etc)? And is this a one time price or is it a month cost?

It helps if they just feel the song, the melody and words too.Otherwise it sounds too much like musical theatre.
