Faron Young is hands down one of my favorite country artists. He and I only shared this earth together for 1 year but what a blessing to be able to know all of this music all of these years later. My favorite country artist of all time!
Superb top notch performance by Faron and his band, the "Young Sheriff and his Deputies". The name came from a country music barely plotted film Faron was in that were regionally popular late 50's to early 60's. Faron, like the Wilburn Brothers, got his start in Webb Pierce's band. Sorry his life ended by suicide. Love the beautiful Grammar guitar of Porter's that Faron used too. Relatively few were made and now in 2022 it's hens teeth trying to find one. Best acoustic for C&W ever made, (a Mosrite from Bakersfield a pretty close 2nd).
Faron's in fine voice here. Was there something in the water in the late '60s? Elvis, Jerry Lee, George Jones, Merle Haggard ... even scraggly old Willie 😝 were in peak vocal form in this period.
@@wm631 and that is probably the greatest live album in the history of country music and one of the greatest albums in the history of country music. And Emmylou Harris agrees with me in that regard.
After the British Invasion when country signers were throwing away steel and fiddle, adding strings to recording, Faron tried to keep the traditional going having twin or triple fiddles and prominent steel. I can't remember him using a string section in his recordings.
It is sad. My husband had the kind of personality Faron had and he also had an alcohol problem and took his own life. No we never know what someone is going through.

I was born many years after Faron's lifetime, and know the feeling.
Faron died on my 40th birthday. My mom loved Faron and Ray Price so I was introduced long time ago to these awesome talents.
@@mw7584 yup. Faron was an inspiration for me. 1975 I loved Faron , I was 10. Four in the morning was my favorite song at the time.

Wow, now that's country music ❤🎉
Faron one of the best!!
As good. As it gets
I was 9 years old when this show was on in 1969, a lot memories.
I was 11 and used to watch it with my Dad. Those are great memories. We liked the Beatles and Porter Wagoner. LOL.
God I Miss these days! I Miss you Dad!
One of my top 6 voices ever, Faron, Ray, Jim, Marty, Eddy, & Slim Whitman.
Great time in life. To have them times again
In love with this show from a 24 years old brazilian in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.
So glad to know the show made it all the way to you!
This is Real Country music.
Dolly looks so fresh and so pretty here. Lovely young voice .. 💋👠💄
That guitar strap really makes his suit POP!
I love the opening songs almost as much as the whole show
Faron young was a very artistic singer... different.

Faron and Porter don’t get much better!!
Brings back a lot of memories!
And RIP Porter Wagoner too
Love Faron's singing!
Buck Trent on the electric banjo!! Damn!
Faron Young..the Young Sheriff...too bad he left us in the wrong way.
Is there a right way to die? Unfortunately faron felt that his way was the only way for him. Not all black and white I'm afraid
How good is Faron Young!!!
At country music or comedy? He seemed to want to do more of the latter on this show.
Porter Wagoner & Dolly hot damn I'm a child again!

MANY FINE COUNTRY RECORDINGS EMPLOYED STRINGS SECTIONS.
GUITARS AND BANJOS HAVE STRINGS.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH STRINGS?😖😫😩
He looked so happy.
And funny!
So sad !

The best.
Always liked it when Porter wore the red boots!!
I saw Faron per form at Little Fish honky tonk just weeks before Hurricane Camille in 1969 blew South Louisiana away.
Dolly!
Buck Trent with the Lloyd Christmas haircut.
Doug Jernigan on pedal steel.
Thank u i was fightin to remember his name 😄
Excellent steel man. He was still pretty young back then. Wonder if he's still playing. Hope so.

Don was Dolly Parton's business and personal manager up to the day he passed away...

dolly...….…….
Too much silliness.
Faron Young had a mean streak in him. Talking about punching people in the mouth and whipping them. Not the first time I've heard him say this.
aye, well the world may well need a good washing but god promised that wouldn't happen again and sent a rainbow to say so! - therefore there is no washing happening anytime soon!
Great old Days of the Porter Wagoner Show...and Speck Rhodes on base fiddle! Life was Good....
Faron told horrible lies about Patsy Cline AFTER she was dead...so I hold no respect for his ego or for him
How good is Faron Young!!!
Omg Faron knocked it out of the park. Love that song and his voice. Who compares to that these days?
