I've always thought that electric motor propulsion was custom made for snowmobiles. Think of how many loud turbine three and four cylinder 2-stroke engines screaming through the mountains have brought down avalanches on our friends and family members and killed them.
First of all the only 3 and 4 cylinder sleds you’re going to see anymore are four strokes....so there goes that “screaming 2 stroke” theory ( FYI “turbine” sleds are actually quieter). And second, how many of your family members, close friends or hell even anyone you know has this happened to? I could go on for paragraphs at how ridiculous your comment is. And do some research on sound causing avalanches. But please let us know the number of people you personally know that have been killed in the situation you’re describing. And be honest. Go back to humping bunnies, just make sure your not standing right under one of those slopes your talking about when a screamin 2 stroke goes by and brings an avalanche down on you. Unreal
Unless they come up with some kind of battery that holds massive charge, isn't affected by cold temps, and can maintain the same performance throughout the entire charge this isn't something I see working. Modern 2 strokes are only increasing in power, reliability and fuel economy.

Anyone do any deep Alpine riding on one of these yet..? They say 140 km likely back East Flat riding…! I rarely ride more then 50 km in the Alpine… However that’s riding from Sea Level to 6000 feet… Anyone know how much battery this will go through Alpine riding in deep powder…?
Thanks in advance;
They took the deep snow models to revel stoke last year and they did really well!
@@outlawmotorsportskamloops6891 did really well? be more specific.
What happens when you sink it? Is electrocution a possibility? 120 volts is enough to kill a man. I’m guessing these are running close to that as some electric bikes are 100v.
They actually work even under water, look up the video. 💧
Should have raced it against that Polaris.
When you can charge the battery as fast as can fill a gas tank then you have something until then just a sideshow
I want to test one of your new slides
Great idea but the Teslas have proved not so good in winter. Plus loud pipes save lives 😀 Just my 2 cents.
noise is easy to make if you need it. nice to be able to not have it when you don't want it.
Hop your not riding in my area ,loud pipes are not welcome here ,for me experience save lives, not pipes
I have a stock muffler. I’m curious as to where you live. Teslas in Minnesota have proved a bad idea.Electricity is not very reliable in cold temps.
@@paddyg56472 I live in Québec,I read they’ve got heaters for batteries,is it true or not?Years after years snowmobile federation fight against pipes in trail here in Québec,we lost a lot of rights of way ,complained about noise. That why electric is good for the sports we love, have a great season be safe 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
They look cool but didn’t see them in any real deep powder in this video ,
Where do I buy one?
good luck
They guy with the go pro must be a beginner
Least it's Not in the SLUSH bowl this time..but 130km.. isn't far enough for us in the WOODS and Does the range degrade with colder temps?? And Where are we gonna charge it.. When the gas stations are 140 Miles Not KM far apart.. Most of us are still carrying gas after 30 years. You'd think the Sled manufactures would up the Range with larger gas tanks.
No
Get as much " throttle taped" time on that thing vs 11 gallons of gas? No way to extend a ride day like having a gas can along
stop the bus .... is that guy wearing a mask out snowmobiling @12:55 ?
This actually looks fine. Yes, I'd still prefer my big fuel drinking 800, but this is cool too. It looks like it still lifts the skis and it's still maneuverable. And range isn't that important for me. I'd still take a 2 stroke, but I wouldn't be mad if we were forced to switch to this
I like everyone else want to see this machine operated in -10f/-23c in 2+ feet of fresh snow of mostly wide open throttle. I'd like to know what the battery range is when ridding in these conditions. I feel as though the only market for these will be at Ski lodges out in the Rockies for ppl to rent and ride maybe a 40 mile loop.
At 3:17 you hear him say that thing is crazy, then off in the distance further up the trial you hear a 2Stroke singing. That's what he was calling crazy. Not that lil rc toy he's on
Exactly
New sleds are running at the price of cheaper cars at this point.... cant imagine the price tag on these.
Put it in the pow and watch it sink batterys are not light
Ekko with the large battery pack ain’t that heavy. 266kg / 586lbs ready to ride ain’t that far away from a ICE deep snow machine with a full tank of gas.
the back end seams to be pretty heavy
what happened to ride right, the guy in blue rides left side on left corner...no cred....
Just takes some time to get it to full charge … I can fill up my sled in 5min. That’s walking and paying and taking off .
But I do want one just to have one !
Batteries and the cold don't match well. At least not for loong
Now I know why people make face to face accident at 70 mph !!! 1:22
I've always thought that electric motor propulsion was custom made for snowmobiles. Think of how many loud turbine three and four cylinder 2-stroke engines screaming through the mountains have brought down avalanches on our friends and family members and killed them.
No more than skiers/snowboarders killed.
noise triggering avalnches is a myth
Unreal
@@specforged5651 for that one I agree.👍🏼
Not my idea of mountain riding. Like to see you get that 700,lb. slug out of a tree hole!
Unless they come up with some kind of battery that holds massive charge, isn't affected by cold temps, and can maintain the same performance throughout the entire charge this isn't something I see working. Modern 2 strokes are only increasing in power, reliability and fuel economy.
What we could do hydrogen fule cells would be amazing.
I keep messaging Taiga motors to see when and where Demo days will be and I keep getting ignored by Taiga Motors 🤷♂️

The silence is so weird
god that gas snowmobile sounds obnoxious compared to the electrics. cvts sound terrible.
A mask?..on top of the mountain?..seriously?
Hahaha!
Wtf guys? When are you guys going to test these machines and some real snow. Get the hell out of Ontario and Quebec and come out the British Columbia. I've been waiting my whole life for an electric snowmobile to come out.
I just want to see what that thing can do in real snow up in the mountains and if it's as awesome as I think it's going to be I'll take one at least
That always make me laugh 😂 come on you got what in BC ? Mountain riding, circle around all days,up and down seriously.Quebec got more than 30 000 km of groom trail interconnected with all northern city where you got all facilities you whant. Here you can ride for month and never have to put your sled In a trailer to go to the other city’s.For mountain riding we got Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean,Gaspésie and for the brave, the Torngat mountain chain can satisfy all your wish.Do some research before writing about a country that you don’t know.Quebec got the biggest trail network in the world.
That looks like BC
@@susanhenderson2322 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
Take a moment and look at the trail map before telling that
Oh man that seems so fucking awesome man. Out in the wilderness ripping like a tornado on fire without the deafening scream of some stupid gas powered engine driving everybody including the fucking rider nuts
The sound of a two stroke is one of the best sounds in the world
Nothing says pillow biter like electric sled.
Trail ride ha
Trail ride in, then ride the spring snow!
Like a big remote control skidoo for adults lol
Exactly!! So much fun!
