      dude. this is likely 1 of 2 functioning production prototypes they have. They need to use it for media, investors and just general testing. I'm sure you can jump on it and hang off the side while going full throttle on a curve and have fun with it.. but when a start up has limited funds and is trying to move in to production.. prototypes are precious.

      @@PowerModzOfficial it looked like it pushed really bad. My VK pushes in wet snow as well but not that bad. I’m thinking they didn’t have the skid set up correctly and it needs more ski pressure? The actual snowmachine part of the Taiga is what gives me the most concern. Making a good handling sled is not easy. I don’t have the impression that the folks a Taiga are super experienced with the chassis side as compared to the batteries and electronic side. I’d feel better if one of the big OEM’s partnered with them and you’d have an established dealer network and a chassis (like Polaris) you knew would ride and handle well. Starting at $15,000 is too big of a price for me to gamble on. I’m sold on the concept of an electric sled and am looking forward to watching how they progress along.

    Hoping that eventually the snowmobile will have a quieter sound like the Tesla. The snowmobile sound is one of the most destructive environmental sounds in winter. It frightens animals and birds, it is horrible for the ears and is one of the most unpleasant sounds in existence. The rush people get from it is not the heavy rumble but rather the deadening quiet when you finally turn it off. Lousy for hearing later in life when you keep doing that over and over to your ears. Bravo to the electric- I am not suggesting total silence like the Tesla because that would be dangerous to the forest life.

    This would be perfect for a ski resort out West. No power loss from altitude, and easy access to power for charging/battery heating. Bonus is it's not noisy, which would turn off patrons seeking peace and quiet. If it had a quieter track drive it would be even more impressive. This would also be great for Yellowstone Park. Hard for tree huggers to complain about it.

    Be nice to see a test of this cold soaked at -30 pulling a loaded sleigh to see it's performance and range. Any option for a 20" wide track or 8" wide skis? Only sled I've heard that's quieter then an Arctic cat with a 660 4 stroke in it.

    Louie you seemed to Enjoy the Nomad. When they did the unveiling I do recall you saying it had a resemblance to the Rev platform and the Rep with you confirmed that today. Where is powermodz located. I am on the fence of starting my own shop in Cape Breton but need to touch base with the people who have built a business like yourself to inquire what mods do the consumer look for and the expectations out there of a shop similar to what your doing. Thanks guys

    This is cool! But i could definitely see it being left accidentally on a problem. Since there is no idle sound I could see forgetting to kill it. The throttle could definitely be accidentally bumped by someone or a kid. Maybe they could put an optional beep in the settings menu, different than a reverse beep of course.

    The real test will be if this can be repowered in the backcountry by some method and how it works in extreme cold conditions. Places like Alaska have a way of breaking things down. I doubt at the current time (no pun intended) that the battery doesnt last long in steep country.

    • @PowerModzOfficial
      @PowerModzOfficial  3 года назад

      It does actually - it has a battery heater on it. They have sold many of these units to ski hills. Cheers

      First off, being a 154 its not going to turn real well. Second, the snow conditions don't help at all. I haven't ridden it, but even a RMK 155 isn't going to turn real well unless its layed over on its side.
      Its not about the handling, its a functional electric snowmobile. Thats whats important.

    The Snow Looks very mushy/Wet? and the Sled looks a little bit Light on the Front end, maybe front of the track up, and the skis a little farther down, in these conditions? Quite other than the track noise!
