This is the exact point i noticed in the debate between Kramnik and Danya. Whenever Daniel wanted to prove something, Kramnik moved to the next point without allowing him to. It was clear from the start that he didnt want to be proven wrong.
Another thing that Kramnik categorically does not understand in this case is specificity. When you test for something (e.g. in medicine) you hope for a high sensitivity (when the problem is there the test sounds the alarm) and for a high specificity (when the problem is not there, the test does not sound an alarm). None of the accusations by Kramnik have a high specificity. In other words, he has not found a single behavior that would be even remotely specific to someone cheating. If he was honest about cheating prevention as his goal, he would want to optimize both sensitivity and specificity. But he only cranks up the sensitivity to 11. In other words, if there is the slightest sign of a behavior that a cheater would show, he sounds the alarm. But he seems to not care about mowing down everyone else how shows these quite normal behaviors in the meantime. With this attitude, you can accuse everyone of cheating. And by this point, his attacks are arbitrary personal attacks against the victims he chooses. If this continues, I think he should be held accountable for his behavior, both by the chess community and potentially a court.
I agree 100%. Going around and accusing everyone of cheating without any reasonable evidence is behavior that should be absolutely stopped and punished
Yes, this is what needs to be considered as part of “you should be able to question anyone”. The terms “sensitive”/“specific” might be too technical, but the idea is surely fundamental to statistical considerations. (As is difference between a chesscom elo, and a fide elo).
Another way to express the argument is that one does not want many false negatives (low sensitivity) but at the same time does not want to have many false positives (low specificity). Kramnik does not seem to care about positive tests being false. He apparently thinks that any positive contributes to corroborating the accusation, whether it is true or not.
What is so especially infuriating about this whole thing is that Danya is, as nearly everyone who pays attention is aware, one of the most friendly, most polite, most reasonable, most thoughtful, most intelligent, and most insightful of all public figures in the chess world. His commentary is as good as it gets; many (including me) think that he is the best commentator in the world in terms of explaining the action to the "average" person. His ability to commentate a blitz game is beyond phenomenal. When he interviews anyone at any time, he is unfailingly polite and respectful. He works extremely hard to teach chess to players at all levels, and does it both online and in-person. He is, of course, widely recognized by the world's top GMs as one of the finest bullet players in the world; he has played many of them both OTB and online in all sorts of formats. The fact that Kramnik has chosen Danya, of ALL people, as the primary target of his malicious attacks shows that he is deeply, deeply disturbed and has gone beyond the bounds of rational discussion. His current actions are beyond contempt, and possibly criminal. He deserves to be rejected and shunned by the world's chess community.
Danya is very charismatic, photogenic, great teacher, and a legit strong GM. That's why it's extra shocking when he looked at engine lines a few times. If even a guy like Danya does it, who else? Likely the majority of titled players. Many top GMs have confessed to occasionally turning on the engine while playing online in casual games (no prize money). It's just so easy.
I'm feeling for Danya. His videos have helped me a lot to improve my chess. He's the sole reason i can do bishop-knight checkmate in like a minute. He's a pure soul I can bet my life on that. He doesn't deserve this. I hope things get better for him.
@@SenatorBlutoeveryone is not a saint. But why kramnik need to assume he is the only saint who is the victim of all the other chess players who are according to him not even legitimate chess players but just a whole bunch of cheaters? Why is it that only he is allowed to win? Heck, I would say we need stats of kramnik's online games and have similar kind of nerve wrecking interviews for him as well.
Respect for Vishy increases so much after seeing how age has affected Kramnik. The man played a match against billionare who was using stockfish and still didnt say anything
The thing is, kramnik is not that old. He never was a better or smarter person. It's just that the internet and publicity helped more people to see his real level of intelligence.
Not saying anything about stupid cheating stunts is not aging gracefully either. But Anand is generally such a good example for a sane former world champion.
@@nilsp9426well in that context it was a charity event so Anand let it slide as he probably didn’t want to ruin the atmosphere, but in his humouring style indicated that he obviously knew what was up. After the event basically everyone called the cheater out on twitter relentlessly…
Fabi is such a thoughtful speaker. I love it! After watching this video, I think Danya is very much in the clear. I'd love it if he now just ignores the noise and continues his speedrun for the benefit of his audience.
Thanks to Cristian and Fabi for giving Danya this platform to vent and explain things. You can see how much he needed it. If he ever decides to sue Kramink, I'll donate to a fund for it if one is set up.
Danya, only the nutters are buying anything Kramnik says. Politics have taught me to stop caring at all what the nutters think. They don't deserve our mental energy or time. Hopefully you'll be able to push this aside and focus on the things and people that bring you joy. Kramnik is a paranoid, egomaniacal sociopath. And that's how he'll be remembered. You will be remembered as an honest GM with good intentions that only wants the best for the chess community.
100%, it's really a shame this is taking a toll on Danya when clearly Kramnik is always in denial when proven wrong and just changing the subject. first it's about cheating, then the problem is farming, then whatever else, wtf does farming have to do in this context?
Glad to hear a long format conversation where Danya is able to properly go through everything and defend himself from these absurd allegations that have absolutely no merit from a former world champion. The fact that the accusations continued to fly even after Danya had 5 cameras up for Titled Tuesday just tells you everything you need to know.
Kramnik’s argument is the equivalent of: “There is confirmed video of Danya jaywalking. This is unmistakable. It is a criminal act, and he has committed it. I’m not saying he is a murderer, but as a criminal he should be investigated for any crimes in his general area. I’m just asking questions.”
While my chess rating is only about 1200, I am a professional mathematician and a published author in mathematics (Oxford). In listening directly to Kramnik's own words (video recording) and reading his own words (assumedly) over the past few months, it is clear to me that he has very little knowledge on statistics himself AND either he is being given very poor advice (mathematically) or he's lying about consulting with mathematicians. I'm sorry if this sounds arrogant, but it's really obvious when someone who isn't an expert in statistics starts talking rubbish. (I imagine GMs or IMs would immediately be able to tell that I'm not an expert in chess a few seconds into listening to me talk about my chess.) There's no doubt: mathematically speaking, Kramnik's doesn't understand statistics and is simply making ridiculous accusations across the board. Although that IS my professional opinion, I must add that a human being, I have a bias. I think Danya is the best chess commentator in the world (sorry @GothemChess), a great content creator, an obviously brilliant chess player, and all-round complete legend. Also shoutout to GM Caruana, you're a legend too! Congrats on the recent win.
Kramnik has been publicly told as much by other mathematicians and has still responded by insisting they are incorrect or misrepresenting him. That should tell you how willing he is to receive feedback on his methodology. Long before this cheating crusade began, Kramnik was notorious for spouting completely spurious lines in post-match interviews to try to convince the public he was winning, which engines have easily disproved. He has a pathological tendency to lie and to refuse to acknowledge error which is likely indicative of a personality disorder.
You don't need to have anywhere near your level of prowess in mathematics to realise how little Kramnik understands about statistics. He'd argue that a coin must be biased if it shows 10 heads in a row, even if the previous 50,000 flips all showed no other long chains.
I'm a huge fan of all kinds of strategy games and generally someone who is into one kind of strategy game is into others. I would say the majority of strategy games lend themselves to teaching sort of a basic understanding of statistics and how numbers work on small/medium/large scales. Unless chess is the only game Kramnik has ever played in his life I can't believe he doesn't understand how numbers work at some sort of basic level at least. I think he is actually suffering from some kind of paranoid mental disorder.
I mean it's beyond horrific the most nonsensical and absurd uses of statitistics Kramnik has been using since day 1. It's so bad faith it becomes so hard believe that it's not just being intentionally evil
I did find Danya's speedruns ( 39:30 onwards) to be among the most useful chess-related material out there. Explaining how to a GM would approach the kind of positions that arise in amateur games and turn them into an advantage is extremely valuable.
@@denniseldridge9266 Yeah same. I'm a bit of a video essay addict who's just casually gotten into history the last few years, and I would binge the heck out of any Danya educational content about this and any other history interests he may have
So many good comments, but i want to leave one more just to make your support a little louder, Danya. This must be so hard. I hope this experience only makes you stronger in the end. There might be valuable lessons and skills that only hard times can teach even if this is so hard to see in the moment and is so much easier said than done. You can do it!
Danya looks SO stressed out man. It's actually time to do something about Kramnik. He should be completely shunned from the chess world at this point because he's HURTING people! If he keeps this insanity up for long enough, he should risk being stripped of his title. This is no joke.
But has Danya ever explained where he keeps looking during games? It's exactly the same behaviour e.g. people with a radar hack in FPS games exhibit. And it's not glancing somewhere, he is highly focused on what he looks at.
@@gast1981 If I ever meet you in real life, and I see you move your eyes in ANY direction, I will tell everyone that you are a murderer and should locked up in jail
Danya has been beyond patient and I totally understand his increasing exasperation. As Danya says it’s fine to privately suspect people but unacceptable to launch a public crusade against them. I hope Danya is able to slowly tune this out and keep making great chess content
I think Fabi nailed it when he said this has gotten personal for Kramnik. Seems like he refuses to listen to any type of reason at all and is fueled by emotion and feeling.
This has nothing to do with chess, or emotion or feeling. This is a Russian propaganda campaign to destroy trust in top level chess whilst they are banned from it using a man heavily rumoured to have been helped by them to win a world championship.
Fischer against the world.... Kramnik against the world.... See where I am getting? We are witnessing a sane man going mad. Google says that paranoia might develop within months, particularly in response to intense stress or traumatic events.
There is an infamous saying: "If you are not careful you will turn into the very thing you despise the most". Kramnik went through a similar version of this vs Topalov, the Toiletgate scandal. Topalov and his manager accused him of using engine help during bathroom breaks during their WC match in 2006. One would think that Kramnik would know what it's like to be the victim of baseless accusations. Apparently not. He's now doing the same thing to others... It's a damn shame. Kramnik was a heck of a player, perhaps my favorite back in the day. I loved the way he played, that positional style rock solid chess. Seems like retirement has hit him hard and he's lost the last verges of his sanity.
1:50:44 Even during Danya's other game with the fishing pole trap, Kramnik paused the video just before Danya said that he is looking at an earlier position with the engine. Kramnik then implied that Danya is looking at the current position aka cheating. Really dishonest.
@kramnikstudentc24 Are you stupid? He already said it was wrong, We're currently discussing the actual *impact* of it. It's not very impactful at all since it does not actually help you in the current position! And Kramnik was talking about it as if he was looking at the current position! The details do actually matter
@@kramnikstudentc24 You are either the biggest omega clown kramnik meatrider or a troll that pushes kramnik on to watch the world burn. My brain says you are a troll but my heart says you are a 🤡❤️

@@kramnikstudentc24 even Dayna has said he shouldn't have done that, but to point that out as evidence of him cheating currently/in games that actually matter is ridiculous. It would be look accusing Shaq of cheating because he double dribbled in a pick-up game vs middle schoolers. No.
new pod just dropped edit: just finished watching the pod. i really feel for danya. usually, i find myself particularly jaded from all of kramnik's bs, but i have so much respect for danya as a person, player, and educator that this one isn't going over my head. hopefully danya's mental and physical health recovers soon and that kramnik finally stops firing accusations every direction known to man, as convinced as i am that the latter won't come to fruition. thanks for giving danya a platform for this, fabi and cristian.
Feel for Danya. He doesn't deserve this. He's a genuinely great commentator and compared to gotham a much more instructive and educational teacher. Kramnik's behaviour is appalling. Also, if you look closely, Danya always darts his eyes left and right - even when he's being interviewed. It's the way he is - a bit shifty most likely caused by mild social anxiety. Kramnik should pay heed to this
I think this episode was fantastic. I’m 100% on Danya’s side and I expect most rational thinking people are too. You can really tell how personal this attack is. I feel bad for Danya and hopefully this whole thing has no lasting impact on his well being.
I remember Nepo saying in one of the interviews how he used stockfish during a game with Neman, when he had a suspicion that the latter was cheating against him. That to me felt like a worse violation, yet nobody seemed to comment on it. Here's the interview (in Russian, but has subtitles): ruclips.net/video/_8rBWqaImPE/видео.htmlsi=58t7G9BUACMqXUe-&t=2972

Nothing much he can do against a paranoid Russian. I think the worst part is someone asked Kramnik when he livestreamed if there was ANYTHING Danya could do to convince him he was not cheating and he answered probably not 🤦♂

Someone should definitely plant the seed in Kramnik's head that Magnus might not be who he says he is. Do it in a subtle enough way and he'll never be able to let go of it. It's really not that far-fetched that this could happen; after all, Kramnik suspects Hikaru and Hikaru really isn't far behind Magnus in strength at all.

Has anyone checked Kramnik for mental illness? He suffers from an incurable autoimmune condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis. It causes chronic inflammation primarily in your spine but sometimes other organs like heart, lungs, eyes etc. I know this because I’ve had the same condition since childhood. A small subset of patients tend to acquire clinical depression and other manifestations of declining mental health. The disease itself and the lifelong drugs that one has to take can cause this. For some people low grade inflammation is always there inspite of treatment. I can’t see any other explanation of him going mad all of a sudden from this likeable respectful chess icon.
This. It was as if Christian was whispering and Fabiano was yelling. I had to keep lowering the Audi and raising the audio depending on who was talking.
@@chicassoproductions8527 Yeah, I've often had that problem. For me the worst is when Fabi's volume is really wobbly up and down. When that combines with the reverb his audio also often has, I just can't understand anything he says. Fabi seriously just needs a better mic, that one change would drastically improve all of their content
He wants Danya to pay him, and make money out of him just like what he did with Niemann (became his coach), and Martinez (TV Special). When he found out he's not getting from Hikaru, he turned to the smaller fish with money as well. Kramnik is a disgust!ng old man.
Yes, he’s probably a psychopath and trying to gain some sort of financial advantage by generating all this publicity. He’s turning into an irrelevant aging chess grifter. Sad
How dare he come after naroditsky my goat. Genuinely Danya is the classiest, most humorful, informative, grandmasters you can look up to. He helped me hit 2000 in 2 years simply from the education and genuine passion he puts into the game. Whether it’s the history he adds, his unique style, his personality is the main reason for me going on my own chess journey and I know many others feel the same. But above chess, what a standup guy. These people and accusers are living in a chess bubble and it’s pretty disappointing. There is 0 validity or credibility to these claims and those who rally them lose so much respect from me and others. It’s just disappointing how far a former world champion can push something with the only reason its getting attention is his former prowess. Truly shows that no title or ELO can measure the man. And Danya is 100x the man
Many thanks for the professional interview. This video was perfect to clear up misconceptions (I didn't know I had) on the whole strange situation. Hang in there Danya, you're golden.
Danya should just ignore Kramnik at this point. Kramnik, like any other online troll feeds off attention, ignore him and he will focus on a different target soon enough.
Kramnik is sullying other people's hard word and lifetime earned reputation at this point. Its ironic coming from him who was accused of cheating in a proper OTB tournament. It feels like he has some grudge against a few people and doesnt want to listen to any logic. He wont ever accept he was wrong. If he didnt accept even after Jospem played a full tournament on his terms, then why will he now?
I had a bipolar family member who went through episodes of psychosis where he would say the wildest shit and firmly believe it.. it was scary. Kramnik reminds me of that.
Danya says "It never occurred to me that people could interpret this in such a twisted manner." That basically sums it up. Sucks to see it's taking such a toll on him.
Thanks for the episode. It’s nice to see that you guys are giving him the time and platform to share his thoughts on the whole situation. I hope Danya rests and decides to move on from all of this. No more energy should be spent on Kramnik’s accusations.
Not accusing, just asking ChatGPT this question: “What is the best way to handle a crusading narcissist, who is blatantly accusing everyone around them without understanding that they’re completely in the wrong? This person is a former world champion in their field, and hence had a position of influence. Even if it isn’t being said out loud, I think the vast majority can see that this person’s got narcissistic personality traits, and painting themself into a corner, although they can’t see it themself, and is getting verbally aggressive and very self righteous.”
Sure, here’s a condensed approach: Avoid Direct Confrontation: Criticizing them directly can provoke defensiveness. Instead, use neutral language and focus on broader goals rather than personal flaws. Validate Selectively: Acknowledge their strengths without feeding their ego to avoid escalating self-righteous behavior. Set Boundaries: Politely reinforce respectful interactions and avoid engaging with aggressive behavior. Redirect Conversations: Steer discussions toward solutions, subtly moving away from their accusations. Use Group Unity: Build a collective understanding among others to limit the narcissist's influence over group dynamics. Protect Your Energy: Step back when needed, and avoid letting their behavior drain or affect you. Consider Third-Party Help: If necessary, involve HR or a mediator to keep them accountable if their behavior disrupts productivity.
I'm on Danya's side here, but you are making a fatal mistake - quoting Chatgpt, a bot that is known to make horrendous mistakes. Failing to follow logic is a disqualification for anyone, even tools like this. You voided your point by quoting a chatbot that cannot comprehend logic.
Kramnik is a narcissist and pathological liar who feeds off of drama, manipulation, deception, ... He likes to the attention that he creates around himself, he likes to see other people suffer because of him, it gives him feelings of power. He does NOT care (and can not) about other people's feelings. He will NEVER admit that he is wrong (even though he is and he might know it) because it brings shame upon his personality. Kramnik only cares about himself and proving that he is somehow correct and he does not care about others or the chess community.
The dude would be a perfect judge or prosecutor in Russia, actually. He's like a badly written character from a propaganda movie from the cold war, the archetypical corrupt soviet judge.
I practically never watch Danya, but I always heard how most super GM's are respecting his skills in Blitz and Bullet. This interview was super interesting.
GM Danya is a precious gem of the chess community and the best endgame teacher on planet Earth! I can't imagine a more humble GM that has given so much chess wisdom to the world for free. how can anyone take this absurd theater from Kramnik seriously?
Does anyone think Kramnik is doing this to make money? By engaging with his accusations, you are increasing the number of people who will go on to watch his streams. He is basically going after streamers with the most viewers to gain traction. I think he has seen how much money people like Hikaru and Levy are making through streams and he is getting in on it.
Kramnik stated in his response that he would love to come on this podcast and explain his position, but he is sure he won't be invited. I sincerely hope you guys do invite him back, as crazy and vindictive as he might be. The way he interprets events (and words sometimes) is really difficult for me to understand, but I feel like he might behave differently being interviewed by somebody with Fabi's level of Prestige.
Thank you very much for not editing out the rightfully angry and unfiltered Danya. Kramnik deserves every single one of those words. Beatch... yeah! We love you Danya!
@@Stony2103 actually yes, it sucks. I was rooting for him when he played against Leko in 2004. Just sad to see. Something tells me he suffers from something similar to what made Fischer mad.
It's important to realise that whatever this is, it's not an evidence-based discussion, and responding to Kramnik with evidence will almost certainly not help at all. The chances are that it will only lead to further stress and mental and physical harm. At some point the best course of action may be to accept that Kramnik will not change his mind and continue with your chess in the best way possible. There is a very important broad, general point here - this really is not about evidence and reason. Sane, reasonable, highly intelligent, high achieving people in many fields become crackpots. You really can't do anything about it other than accept it. Stress can sometimes usefully be defined as not being in control. Take control.
Excellent point, and Fabi is struggling with this as well. He and Cristian keep asking how Kramnik responded to this or that bit of evidence, or saying that they just can't see the logic behind some of Kramnik's thinking. Yes, of course you can't, because there ISN'T any logic or rational reasoning or behind it--there is only pathology. It's much more a psychiatric problem than a legal or rational problem.
How is it not evidence-based? I love Danya as a commentator and chess-educator, but it's very obvious that there are strange things happening with him (where he looks, the reflections behind him etc.), but all those are evidence that something is fishy. It's not proof, but it definitely is eveidence.
@@gast1981 No, they are absolutely not evidence of anything except--as some other commentor pointed out--personal peculiarities that many if not most chess players and streamers share. Many people in many circumstances do it. I do it, when I'm working on something on the computer or on a Zoom call. Danya may do it more than average--some do it more, some do it less--but in itself it's meaningless. The actual truth is that Kramnik is off his rocker and deeply malicious; that's what's hard to accept. Pretty obvious Kramnik's agenda is not against cheating because otherwise he wouldn't be working with Niemann, who admitted to cheating in "meaningless online games", it's purely personal and cherrypicked.
I think Kramnik's agenda is against hypocrisy. He was banned for using another account (a violation), Hans was banned for using an engine (a violation) and Danya, works for that same platform and has admitted engine use offense...
If Russia were to implement a campaign to destroy trust in top level chess in response to being banned it would look an awful lot like this. Using a guy heavily rumoured to have been helped by them.

I think Kramniks reach can not only be explained by his WC status, but also by people loving an underdog against the evil system story. These kinds of general feelings and attitudes blind people to the details. It is the same reason why greenwashing works: people want it to be true, even though every part of it screams "this is a scam" and there are countless news segments on it for years. In that regard I highly value Fabi's insistence on being an independent party and his willingness to clearly state his independent, not at all black and white opinions.
It is the paranoid conspiracy theorist mentality. There are quite a lot of mentally cracked paranoid people out there willing to believe any nonsense, especially if it is similar to "champion of truth against shadowy elite". Sadly, a lot of them can't be reasoned with. A mere hint of something being off is enough for them to fully believe there is a conspiracy. And more you try to disprove it, the more convinced they get because they don't trust your intentions. As a final resort they just claim evidence is fabricated. Arguing with conspiracy theorists is futile. Ignore them or file defamation lawsuits.
the jospem thing is hilarious. someone seriously needs to sit Kramnik down and go through some of the (if : then) logical implications he is attempting to sell. Kramnik and all his minions. If you ever needed proof that these Chess elites arent by necessity intellectual elites this is it. its like a very wide very shallow pool with one dime sized bore hole of greater depth. At least outside of Soviet allegation lord 80s iron curtain society with secret police and everyone trying to rat on and slander their neighbors.
This makes me feel really bad for Danya & also Hikaru from a mental health standpoint. Hikaru mentioned leaving chess altogether. The unfounded accusations are doing more harm than good
Anyone who has been around chess for any length of time knows of Kramnik's character. He is the worst kind of bully. The one that was bullied in school for his weakness, so when he works to get any power, instead of "i will make sure no one has to endure what I did' he chose "now it's my turn!" He's a coward, a liar, and a criminal
Now you described it, I also would vote for this picture. The old Kramnik comes out as a bidder loser in life. Counting the days until he is divorced and moves back to Russia, since he remained just a small town primitive.
I agree with Kramnik that cheating is a big problem. Unfortunately the people he accused are not the cheaters. Naka is just a comical accusation. Talking about one of the few who hit 2800+.
Danya has to discover that his engagement with the Kramnik fire per se makes the Kramnik fire more sustainable (because there's nothing to talk about in the first place EXCEPT _responses_ to that nothing that there was to talk about lol)
This man's educational speed runs are insanely instructive more than any youtube content i watched , his love and passion for the game is obvious , total support for you Danya , tough times make u stronger , you will get through it
1:03:47 Christian: "It's like when the wife accuses you of cheating in her dream, and gets upset at you in the morning." This is so funny cause every guy understands the absurdity of this.
My two cents (which really aren't so valuable): If Kramnik refuses to say he is accusing people, the first interaction any GM or other should have with him is clarifying that point. After Kramnik says he is not, then just ignoring him. Dont give him attention until he actually does accuse and then he can not use this "I am only asking questions" motif.
Stop, Danya. Defend your character, yes. But you do NOT have to prove yourself innocent. You'll never prove it. The prosecutor/persecutor *always* has the burden of proof.
If you lose against Kramnik OTB it's proof you're cheating online, if you beat Kramnik OTB it's proof you're cheating OTB as well. Those are the only outcomes in Kramnik's mind.
You can physically see the strain and stress taking a toll on danya's health.
My thoughts go out to you Danya, hope you get through this.♥️

That's a very good way of saying it

Hahahahah, that's really a good one
Special IMPLICATION Operation!
So accurate
Exactly. Some of the behaviors he is pointing out he himself does as well. Looking away from the monitor/board....EVERYONE does that
Yes, this is what needs to be considered as part of “you should be able to question anyone”.
The terms “sensitive”/“specific” might be too technical, but the idea is surely fundamental to statistical considerations. (As is difference between a chesscom elo, and a fide elo).
Very very well said.

Hmm, I just might go do that.
Sure, here’s a condensed approach:
Avoid Direct Confrontation: Criticizing them directly can provoke defensiveness.

Thank God that Kramnik became a chess player and not a judge or prosecutor.
He probably wasnt corrupted enough to become a judge or prosecutor in russia. But close.
The dude couldn't be a substute teacher for elementary kids. He's lucky he had any type of career.
I want kramnik as my lawyer. He will frustrate the hell out of everyone out there with his bs
Thank you guys for taking the time to take this seriously.
Feel bad for Danya.
Christian and Fabi are such a good interviewer duo.
GM Danya is a precious gem of the chess community and the best endgame teacher on planet Earth! I can't imagine a more humble GM that has given so much chess wisdom to the world for free. how can anyone take this absurd theater from Kramnik seriously?
Danya is one of the best chess commenters out there and a brilliant chess player,
Does anyone think Kramnik is doing this to make money? By engaging with his accusations, you are increasing the number of people who will go on to watch his streams. He is basically going after streamers with the most viewers to gain traction. I think he has seen how much money people like Hikaru and Levy are making through streams and he is getting in on it.
I'm starting to think that when Kramnik mentions his "Team" working with him to catch cheaters, it's actually just him
Maybe a few 750 elos reporting baseless claims to him??
Him, Nepo, Levitov, Artemiev and other Russians. I don't think his group is really big.
I didn't know about the speedrun concept in Danya's videos. I'll probably go watch em. They sound useful for someone at my current chess lvl
They're honestly the best educational chess content you can find for free. Check them out, you won't regret it
Kramnik stated in his response that he would love to come on this podcast and explain his position, but he is sure he won't be invited.
These guys never miss. Thanks Cristian & Fabi!
Kramnik lived long enough to see himself become the villain. Without the seeing part though.
and without ever being a hero.
@@godfreyofbouillon966 he was one of mine actually
@@KraterlandschaftMy condolences, then. Must suck to see him being such a failure nowadays.
Of course many chess players--and streamers in general--look around, back and forth, up and down, in all different directions, while they are talking, thinking, or concentrating. At this point, I think Hikaru's attitude is the only proper one: Tell Kramnik to GFHS and make no further response.
@@zyabayz101 But its not "general-look around" - its highly focused looking at something. Very highly focused.
The very exact same way players that use e.g. a radar hacks in FPS games do.
And it's not chat. It's not the clock. So what is it?
So, yes, it definitely is evidence that something fishy is going on.
Not proof, but reason enough to seriously question what's going on.
@@gast1981 If you seriously suspect that Danya is cheating again sub-2000 players in order to--what, gain a few Blitz rating points?--then there's not much I can say to you. He obviously doesn't make money from his alleged cheating, and he has many times demonstrated that he has the skills to play the absolute best bullet players in the world--Magnus, Hikaru, and Alireza--in competitive matches. (Just listen to what Fabi says about it in this interview; Fabi says that in 1+0 against Danya, he would have no chance.) There is not the SLIGHTEST incentive for him to do any of the ridiculous things that he is accused of by Kramnik.
I honestly don't think this has anything to do with chess or cheating. This is a disinformation campaign. Reality and facts are irrelevant. And that's exactly how it's playing out. And yeah the Niemann thing is just the cherry on top of this insanity cake.
@mrmiller74 so using engine is an offence. Nonsense
@@chukspeter4044 Yes, using an engine is an offence. I don't get what you are trying to say?
In the Netherlands we say "TALL TREES CATCH A LOT OF WIND".
Ummm ... I don't know what that means.
@@thomasdequincey5811 Important people receive a lot of scrutiny/criticism.
In NZ, we have a similar phrase about “tall poppies”.
I think better translation to English would be "Tall trees..."
@@godfreyofbouillon966 I think you're right ;-)
Danya has definitely lost weight and just does not look healthy since this all started. I hope he finds his footing and has all the support he needs. Love you Danya.
I noticed that too 🥲
His weight loss happened even before this .. I noticed it a few weeks ago. I wonder what happened.
Oh please, no. I don't wanna hear any 'news' on that
Wtf. Didn’t expect to be catching strays from Fabi 45:45
Danya, it's really sad and troubling to see you so upset, it's so clear all across your face. Please, please, please just ignore Kramnik, he is being a complete troll and is cyber bullying. It is disgraceful. I am 100% behind you and I can imagine that the vast majority of the English speaking chess community is also. Keep your head up and ignore the negativity, you will come out of this as clean as you came into it. Kramnik can go to hell, I have zero respect for him now, he is a complete bully and a coward.
Danya don't let the haters win! We know the true you! You are a Good guy and an great teacher! Don't forget that!!
At this point Kramnik would absolutely humble Fischer on sanity factor.
well, let's not get carried away, Fischer was really gone at the end, Kramnik is obviously on his way, but he still has a long way to go to get to Fischer insanity.
Fischer was firing on all cylinders all his life.
@@sliceserve234Is he? I'd say Fischer and Kramnik are about even now. One simply hates women, the other hates people stronger than him.

You have sub 1000 elo logic.
The chess community is with you! Keep it up Danya
the jospem thing is hilarious. someone seriously needs to sit Kramnik down and go through some of the (if : then) logical implications he is attempting to sell. Kramnik and all his minions. If you ever needed proof that these Chess elites arent by necessity intellectual elites this is it. its like a very wide very shallow pool with one dime sized bore hole of greater depth. While they have him sitting and listening also add some basic fundamentals of law, and philosophy of science while youre at it because this guy is an embarrassment. At least outside of Soviet allegation lord 80s iron curtain society with secret police and everyone trying to rat on and slander their neighbors.
Now hans should be taking Danya's interview.
The one that was bullied in school for his weakness, so when he works to get any power, instead of "i will make sure no one has to endure what I did' he chose "now it's my turn!"
He's a coward, a liar, and a criminal
Or he is just a tool for ruski propaganda
I thought Hikaru Nakamura was that person that you are describing.
Now you described it, I also would vote for this picture. The old Kramnik comes out as a bidder loser in life. Counting the days until he is divorced and moves back to Russia, since he remained just a small town primitive.
Bully?? Hahaha he is an old dork just look at him. A little old man with glasses.
@@moonboy5851 that does not mean he isn't also a bully. But yes, a dork that is happy to kick people.
I agree with Kramnik that cheating is a big problem. Unfortunately the people he accused are not the cheaters. Naka is just a comical accusation. Talking about one of the few who hit 2800+.
Ok, we have established that danya isn’t cheating but we haven’t established if he is or isn’t a witch.
Danya has to discover that his engagement with the Kramnik fire per se makes the Kramnik fire more sustainable (because there's nothing to talk about in the first place EXCEPT _responses_ to that nothing that there was to talk about lol)
This man's educational speed runs are insanely instructive more than any youtube content i watched , his love and passion for the game is obvious , total support for you Danya , tough times make u stronger , you will get through it
Kramnik's favourite openings are: "Procedure gambit - lunatic variation" for white and "Twitter shitpost system - Russian spy variation" for black

Kramnik today released a video that essentially proves cheating.

When was this recorded? Just asking because there are so many new things regarding Kramnik's antics everyday.
Must be Somewhere around the time when Kramnik uploaded the Lies empire part 1 video.
The debate on Levitov was live yesterday, so probably today.
There's a difference between concrete proof and witch hunting. He chose the latter, you think he cares about the former?
Danya unhinged

Danya unhinged or Kramnic unhinged?
LOL Dina, this doesn't have the connotation in English that you may have been going for...
Seconding what Tremble said, 'unhinged' could probably be better attributed to Kramnik.

Excellent podcast. Daniel's humor and way of speaking makes him one of the best guests you have had on the show! Thanks!
If you lose against Kramnik OTB it's proof you're cheating online, if you beat Kramnik OTB it's proof you're cheating OTB as well. Those are the only outcomes in Kramnik's mind.
