Fabi is not just one of the greatest chess players off all time, he's also an incredibly interesting person with very interesting insight and questions for the guests. This podcast has been incredible so far, I really hope you guys continue these. Also Cristian and Fabi have very good synergy for this type of long form content. It's crazy to live in an era where we get to watch such high level game analysis and learn so much about the top players. Even just a few years ago you would really only get FIDE interviews during tournaments and that was it.

It seems that for him chess was a difficult start unlike some prodigies and that he had to surpass himself to progress, in addition to having competition within his family with his brother who occupied more chess attention than him, I understand better why he doesn't like to lose even years later and had to inflate his ego a little to hold on in these conditions and succeed in achieving his goals.

This is the best format for interviews. Love seeing the absolute top players of the world talk in so casual fashion and admiring good quantities of each other. I love Fabi's sincerity and gentle style of talking. He is one of the top 4-5 players in classical of our era but still is humble and quite intuitive about his questions. Also love that you guys are not rushing for achy headlines (I know this was recorded before Hans niemann controversy) but interested in the true life stories. So much better than general media interviews.

Another great interview video. I found it very interesting that Nakamura said that chess understanding didn't come easy for him, and that he thought that players for whom chess doesn't come easy have a better chance of getting really good at it, because they have to work harder at it, and are therefore able to work their way up from plateaus in a way that more naturally talented players aren't. Or something like that.

Some feedback: I'd love to see the podcast maintain a good balance between technical topics and casual chat. For example, I, a mediocre recreational chess fan, didn't know which exact lines of which games Hikaru was referring to, but I very much enjoyed his thoughts on streaming, Kasparov and psychological pressure. For others, it might be the other way round. So a good mix of that could be key. I, personally, will remain a very happy listener if you don't forget to occasionally add a few words of context when it gets very specific, so I can follow along. :)

    Hello Fabiano and Christian,
This is an outstanding channel and brilliant podcast. Fabiano is not only an all-time great chess player but also one of the most articulate people in the scene. Good Luck with this venture. Hope you have a lot of success.

I have watched every podcast so far, but wow this was great. Absolutely amazing. Great job guys and great decision to ask Hikaru to do this. Would love to see Fabi or Cristian on the Hikaru channel to cover an event some day. Could be a great way to promote the channel. Having Fabi and Cristian cover a Hikaru event where Fabi isn't playing would be absolutely epic, I think twitch would explode if that happened.

What Hikaru describes at @8:24 is also why many gifted kids get bodied by university. She have poor study habits because they breezed through high school then get to university and hit a wall, as he said.
